[Main Story]
Chapter 1 - The City That Sells One-Night Dreams
Even among the many luxurious places in the pleasure district, this shop stood out the most.
I stepped inside, feeling nervous.
MC: E-Excuse me for coming in…
Aoi: Hehe, welcome. You look tense. Not used to the pleasure district yet?
MC: I’m trying to get used to it, but... I’ve never been anywhere this glamorous before.
Aoi: Haha, that’s perfectly normal. So? I heard you came to deliver something?
MC: Yes. I found this at the entrance of the Hanazaki Mansion.
Aoi: Koto picks…? Oh my, I can’t believe I forgot something so important for my performance. Thank you. I would’ve panicked if I noticed they were missing right before I needed them.
MC: No, I’m just glad I could help. Oh, by the way—on my way here, I saw a crowd gathered around a poster of you, Aoi. You’re really popular, huh?
Aoi: I’m truly grateful. Though maybe it’s also because people find me a little unusual—After all, look at me. I’m the only one in this entire district who calls himself a ‘Flower Artist’.
MC: I heard that flower artist is a new type of Meister job. And that you’re the very first one.
Aoi: That's right. Well, I’m just the first to be officially certified. There’ve been others doing similar things for a long time. Around here in the pleasure district, it’s more common for people to go by titles like geisha or performer.
MC: Still, I think it’s your amazing skills that earned you the title. Before I get assigned to Eternal Flower, I read about it in some documents—To become a flower artist, you have to master traditional arts like koto music, flower arranging, and dance. And not just that—you need a wide range of skills. You need to be multi-talented, otherwise you won’t qualify.
Aoi: Hehe, you're good at giving compliments. It's true—I might not specialize in just one art like some others, but I can proudly say my overall skills are top-notch. In this district, even knowing what's trendy and what's not is part of the charm. Being the only Meister in the pleasure district… well, that naturally draws a lot of attention.
Aoi leaned against the window frame and looked out at the lively streets below.
Aoi: This place—the pleasure district—is where people come to dream. A fleeting world that belongs to no country. The shops here are full of people who help others dream—whether through art... or through other means.
MC: ‘Other means’...?
Aoi: Hmm? Curious? I could show you firsthand—Ah, but no. I only sell art, you see.
He lightly touched his lips with one finger and chuckled softly.
As I tried to understand his mysterious words, he turned his palm outward, gesturing to the street outside.
Aoi: Look at that crowd. But by dawn, most of them will be gone.
MC: …Is that because you can only come and go through the Moon Road?
Aoi: Exactly. This place is just for dreaming—for one night only. The dreams we sell here… disappear with the sunrise.

MC: A dream that only lasts for one night, huh... I bet the dreams people have here are really fun.
Aoi: Hehe, I wonder… Are you the type who might get addicted to this place? The dreams in this city are dangerously tempting—so be very, very careful.
Aoi narrowed his eyes and reached a hand toward me.
His perfectly manicured fingers gently lifted a strand of my hair.
Aoi: By the way... As a thank-you for returning what I lost—how about buying a night with me? I’ll even give you a discount.
MC: N-no way! I couldn't possibly do that!
I quickly shook my head, flustered. Aoi gave a secretive smile.
Even the way he touched his finger to his lips was so graceful—I felt like I had just gotten a glimpse of the true charm of a flower artist.

Chapter 2 - Fingertips That Arrange Flowers
The next day—
MC: Wow…!
I clapped enthusiastically for the two people standing before me.
Aoi played a graceful melody on the koto, while Asahi performed a sword dance that matched it perfectly.
They had asked me to be their audience.
Aoi: You were watching us with such sparkling eyes… It almost made me blush.
Asahi: Hahaha, I didn’t mind the attention one bit.
MC: It was really beautiful. Both the dance and Aoi’s music.
Asahi: Hmm. If we have MC’s approval, then tomorrow’s performance should go smoothly—Oh, that reminds me. Aoi-sama, I have a request.
Aoi: What is it?
Asahi: Would you be willing to arrange the flowers for the event venue? I apologize for the short notice, but we’ve already prepared the flowers in the sitting room—
Aoi: Hmm, got it. You can leave the rest to me. MC, would you like to come too?
MC: Ah… Yes! I’d love to!
Asahi: Thank you very much. Well then, I'll excuse myself here.
(That reminds me… Why is Asahi always so formal with Aoi?)
The thought crossed my mind—but before I could ask, Aoi and I were already on our way to begin the flower arrangement.
...
Aoi: Alright—MC, have you ever done flower arranging before?

MC: Uh… I know a bit about the culture, but...
Aoi: I see. So you’ve never actually tried it?
MC: …That’s right.
Aoi: Hehe, don’t be so tense. Just relax. This is a perfect opportunity, so I’ll teach you.
MC: ! Thank you!
Aoi: First, let’s choose the main flower to place in the center.
I looked at the flowers lined up before us—white, red, blue, yellow.
(Ah... this flower.)
My eyes stopped on that one flower… It was tall, with bold, vibrant petals standing proudly.
(It kind of reminds me of Aoi...)
MC: How about this one?
Aoi: Oh? You have a good eye. That flower is called Tachi Aoi.
MC: Eh… Aoi? That’s a surprise. I picked it because it reminded me of you.
Aoi: Heh… Is that so? Then let’s add this hydrangea too. It’s the same color as your eyes. That way, it’ll be like you and I are side by side—together in the arrangement.

