Carlyle - Prince of Corona - Sun End

Chapter 7 - Drunk

When he gently smiled, I felt pain... To distract myself from the pain somehow, I picked up the champagne and drank it all in one go.

Carlyle: Is something wrong?

Carlyle-san said that worriedly. When I felt light-headed from the alcohol, I leaned against Carlyle-san's chest.

(Since I'm a cat... This sort of thing is all right.)

Carlyle: Is this because... we're a pair of lovers?

As he chuckled with a smile, Carlyle-san petted the ears in my hair.

MC: ...I want to know more about you, Carlyle-san.

When I instantly became silent in surprise, he gently smiled again.

Carlyle: There, there. You seem to be drunk.

As he gently petted my ears, he placed my head against his shoulder strongly.

Carlyle: It'd be best for you to have this instead of alcohol.

After he said that, he picked up a small fish from among the finger foods and waved it in front of me.

MC: Geez...

Just as I suddenly became embarrassed, I turned away from him to hide my bashfulness. From behind, I can tell that he was smiling...

Chapter 8 - When the Spell is Lifted

Through my back, I can feel Carlyle-san's gentle gaze. When he slowly extended his hand, his fingers caressed my cheek.

Carlyle: Even without the ears and tail, you don't look like you can lie. When you're happy, embarrassed or troubled... Your face shows it all. No matter what, you're a straightforward woman... Just like a flower.

His arms hugged me from behind.

MC: Um...

As it felt like my breathing was about to stop, I blinked repeatedly instead of breathing.

Carlyle: ...Ah, but it would be such a waste.

MC: ...?

Carlyle: I have to part from you now.

MC: Carlyle-san?

Carlyle-san placed his lips against my cat ears. Then, when he was looking at me upfront, he murmured something...

MC: Ah...!

I saw my reflection in the glass window of the hall. The cat ears have disappeared from my head and when I touched my behind, the tail was gone as well.

Carlyle: They looked really good on you, but I made a promise.

MC: ...Thank you.

When I remembered Carlyle-san's gentle voice and his hand that petted my ears after i said that, I became a little sad.

(He won't smile like that anymore...)

Carlyle: ...Should I tell you that your invisible tail is drooping down?

MC: Eh?

Carlyle: If you had a tail, it'll surely be drooping down.

MC: Drooping down...

As I said that, I held myself back from smiling.

MC: But, I'm going to go back into becoming a human, which you dislike.

Carlyle: ...Huh?

Carlyle-san said that in shock for the first time today.

Carlyle: ...Um, don't you realize it? I have fallen for you.

MC: Eh...

Those unbelievable words made my heart skip a beat.

(Ah, I see... It was promised that the spell would be lifted if he fell in love. But, it can't be...)

As I felt myself becoming drunk more, my cheeks became very warm.

Carlyle: MC...

Carlyle-san's lips got closer.

MC: ...

When I closed my eyes by instinct, I felt a gentle kiss against my lips.

MC: Mm...

(I... Before I knew it, towards Carlyle-san.)

Due to being drunk... I felt myself pleading for more. Without saying anything, he placed both of his hands on my cheeks and took a deep breath next...

Carlyle: You truly are such an honest girl.

After the kiss ended, Carlyle-san whispered that in my ear. When he smiled at me, he spoke loudly at that spot.

Carlyle: Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention.

Carlyle-san's voice went around like a megaphone as it echoed throughout the inside of the venue.

MC: ...?

As I was blinking repeatedly, Carlyle-san smiled significantly...

Chapter 9 - The Butterfly That's Drawn to a Flower

Carlyle: Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention.

Carlyle-san's voice echoed throughout the inside of the venue...

Carlyle: I am the master of this party. As well as the first prince of the Corona Kingdom, Carlyle.

MC: Eh...!?

The venue became filled with commotion.

-Flashback-

Carlyle: I'm Carlyle. My job is involved with the arts. If it's all right, please let me show you around.

-Flashback-

(When Carlyle-san mentioned that his job is involved with the arts. Ah...! By arts, was he talking about tiaras...?)

Surprised, my mouth went agape. As people were gathering one after another, they looked at Carlyle-san with curiosity.

Carlyle: Now then, everyone, do you all remember what was written in the invitations? "I've made a special butterfly tiara. I wonder if my butterfly will perch on the best flower in the venue..." Truthfully speaking... I was kidding around. I didn't think that I would find that flower. And that this would be the last time I'll be making a tiara and crown. But, just as it was written, today, I have found my best flower.

