Chapter 5 - Following Fluff

After I followed Fluff leaving Avi's castle...

MC: Fluff! W-Wait!

Fluff continued walking without getting any rest. When we snuck out of the castle without the gate soldiers noticing, I realized that we were in town. Even though it was lively during the day, it was completely silent at night.

But, if I don't bring back Fluff now, Avi will get upset. With some courage, I followed him from behind.

Avi: Where did she go! 

Avi frantically searched for MC in the castle. After asking the maid, he was told that she told her to rest for the night after giving her treatment.

I don't know how far I was going as I was following Fluff. In the narrow back alley, Fluff finally stopped and I held him tightly.

When I turned towards that voice, I became surrounded by three men in armor. 

Armored Man 1: Perfect timing, come join us.

Their faces were red.

Armored Man 3: Hey, come on? 

MC: Stop it!

When he grabbed my arm, I strongly shook him off... The man lost his balance and fell. 

Armored Man 2: You... 

The man drew out his sword from it's sheath. 

MC: ...!

Armored Man 2: How cocky of you to know your place!

Just as he raised his sword over me... I held Fluff tightly to protect him. Within the moonlight, red hair shined. 

Avi: Don't touch her!

Avi jumped out in front of us and repelled against the sword with his blade. The blunt sound of metal echoed throughout the dark night. 

Armored Man 1: ...Prince Avi!? 

Avi: You guys... You're the guys that were aiming to become knights from another kingdom. Heavy drinking and raising a hand against a woman... Return to your kingdom now! Don't even step onto the grounds of Alstoria ever again!

Avi pointed his sword towards the men. 

Armored Man 2: Dammit... 

Armored Man 3: Don't! We're no match for him!!

The men ran off with their legs shaking. 

MC: Avi...

Avi: MC... Are you okay? 

MC: Yes, thank you. 

Avi: ... 

Then, Avi suddenly held my shoulders. 

MC: Avi...? 

As I was being hugged tightly in his arms, I became overwhelmed. 

Avi: ...Why did you leave like that? 

MC: I'm sorry. When I saw Fluff leaving, I got worried. 

Avi: So, it wasn't because of me again. 

MC: Avi? You didn't do anything wrong. 

He slowly lets go of me. As I looked at Avi's face in the moonlit night, his gentle faint beauty made it hard for me to breathe. 

Avi: There's something that I want to talk to you about. 

When he said that determinedly, we returned to the castle. 

After returning to the castle safely with Avi... 

Avi: About today... Sorry.

In the courtyard that was close to the castle, the periwinkle flowers bloomed from the feelings that Avi put in them. He never touched Fluff that the deceased dog left behind. Also, he stubbornly refuses to look at that portrait...

Avi: ...I didn't want to feel that way again. 

Avi placed his strong hand against my cheek. 

Avi: I ended up hurting you... How pathetic. 

Feeling pain, I couldn't help, but let teras show in my eyes. Although... 

Avi: Why are you crying while smiling? 

Avi wiped my tears as he frowned. 

MC: Sorry. But, I'm a little happy.

My heartbeat became even more lively. 

Avi: Answer my question.

MC: ...I want to see you smile. Let me support you by your side. So that I can know you more... 

I told him how I honestly felt. 

Avi: MC... 

Then... He raised my chin and placed his lips over mine at that moment.

Avi: I won't let you go. 

As he strongly held me, I wrapped my hands around his back and hugged him. We hugged each other tightly. Thus, we conveyed to each other that we would never let go no matter what. Outside the window, the burning sunrise has arrived...