-Somehow, this is a little embarrassing. (☼)

MC: I’m happy… that you’d say something like that.
Aoi: ......
Aoi: …Heh, that’s a little unexpected. Maybe you’re actually the charming type?
MC: Charming!?
Aoi: Oh? You didn’t realize it? In that case… you might have more natural talent than I do.
Aoi smiled with narrowed eyes, then began gathering the flowers he needed.
Aoi: Alright—let’s start arranging them. In flower arranging, it’s important to think about the feeling you want to create—what kind of atmosphere or message you want to express.
He explained smoothly as he worked, his hands moving with graceful, practiced ease.
...
Aoi: There, all done. I think Asahi will be pleased with this.
MC: Ah… by the way, why does Asahi call you Aoi-sama?
I finally asked the question that had been on my mind.
Aoi paused for a moment, then gave a mysterious smile.
Aoi: That’s not something I can tell you so easily. But—
MC: But?
Aoi: Come closer. I’ll whisper it to you.
MC: …? Okay…
Aoi: If you tell me one of your secrets… Then maybe I’ll tell you one of mine.
With a sweet whisper, Aoi gently traced his fingers across my shoulder.
The warmth of his breath brushed my ear, leaving me flustered—and completely forgetting the question I had asked.

Chapter 3 - The True Face Of The Dream-Selling City
After finishing the flower arrangement, late at night—I found myself walking through the pleasure district once again, guided by Aoi-san.
Woman A: Look! Isn’t that Aoi from Hotaruya!?
Woman B: Ahh, he’s so wonderful… I’d love to have him entertain me someday.
Woman A: No way, not with our money. We should just be happy to catch a glimpse of his face.
Aoi: ......
As we walked, I noticed the admiring glances from everyone around us.
It was easy to see just how popular Aoi-san truly was.
Aoi: Look over there—the city comes alive in the evening.
He pointed down the road, where lanterns were being lit one by one.
Hairpins and combs displayed in shop windows sparkled in the soft glow.
Aoi: Just like Hotaruya, that place sells dreams. So do those shops… and those over there. Even that small store on the corner—it’s for locals. The pleasure district really has everything.
The night in the pleasure district was bright and full of energy. The people walking past us looked joyful and glamorous.
Aoi-san watched them with a soft expression. It was clear he truly cared for this place.
A Meister of the Eternal Flower Guild. A master of the flower arts. A man who had chosen to live his life in the heart of the pleasure district.
Aoi: MC, is there any shop that caught your interest?
MC: That little one with all the trinkets. It looks like it has a lot of interesting things.
Aoi: Ah, that one mostly sells accessories. They’ve got some beautiful decorative cords—worth a look, definitely. If you find something you like… shall we buy matching ones?
Just as he said that and we began walking toward the shop—
Man: You’ve got some nerve, trying to run away!
Woman: Please, let me go!
A woman was being dragged along the ground by two large men.
I instinctively moved to rush over, but Aoi-san gently held me back from behind.
Aoi: —Don’t. You mustn’t act on your own. The pleasure district has its own rules.
MC: Aoi-san...
Aoi: Did you hear what he said? She's trying to escape. Probably tried to run off without paying her debt.
MC: Debt?
Aoi: Some people end up here because of debt. Others sell themselves for money, hoping to repay it through their work. If they become popular, it’s not hard to clear the debt. But popularity is never guaranteed. Many end up trapped, working in brothels for years—maybe forever. When you borrow money... you’re expected to pay it back.
MC: ......
Aoi: Do you think this place is scary?

-Yes… it is (☼)
-No, not really (☽) ✓

MC: No… not really. I’m just surprised. I didn’t know much about it before.

Aoi: Yeah. The pleasure district has many faces. Some people come here with painful pasts... But others, like me, choose to live here of our own will. It’s a place full of desire, sorrow… and everything in between. That’s what makes it so fascinating. People can’t help but get lost in it.
Aoi-san looked out over the district, smiling softly—as if he were gently embracing this fragile, fleeting world of dreams.
This city wasn’t only beautiful, but it also had a darker side.
And maybe... that’s exactly what made its dreams so irresistible. Like something you could drown in.
(Hm…?)
Suddenly, I heard footsteps behind us. I turned around—and locked eyes with a man.
Man: ...!
But he quickly disappeared behind a nearby building.
(It felt like... he was watching Aoi-san...)
At the time, I thought he was probably just another admirer. So I didn’t give it much more thought.

Chapter 4 - His True Wish
One peaceful afternoon—
Aoi: Wow, you really are a hard worker, huh.
For some reason, Aoi was quietly following me around as I did my chores.

