Beul - Prince of Aberdia - Sun End

Chapter 6 - The Time of the Reunion

-Flashback-

Beul: Once spring comes, come see me again.

-Flashback-

After winter has passed, I've been looking forward to the day of our reunion in spring like we promised and finally arrived at the castle of Aberdia again.

(Beul-san mentioned that he would be waiting in the castle courtyard, but...)

As I looked around, I proceeded into the courtyard. Then, past the hedges up ahead, there was a party that was set up in the clearing...

Beul: MC-chan!

At the garden table, Beul-san got up from the wooden chair.

Beul: You finally came! I've been waiting!

When Beul-san smiled broadly, he ran over to me...

Chapter 7 - Seasons Going Around, Thoughts Going Around

On the day it became spring, I reunited with Beul-san in his castle.

Beul: I'm so happy to see you. I've been looking forward to this day during winter this whole time.

When Beul-san ran over to me with a broad smile, he held my hand as he showed a smile.

MC: Me too.

We smiled at each other while holding hands.

Beul: Since we still have some time, want to go out for a bit until the party's ready? I want to show you what Aberdia is like during spring.

MC: Sure, please take me there.

When Beul-san nodded, we headed to the town as he was holding my hand.

The town was enveloped by a peaceful and bright atmosphere and I could sense the spring buds coming in. There were a couple of small cabbage white butterflies fluttering around, along with the scent of flowers and a gentle breeze passing by.

(Somehow, all of that is enough to make me feel really happy...)

Aside from me, each of the people that were walking down the road were smiling happily with the blessing of spring arriving. During my visit before winter, the market had preserved food showing on their storefronts, but today, there were spring vegetables and fresh fish on display.

MC: The market is completely different than the time I came here before...

Beul: Fufu, right? This whole time, we've only been eating preserved food until the market opens. All the people in Aberdia crave food like fresh fish once spring arrives.

MC: True, you'd get tired of preserved food if you're eating it all the time.

Beul: Yeah. Also... During fall, we're all rushing in making preserved food. When we sometimes get insufficient amounts, it causes a lot of inconveniences. But, right now, I'm doing some research on making preserved food with stuff that can be gathered in spring and summer.

MC: I see. There are all kinds of ways to use them.

Beul: Not just me, but everyone in the kingdom does it too.

After a while as we were talking and walking, we arrived at a facility that's surrounded by abundant greenery. At the open space in front of the building, children were enjoying themselves as they were playing around.

(Is this a school...?)

Boy: Ah, Beul-sama!!

Once of the boys that was playing with a ball shouted that and ran over here.

(Ah! That boy is...)

Even though his complexion looked healthier than the first time I've seen him, there was no mistaking that this was the boy that collapsed in the market.

Beul: Hey, did you hibernate properly?

Boy: Yes, I was okay!

After having a friendly chat with him for a while, the boy went back to where his friends were.

Beul: This is a shelter that the kingdom manages. It just started, so there are a lot of problems with it. I've been thinking of ways to change this facility and the kingdom itself for the good. It's like how spring comes and the seasons going around.

MC: That's really nice...

Beul: Thank you. I'm glad that I got to show you... Aberdia holding on it's own like this.

When Beul-san smiled, he squeezed my hand tightly...

Last Chapter - It's a Spring of Happiness...

After looking around Aberdia during the springtime with Beul-san guiding me, we returned to the castle courtyard again.

Added on top of the garden table in the courtyard, there were various kinds of dishes assembled as steam was rising from them.

Beul: Are you hungry? Go ahead and eat as much as you want.

MC: Yes, thank you.

Each of the assembled dishes were made with abundant amounts of spring ingredients that I saw in the market.

(They all look delicious...)

Beul: Here, eat up.

MC: Okay! ...Ah, but... Beul-san. Where are your siblings...? Also, I haven't seen the queen anywhere either...

Beul: Ah, actually...

As Beul-san's cheeks turned red, his gaze wandered around.

Beul: ...Actually, Mother took my siblings out. Since it's the day of our reunion, I told them that I wanted to spend it with just the two of us...

MC: I see...

As both of our faces turned red, we became silent for a while.

Beul: U-Uh... Ah, that's right! I caught the salmon that's been used for this salmon sandwich myself.

MC: You did? Amazing...!

Beul: Also, I went to the mountains in the back to pick these bamboo shoots with my siblings this morning. Since they've been harvested, they'll surely be delicious.

MC: Really? I'm really looking forward to it.

Beul: Fufu. Now then, let's sit down.

When I sat down in the wooden chair that Beul-san pulled out for me, he gave me a portion of the salad.

Beul: Here you go, enjoy.

MC: Thank you for the food.

As we were sitting across from each other, we exchanged smiles and started enjoying the spring meal.

Beul: ...Food that uses fresh fish ingredients really are the best.

MC: It's really delicious.

When I looked at Beul-san with that response, he made a satisfied smile as he was stuffing his cheeks with food. Seeing him like that made him look like a young boy that it was kind of cute.

(Fufu. He makes it look good when he's eating it...)

Beul: MC-chan, is something wrong? Could it be that you're already full...?

MC: N-No, I'm okay. I'm sorry. I was just in a bit of a daze because the weather is so nice...

Beul: I see, that's good then. There's still a lot more, so eat as much as you want!

After saying that with a smile, Beul-san's hands stopped.

Beul: ...That's right. Um...  I have one favor...

MC: A favor?

Beul: Y-Yeah. Don't call me childish after I ask you. It's just... I want you to feed me.

MC: Eh...!

As I was surprised, Beul-san slightly tilted his head to the side as he watched me turned red.

Beul: No?

MC: U-Uh...

(It's really embarrassing, but...)

Because of how he's acting different than usual with the pleading look that he was giving me in front of me, I couldn't bring myself to refuse him for some strange reason.

MC: Uh, then...

With my heart racing, I cut off a big bite size piece of the quiche and held it out to him on a fork.

Beul: Aah...

When I brought the quiche to Beul-san's big mouth, he showed a happy smile that he's never shown before.

Beul: ...I knew it! It tastes more delicious by having you feed it to me!

MC: R-Really...?

Beul: Yeah! Because your smile was so close by. Eating food makes me really happy.

MC: Uh, me too... Seeing you enjoy yourself from eating makes me happy...

Beul: Eh? MC-chan... I see, that makes me really happy!

Beul-san got on top of the table and held my hand.

Beul: Hey, I want to... do it one more time.

As he looked at me with a passionate gaze, Beul-san whispered that.

MC: Okay...

Underneath the gentle spring sunlight, I brought the quiche to his mouth again. During our lunch date, it felt like we were being enveloped by the sweet atmosphere that had the scent of the flowers that were starting to bloom...