The hall shook noisily. The gazes of the large crowd were focused on me.

Carlyle: Lady MC, come here.

Carlyle-san held his hand out to me. While feeling the gazes of many people against my back, I held his hand.

Carlyle: My apologies for not telling you. Are you mad?

Carlyle-san whispered that, so that I would be the only one that heard him.

MC: No...

Carlyle: The butterfly that was drawn to the beautiful flower. Now, please accept it.

After he said that, he took out the beautiful butterfly from his chest. The butterfly shaped tiara that looked like it was about to fly off at any moment shined like stardust. When he gently placed the tiara on top of my head, he politely kneeled in front of me.

MC: Um, I...

Once I finally brought my voice out barely, it got drowned out by the applause that came in.

Carlyle: You, who is straightforward, like a flower in bloom that's facing the sun...

When he held my hand, he gently placed a kiss on top of it...

Last Chapter - The Butterfly Fluttering in the Night Sky

As the stars that looked like they were about to fall were shining in the black night sky...

After the party ended, I was sitting on a bench near the empty flower field.

(That surprised me...)

The tiara on top of my head emitted a twinkle that could rival the stars that were shining down.

Carlyle: So, this is where you were. Did the guest room not suit your tastes?

When Carlyle-san suddenly appeared before me, he kissed my hair.

MC: No... It was so nice that it'd be a waste to sleep in it.

Carlyle: That's good. It looks good on you.

MC: Carlyle-san... For me to receive something so nice.

Carlyle: I'm glad that you accepted it. The butterfly seems happy too.

When he sat down next to me, Carlyle-san caressed my hair.

MC: Thank you... So, you were the prince. I was so surprised since you never told me.

Carlyle: ...Aside from that.

Carlyle-san strongly held me and made me sit on top of his lap to face him.

MC: U-Um...!?

I tried to move, but his long arms went around my waist and held me down.

(What should I do...!)

As my heart became noisy, I couldn't bring myself to look at him in the eye no matter what.

Carlyle: Since we're lovers... No, it should've been clear that we're lovers for real.

MC: Eh?

Carlyle: Am I wrong?

MC: N-No...

With my heart pounding so much as it tightened, I felt myself about to cry.

Carlyle: Even though you never asked about it in words, your tail showed that you accepted the kiss.

As Carlyle-san gazed into my eyes, he gently caressed my cheek.

Carlyle: I have surely become attracted to you as well.

The spot where his fingers were touching slowly went numb as it felt warm.

Carlyle: What should I do?

(It's that smile...)

Even though I don't have cat ears or a tail anymore, he was smiling lovingly. That smile made the inside of my heart throb sweetly.

MC: You're... not wrong.

When I said that shakily, he hugged me.

Carlyle: That's good. ...In that case, doing something like this would be what true lovers would do.

MC: True lovers...?

(Would it have been different if we were lovers...?)

Without giving me a moment to question that, his hand that gently caressed my hair slid down my back.

MC: Ah...

Just as my back arched backwards, my face was looking up. When I let out a cry without thinking, he covered my lips with his own.

Carlyle: Your back arching backwards like this... You really are like a cat.

MC: Carlyle-san...

Even though I wanted to talk back at him, my voice sounded sweet no matter what. As I felt his fingers on my back, they were on the ribbon behind my dress.

MC: No...

When I became embarrassed and clung onto his chest, I shook my head.

Carlyle: You don't want to?

As he whispered that in my ear, he slowly untied the ribbon.

Carlyle: I see, so you don't like it...

Even though he said that gently, his hand wouldn't stop.

(This sort of thing...)

His fingers slowly stroked my back.

MC: Carlyle-san...

As my voice sounded more like breathing, it got drowned out by the rustling of the flowers that were swaying from the wind. When his lips were gently placed against my nape, he lightly bit me next.

MC: Ow...

That pain felt affectionate as I softly clung onto his neck.

Carlyle: You're cute... MC...

As his voice, hair and fingers that were touching me felt gentle above all else, I couldn't think of anything anymore.

MC: I love you...

Just as I said that, he embraced me deeply.

Carlyle: I know.

Carlyle-san picked me up.

MC: ...

I knew where his feet were heading to.

Carlyle: How about a kiss?

Even though it was embarrassing, as I had both of my hands around his neck, I kissed his cheek.

Carlyle: Good girl... MC.

He looked at me very affectionately.

As he was carrying me, he entered the room...

(I'm happy and I love him so much that it scares me...)

Wanting to melt within the starry sky like this, I wished or that from the bottom of my heart...