~Flashbacks~
When I polished the hallway floor, he crouched down to touch the freshly cleaned surface.
When I tied some documents with string, he played with the loose end of it. He kept hovering close by, trailing after me wherever I went.
~Flashbacks~

MC: ...Um, Aoi? This might be a weird question, but—Are you… bored?
Aoi: Yep. Super bored. Today’s my first totally free day in forever. I have no idea what to do with it. ...Hey, MC. What do you do on your days off?
MC: Me? Uh… well, I usually go shopping or read books. Sometimes I just do whatever I feel like at the moment…
Aoi: Hmm… ‘Whatever I feel like,’ huh. That kind of thing is actually the hardest for me. I get bored really easily. I’ve tried a lot of things—swordsmanship, archery, singing, dancing... but I gave all of them up after just a few days.
MC: But you seem like you’d be good at anything.
Aoi: I am. And that’s the problem. When you’re good at everything, nothing feels exciting for long. That ‘thing you want to do’ you mentioned earlier... I’ve never really had something like that.
MC: Huh… but isn’t being a flower artist your ‘thing’?
Aoi: …Who knows. I’m enjoying it for now. But, well… like I said, I lose interest fast.
I remembered the way Aoi had once looked out at the pleasure district with such gentle eyes.
Thinking that he might one day grow tired of being a flower artist… made me feel a little sad.
MC: ...Um, Aoi? I’m about to take a break. Want to go for a walk with me?
Aoi: …A walk?
...
We strolled through town together.
Aoi narrowed his eyes up at the blue sky and stretched lazily.
Aoi: So? Why’d you invite me out for this little walk?
MC: It’s nothing special… I just thought some fresh air might make you feel better.
Aoi: I was hoping you’d say, ‘Because I wanted to enjoy a date with you’.
MC: !
Aoi: Don’t worry—I’m not quitting flower art anytime soon. It’s been more fun since you showed up.
(He saw right through me...)
Aoi: Hehe. Hey, since we’re already out, why don’t we head to Mount Koubai? The air up there is the best.
Just as Aoi turned and started leading the way—
(…Huh?)
Suddenly, I felt a strange gaze on us. I looked around quietly.
Man: ...!
(Wait… isn’t that the same man who was watching us in the pleasure district? And now he’s here, at Mount Koubai...? Don’t tell me—He’s stalking Aoi...!?)
Aoi: What’s wrong, MC?
MC: Aoi… just now, over there—
(Huh? He’s gone…)

MC: Actually, there was a man watching us...
Aoi: …? I don’t see anyone now. Then again, your outfit is unusual around here—and you’re cute. So of course people would look.
MC: No... I think he was watching you. Though, he’s already gone now...
Aoi: ......
Aoi: Well, no one’s around here. Must’ve just been your imagination.
His smile was even more flawless than usual—so perfect, it felt almost unreal.
And somehow… that made me uneasy. As I stood there, unsure, Aoi leaned in with a silky smile.
Aoi: MC? Aren’t you coming?
MC: ...!
He was so close, his eyelashes nearly touched mine. I quickly took a step back.
Aoi placed a finger on his lips and let out a playful laugh.

Chapter 5 - An Ominous Visitor
—The night after our trip to Mount Koubai.
After finishing dinner and cleaning up, Aoi was the only one left in the common room.
(Aoi... He seemed a little off during dinner.)
MC: Aoi-san, are you okay?
Aoi: Okay? What do you mean?
MC: You just seemed a little low on energy...
Aoi: ...You really notice everything, don’t you? Even Asahi, who’s known me for ages, didn’t pick up on that.
MC: Was it because I dragged you around all day? Did I wear you out?
Aoi: No way. Don’t worry—I was just lost in thought, that’s all.

Aoi: Don’t apologize. I’m happy you noticed. It just means… you care about me that much.
MC: Um, Aoi-san… when you get that close, it’s kind of bad for my heart.
Aoi: Heh…
MC: Anyway, if there’s anything I can do to help, just say the word. I’ll be there for you.
Aoi: Thank you. I’ll count on you, then.
Aoi rested his chin on his hand, smiling at me gently—like he was indulging me.
Even though it felt like he was hiding something… I couldn’t bring myself to push him further.
...
A few mornings later—
While I was sweeping outside the Hanazaki Mansion, a man approached.
Man: —You there. Take me to Aoi-sama.
MC: ...!
I froze the moment I saw his face.
(It’s him... The one I saw watching us in the pleasure district and again at Mount Koubai. The man who’s been following Aoi-san…!)
Staying cautious, I responded firmly.
MC: If you don’t have an appointment, I can’t pass on your request or any messages.
Man: ......
Without a word, the man turned on his heel and walked away with long, purposeful strides.
(I can’t believe he came straight to the guild...)
I dropped my broom and rushed inside to report to Aoi.
...
Aoi: Yaaawn... Morning, MC. Huh? You look tense—what’s up?
MC: Um, actually...
I explained what had just happened.
Aoi’s brows furrowed slightly—barely noticeable, but enough to show he wasn’t entirely at ease either.
MC: Aoi-san, should we report this to the Federation Guild? What do you think?
Aoi: Hm?
MC: Stalkers aren’t that uncommon for popular Meisters. The federation has experience dealing with this kind of thing. I’m sure they could—
Aoi: ......
Aoi: —Hehe, hahaha.
MC: !? D-Did I say something weird…?
Aoi: No, not at all. You really are... adorable.
MC: !?
Aoi: …Thank you.
(Aoi-san…?)
...
Later, after Aoi left for work in the pleasure district—I noticed a beautiful letter box sitting on the desk.
(Huh? Isn’t that Aoi-san’s? He said he needed it for work today... He forgot something? That’s rare for him.)
I decided to take it to him.
...
Hotaruya Employee: —Please wait here.
When I arrived at Hotaruya, the employee welcomed me with practiced ease.
(Last time, they had to check with Aoi-san before letting me in... Did he know I’d come today? Maybe he left the box behind on purpose...)
I didn’t understand why he’d do that, but I stayed quiet and waited for the sliding door to open—
Aoi: —I knew it. I figured you’d bring that to me.
MC: Um... What’s going on?
Aoi: ......
Aoi knelt beside me, placed a hand on my shoulder, and whispered softly near my ear.
Aoi: Hey. You said before—if there was anything you could do to help, you’d be there for me, right?

Chapter 1 - Aoi's Secret
Aoi: Hey. You told me before you’d help if there was anything you could do, right? Then... would you run away with me, without asking any questions?
MC: Run away…?
His whispered words were quiet and serious. I held my breath and looked into his eyes, so close to mine.
MC: If by ‘run away’ you mean leaving Eternal Flower... Then I can’t do that.
Aoi: ......
MC: Aoi, if something’s troubling you, please talk to me. Trust me. As the Guildkeeper of Eternal Flower, I promise I’ll do everything I can to support you as a Meister.
Aoi: …I figured you’d say something like that.
Letting out a breath, Aoi relaxed and sat back. The urgency in his expression faded.
Aoi: The man you said you’ve seen a few times... You’re right. He’s probably been looking for a chance to talk to me. He’s come to this shop a few times, too. Each time, the owner chased him off for me. But I guess he finally ran out of patience... Now he’s come all the way to the Eternal Flower Guild. The reason I called you here in such a roundabout way was partly out of caution. And, well... part of me just wanted to see if you’d come.
MC: I-I see...
Aoi: Honestly, what a troublesome situation. Now, how should I handle this...
MC: Wouldn’t it be possible to just reject him directly? I mean, politely but clearly—tell him you’re not interested.
Aoi: ...Hmm?
MC: What?
Aoi: Ah, I get it now. Heheh… haha. Hey—you think he’s in love with me, don’t you?
MC: !? Wait, isn’t he…?
Aoi: Haha… You really are adorable. You take things so literally—it’s kind of cute.
(Did I completely misunderstand…!?)
MC: I just assumed he was some client who fell for you or something...
Aoi gave a graceful smile.
Aoi: ...By the way. What would happen if I asked the Guild Federation for help?
MC: Um… Normally, they’d contact the kingdom’s guards or investigators. The authorities would get involved.
Aoi: So in other words—it would become a matter known to the state.
MC: That’s... right.
Aoi: In that case... that would be very bad.
MC: Why?
I asked without thinking—and in that moment, I felt something shift in the air around Aoi.
Aoi: Hey. Do you remember when you asked why Asahi called me ‘Aoi-sama’?
MC: Huh? Yeah...
I tilted my head, wondering why he was bringing that up now. Then he gently placed a finger over my lips.
Aoi: It’s a bit unfair, since I don’t know your secret—but... I’ll tell you mine. It’s something I’ve never told anyone here. Only my old friends, Asahi and Mikage, know—my deepest secret.
MC: ...!
I held my breath, nervous about what he was about to say.
Aoi: I’m of royal blood. From the Kingdom of Koubai. In other words… I used to be a prince.

Chapter 2 - A Flower Artist's Move
Aoi: I’m of royal blood. From the Kingdom of Koubai. In other words… I used to be a prince.
MC: ......
When you're truly shocked, you can’t even speak.
Hearing Aoi’s secret, I couldn’t form a single word in response.
Aoi: Haha, are you that surprised?
MC: W-Well… I think not being surprised would be impossible...
Aoi: No need to be that shocked, I just happened to be born into a slightly unusual family. That's all.
MC: ‘Slightly’ might be an understatement… But—what do you mean by ‘used to be’?
Aoi: I ran away from home.
MC: You ran away!?
Aoi: Yeah. I wish they’d just declared me dead or something, but of course, it wasn’t that simple... Even now, I technically still have a right to inherit the throne of Koubai. …Actually, in that sense, maybe I’m not really a ‘former’ prince after all. Anyway, there’s a faction that wants me to take the throne. That man following me is probably one of them.
He sighed lightly and took out his pipe.
Aoi: I’m the youngest sibling, so normally the throne wouldn’t concern me. But I was always good at everything as a child—they used to call me a prodigy. Those people truly believe the country would be better off if I took the throne. But if I became king, the nation would collapse in three days. Don’t you think so?
MC: Um… I-I’m not sure how to answer that...
Aoi: If I put myself forward, it could ignite conflict within the royal family. And even though they should know that, they’re still pushing me. They’re not the kind of people you can reason with. Honestly, I’m not sure what to do...
Aoi took a single puff from his pipe, his face shadowed with quiet concern.
Even his troubled expression was so beautiful, I couldn’t help but stare—despite the seriousness of the moment.
MC: Um... Those people who support you—do they actually care about you?
Aoi: That’s the tricky part. They’re extreme, but yes—their feelings toward me are genuine. They’ve cared for me since I was little, so I don’t want to respond with force.
MC: Then maybe—
...
The next day—
Dressed in a long-sleeved kimono, I began learning how to act like a geisha under Aoi’s guidance.
It was all part of our plan to prepare for that man’s visit to the shop—and to support Aoi through it.
Aoi: Mmm, it suits you well. You look stunning in that kimono, MC.
MC: Th-Thank you...

Aoi: Oops, hold still. Your sash is a little crooked.
He reached around from the front and adjusted it gently.
From that close, I caught the soft scent of sandalwood—Aoi’s signature fragrance.
A dreamlike scent, worn by someone who sells beauty for a living.
Aoi: When you said, ‘Show him the way I live as a flower artist,’ I was honestly surprised.
MC: ...I haven’t been in Eternal Flower long. But even so, I know how much you care about the pleasure district, and how captivating you are as a flower artist. I just wanted that man to understand the real you—Aoi, the Meister of Eternal Flower.
Aoi: ...You got me there. Hearing it so directly hits me hard.
MC: Huh?
Aoi: Nothing. Now, try walking down that path next. I’ll be watching.
MC: Okay…!
Wearing the unfamiliar kimono and under Aoi’s gaze, I couldn’t help but move stiffly.
Aoi: Haha, not used to being watched, huh? Come here. Step like this, keep your back straight—yes, tilt your chin just a little.
With a fluid, almost musical voice, Aoi taught me how to walk.
I did my best to follow his every movement and burn it into my memory.
Aoi: So serious. Try to relax your shoulders a bit. Also... smile. You have a smile that could enchant countless men. If you’re going to act as a geisha, it’d be a waste not to use that charm.
MC: Enchant? I’m not you, Aoi-san.
Aoi: Why not? ...At the very least, I am enchanted by your smile.
MC: Aoi-san! That’s—
Aoi: That’s not a joke. You’re truly... beautiful.
MC: ...!
That smile was impossible to read—but the warmth in his eyes was unmistakable.
...
A few days later.
After I had learned how to act as a geisha—
Hotaruya Employee: Um, Aoi-san. The usual gentleman came again. Should we turn him away like always?
MC: ...!
Aoi: Ah, him. Hmm...
Aoi’s gaze slid over to me.
I met his eyes—and gave him a quiet nod.
Aoi: ...Alright. I’m in the mood today. Show him in.
(It’s time...)
From the hallway came the soft sound of approaching footsteps.
Aoi, completely at ease, exhaled a slow puff of smoke from his pipe.

Last Chapter - The Dream Woven by the Flower Artist
Retainer: Lord Aoi! I’m truly grateful that you’ve granted me an audience today. The reason I’ve come is—
Aoi: This is Hotaruya, a haven for fleeting dreams. It would be uncouth to speak of worldly matters here. The moon has only just risen. Please, take your time and enjoy the evening.
Retainer: B-But...
Aoi: Still, you look quite tired. How about a drink to start?
Retainer: I-I couldn’t possibly… Not in front of you, Lord Aoi…
Aoi: Heh, what are you saying? This is a pleasure house. If you can’t relax and enjoy yourself here, then what’s the point?
Retainer: But I came here to speak with you—
Aoi: Then shall I play the koto for you? Or would you prefer a dance?
Retainer: N-No! I only wish to—
MC: Dear guest, perhaps the discussion can wait until after the performance.
Retainer: ...Very well. Just being allowed into this room is already more than I could ask for. I’ll accept your offer.
He took the sake cup in hand. Taking that as a cue, Aoi slipped the koto picks onto his fingers.
As the gentle sounds of Aoi’s koto began to flow through the room, the atmosphere transformed completely.
In just those few moments, the man’s expression visibly softened.
Retainer: …How exquisite. It’s as if I can see wisteria blooming in full glory...
Aoi: ...Thank you for listening.
Once the performance came to a close, Aoi bowed deeply.
I followed his lead, and a brief, calm silence settled in.
Retainer: …Lord Aoi. Thank you, truly, for tonight. I had resolved not to budge, no matter what… But the way you gently turned me away—truly, you live up to your name. Spending time with you made me forget everything. It truly felt like a dream. To speak of the real world in the presence of this town—and you, a master of the floral arts—would be disrespectful.
Aoi: If that’s how you feel, then I’m glad.
Retainer: ...Still, I wish to—
Aoi: I look forward to the day we meet again.
Retainer: …Yes… Yes, of course. The next time I come here, I’ll return as a proper guest—simply to enjoy your art.
As his footsteps faded into the hallway, Aoi and I let out a breath at almost the same time.
MC: Do you think he understood?
Aoi: …At the very least, he saw me for who I am—not as a prince, but as a flower artist. He saw the life I’ve chosen to live. This doesn’t mean everything is solved… But I believe his heart was moved. Your plan was a huge success.
MC: My plan? It only worked because of your incredible artistry, Aoi. The dance and shamisen were beautiful, but… your koto performance today was truly something special. I wondered how you could play so beautifully...
Aoi: Haha, you’re exaggerating. But… if you’re that interested, why not try playing it yourself? Come here. I’ll teach you.
MC: Eh—?
Suddenly, Aoi took my hand and gently pulled me in front of the koto.
And then—
Aoi: Now, try putting on the picks. Like this—pluck the string here… Go on, try it.

I gasped slightly at the warmth and weight of Aoi’s presence behind me.
He carefully guided my hands, showing me how to play, but even the soft brush of his hair made my heart race.
Aoi: …Heh. Are you really that nervous just from being close to me?
(Is he doing this on purpose…!?)
MC: A-Aoi… You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?
Aoi: Very much.
MC: !
Aoi: You never fail to amuse me. I always wonder—will you laugh if I do this? Will you pout if I do that? Every one of your reactions is fun… endearing… I think I might be getting addicted to you. So… please allow me to keep cherishing you.
His voice was filled with a warmth that made my chest tighten.
My cheeks flushed with heat, but I took a deep breath to calm myself.
MC: …Aoi? Could you teach me the next part of the koto piece?
Aoi: Heh, of course. Here—put your hand like this.
MC: Um… are we staying in this position?
Aoi: Of course. I enjoy it this way.
He said it without a hint of shame, but his instructions were gentle and precise.
As the notes began to sound clearer and more beautiful, I couldn’t help but smile.
MC: Being taught by you like this... feels like a luxury.
Aoi: Oh, this? It’s nothing. Ah, that reminds me…
MC: Hm?
Aoi suddenly paused and gently touched my cheek.
Aoi: I’ve asked you before… but have you decided yet? Will you buy me?
MC: Huh!?
Aoi: It’s my way of showing thanks, I suppose. I usually don’t do this, but... I’d even stay the night with you. So think about it… okay?
With a smile that could melt anyone’s heart, Aoi leaned in. In that moment, I nearly nodded before I could stop myself.
A flower artist who sells dreams to all who come. Once again, I was reminded of just how irresistible his charm truly is.

[Moon End]
Chapter 1 - Resolve To Escape
Aoi: Hey. You told me before you’d help if there was anything you could do, right? Then... would you run away with me, without asking any questions?
(He doesn’t seem to be joking...)
MC: Run away? What do you mean?
Aoi: ...If that man catches me, I’ll be taken back. And I can’t let that happen. I may not know what I want to do yet—but I know what I don’t want to do. That’s why I chose this life in the pleasure district... even though I was born into something else.
('That man'... he must be the one who kept following Aoi. I thought he was just an obsessed customer... but who is he really? And—)
MC: Taken back... where? What is it you don’t want to do?
As I asked my questions one after another, Aoi slowly shook his head.
Aoi: I’m sorry... I can’t say any more. It’s that serious of a secret. If I told you, it would only burden you. I’ve already involved you more than I should... I don’t want to do more than that. I didn’t plan on saying anything about running. But... when you came to see me like this, I couldn’t hold it in. I’m sorry.
(Just what is Aoi hiding...?)
Aoi: If I don’t run now... it’s only a matter of time before I stop being a flower artist. I’ll be forced to leave Eternal Flower, and I probably won’t ever see anyone here again—not even you. ...And that’s what I can’t bear.
The usual sparkle in Aoi’s eyes was now clouded with sadness.
When he gave me a soft, lonely smile, my chest tightened.
MC: Aoi...
(I don’t know who he’s running from, or why, or who that man really is. But—)
After a moment of hesitation, I clenched my fists and spoke with conviction.
MC: I don’t know the details, but I do know I’m here to support you as a flower artist. I haven’t been in Eternal Flower very long... But I’ve seen how hard you work. If you disappeared, I know everyone here would be heartbroken.
Aoi: ......
Aoi: MC… would you cry for me too?
MC: ! ...I think I would. If someone as incredible as you left, I’d be lost.
Aoi: Heh. Is that... as a Guildkeeper?
MC: That too, but... I also just personally admire you as a flower artist. Helping someone who brings dreams to life—that’s something I’m truly proud of.
Aoi's lips curled into a soft smile. Seeing that, I let out a breath of relief.
MC: So if you want to run, I’ll help you.
Aoi: ......
Aoi: I’m really glad you’re here with me.
...
We didn’t take much with us—just the clothes on our backs—as we slipped out of the Hotaruya.
We hadn’t decided where to go. Our only goal was to get as far away as possible, heading for the moon road.
Aoi: Looks like we’ve avoided them for now.
MC: But we can’t let our guard down. Let’s keep moving.
Aoi, hidden under a travel cloak to shield his face, scanned the street with sharp eyes.
Just then, voices from a group of men who had just arrived in the pleasure district echoed through the night.
Man A: Wow, no matter how many times I come here, I still get excited.
Man B: It’s peaceful here. A nice change after all the chaos. Things have calmed down a bit in Kingdom of Koubai lately, huh?
Man A: Yeah, but... didn’t that guild—Eternal Flower, I think?—get attacked or something?
Man B: Seriously? That’s awful. And here I thought things were finally settling down...
As their voices faded into the distance, a chill ran down my spine.
MC: Eternal Flower was attacked…? No way—
Aoi: ...!

Chapter 2 - The Secret He Carries Within
After hearing the rumor that Eternal Flower had been attacked, we quickly fled the pleasure district and crossed the moon road into the Kingdom of Koubai.
—And once we reached the ground, a familiar man stood before us.
(That’s the man who kept following Aoi…!)
Man: Lord Aoi, I’ve been waiting for you.
Behind the man stood about ten strong, armed soldiers—clearly his subordinates.
Aoi: …! I see. So we walked right into your trap, didn’t we?
MC: You... set this up—?
Man: My apologies. When I heard the rumor that Eternal Flower had been attacked, I was certain you would return to Koubai.
Aoi: As expected... you really do know how I think. But—if you’re here, that must mean Asahi and the others are safe. At least that’s one relief.
Man: ...Lord Aoi. We need you. For that reason, I hope you’ll forgive us for using... less than noble means.
(If this continues, Aoi will be taken away—!)

Aoi: If I don’t run now... it’s only a matter of time before I stop being a flower artist. I’ll be forced to leave Eternal Flower, and I probably won’t ever see anyone here again—not even you. ...And that’s what I can’t bear.

MC: ...!
Aoi: MC!? What are you—
Man: You—! Do you intend to interfere!?
MC: Ugh...!
I stepped in front of Aoi, trying to shield him, but the man grabbed my shoulder and shoved me aside. I stumbled backward.
MC: Aoi! Run—
Man: This woman…!!
Just as the man lunged at me again—
—something flashed under the moonlight.
Aoi had drawn the hidden blade from the handle of his umbrella and was now holding its tip against the man’s throat.

Aoi: Have you forgotten your pride as a citizen of Koubai? It’s one thing to chase after me—But using force against the weak to get your way? That behavior, I will not tolerate.
Man: ...!
Asahi: Lord Aoi!!
Mikage: Whoa, are you serious...? This turned into a real mess, huh...
Asahi and Mikage came rushing in, kicking off the ground with incredible speed. In a flash of silver, they overwhelmed the guards.
Asahi: ...Alright. That’s all of them. They’ve been restrained!
Aoi: Thank you, both of you. How did you know to find us here?
Mikage: Well, we’ve been noticing some suspicious guys lurking around lately. Today, Asahi told me to keep an eye out—just in case.
Asahi: Then we heard the rumor in town that ‘Eternal Flower was attacked.’ Of course, we knew that wasn’t true—So we figured something was up and were heading to the pleasure district to make sure you were safe, Lord Aoi.
Aoi: ...I see. I was really scared, you know... I thought everyone might’ve gotten hurt because of me... But now that I know you two—and everyone at Eternal Flower—are okay, I’m so relieved.
Asahi: You're too kind. But please rest assured, Lord Aoi—none of us are so weak that we’d be taken down that easily!
Mikage: Heh, well—I wouldn’t say I’m exactly ‘trained’... but yeah. That’s basically it. Let us carry some of the burden for once, Lord Aoi.
Aoi: ...Thank you. But... now that they know I’m at Eternal Flower... Honestly, it’s a miracle I wasn’t discovered until now. What happens next...?
The moonlight shone softly on Aoi’s figure, making him glow pale and ghostlike.
He looked at us with eyes like a lost cat—lonely, full of hesitation.
Aoi: Hey... Asahi, Mikage... and MC too. Do you think... I can still stay at Eternal Flower? Will it be okay... for me to continue living in the pleasure district as a flower artist?
(Aoi...)
His words carried the weight of fear and quiet sorrow—like he was waiting for someone to give him permission to stay.

~Flashbacks~
MC: Huh… but isn’t being a flower artist your ‘thing’?
Aoi: …Who knows. I’m enjoying it for now. But, well… like I said, I lose interest fast.
~Flashbacks~

(...That’s not true.)
I could never fully understand the weight of the secret Aoi carries.
Even so, there’s something I want him to know.
MC: No matter what happens, I’ll support you in doing what you want to do, Aoi. Now and always—please stay the wonderful flower artist you are at Eternal Flower.
As I spoke, both Asahi and Mikage nodded in agreement.
Aoi let out a breath, as if finally at ease. Then, he gently took my hand and pressed his lips to the back of it.
Aoi: ...Thank you. My princess.
He smiled more sweetly than I had ever seen before—And in that moment, I couldn’t look away from his eyes.

Last Chapter - A Feeling I Want to Be Sure Of
A few days had passed since that incident.
Just like before, I came to Hotaruya. But today—I was here as a guest, personally invited by Aoi.
Aoi: I'm glad you came, MC.
As I entered the room, Aoi was already there, elegantly reclining on the armrest of a chair.
A graceful smile played on his lips as he exhaled a wisp of smoke from his pipe—
Faced with the most popular flower artist in the entire pleasure quarter, I couldn’t help but feel nervous all over again.
MC: Thank you for the invitation. But... was it really okay?
Aoi: What do you mean?
MC: You’re incredibly popular, Aoi. I’ve heard it takes months just to get a reservation, right?
Aoi: Today was already my day off. I didn’t have any bookings, so you don’t have to worry about a thing. I simply asked the Hotaruya if I could host you—because I wanted to.
He gently invited me forward, and as I hesitantly sat before him, he reached out to me.
His fingertips softly brushed my cheek with a tender touch, almost reverent in nature.
Aoi: Thank you for accepting my invitation today. And also... thank you for staying by my side, even though you must have had so many questions. You didn’t ask anything—you just stayed. That meant a lot.
Since then, Aoi, Asahi, and Mikage had all seemed busy with various things.
But maybe thanks to that, for now, there were no signs of pursuers.
(He was called “Aoi-sama”... and the way he looked back then—)

Aoi: Have you forgotten your pride as a citizen of Koubai? It’s one thing to chase after me—But using force against the weak to get your way? That behavior, I will not tolerate.
~Flashbacks~

With his proud, graceful presence... He looked just like—
(a prince...)
As I got lost in my thoughts, Aoi let out a soft chuckle.
Aoi: You protected me—me, as a flower artist. That’s why I wanted you to be the first to see my performance after returning to the shop. I hope you’ll enjoy the dream I’ve created for you.
...
After that, Aoi served me tea, performed a graceful dance, and even played music.
It truly felt like a dream for one night—beautiful, shimmering, and fleeting.
While I lost myself in the elegance of his art, time slipped by, and night had already fallen.

Aoi: So, how was it? Spending time with me today?
MC: It was so wonderful, I can’t even put it into words. Now I understand why people are so captivated by you. If I was even a small part of protecting someone as important as a flower artist... Then there’s nothing more I could ask for. I’m really looking forward to seeing you shine again from tomorrow on.
Aoi: Haha... I’ve received a lot of praise in my time, but somehow, hearing it from you makes me feel all warm and ticklish. More than anything, it makes me really happy.
MC: Aoi...?
Aoi: ...Hey, MC. Actually, there’s another reason I invited you here today.
A strong emotion flickered in his pale eyes. But I couldn’t quite figure out what it was.
MC: What is it...?
Aoi: I wanted to be sure of my feelings.
He took my hand and gently pulled me closer—
Then, before I knew it, he fell backward, and I found myself leaning over him.
MC: A-Aoi!?
Aoi: ...What’s the matter?
From below, he held my hand tightly, keeping me from pulling away.
His gaze, playful and sweet, looked up at me.
Aoi: Hey... try touching me. Anywhere you’d like.
MC: T-Touch you!?
Aoi: Don’t be scared.
Just like when he teaches flower arranging, Aoi gently guided my hand toward his chest.
I felt his smooth skin and the warmth beneath it, and quickly pulled my hand back in surprise.
Aoi: ...Haha. Not used to touching a man’s body?
MC: O-of course not! I mean, that’s—
Aoi: You can’t be sure of anything if you stop there. Come on—touch me. My face, my neck... wherever you want. If it’s you, I don’t mind at all.
His enchanting voice urged me forward.
Nervously, I reached out and ran my fingers through his hair.
Aoi: Mmm... that feels nice. Like you’re petting me. It’s comforting.
MC: I-I’m glad...
Aoi: Now, here next.
He took my hand again and placed it on his chest.
I could feel the fast rhythm of his heartbeat through my palm, and my face grew hot.
Aoi: Your hands are so small and warm... It kind of feels ticklish.
He continued to guide my hands—to his shoulders, then his lips—until I could no longer resist him.
Aoi: This is a first for me. Just being touched... makes my heart race and fills me with happiness. I really do... like you.
Those words, so softly spoken, sent my mind spinning.
("He likes me"... That means—)
Aoi: Hey... Can I hold you now?
With that inviting whisper, I couldn’t find any words to reply.
And so, I simply melted into the warmth Aoi offered me.
