Chapter 1 - An Emergency?

Kingdom of Wonders, Wondermare, Chrono Plum... 

As the refreshing breeze caressed the green meadow, a new prince woke up in the middle of it.

Chrono: ...Mm... This place is...? 

MC: Are you okay? 

Chrono: Uh, are you... Alice...? 

When he woke up, his long ears moved as he blinked repeatedly. 

(Alice?) 

MC: No, my name is MC. You are? 

Chrono: Me? I'm, uh... 

Despite being a little drowsy, his vacant eyes widened next. When he got up in a panic, he bowed cutely.

Curious about the unusual situation, I followed Chrono-san, but... He was surprisingly fast that I lost sight of him along the way.

I followed his remaining footsteps and then, I saw a castle that looked like a church with a bell tower that had a huge clock that stood out on it.

When I called out from the outside of the castle and didn't get a response, I opened the door myself and went inside. As I searched for him, I looked around in the unfamiliar castle and... 

(Ah...) 

In the courtyard, I saw the silhouette of a tall person... 

(That's...) 

When I went to the courtyard, there were many holes that were dug in the ground. Among those holes, dirt was being dug out from a particularly big one right now. 

Chrono: Oh, no, oh, no! Not here, not there, nowhere, not a trace! Just where did I lose it... How will I face my ancestors after this!

MC: Um, Chrono-san? 

Chrono: !? You're the lady from earlier...

Chapter 3 - Who's Alice?

When I went to search for the important clock with Chrono-san... 

In the vast castle, the two of us searched for the clock. It was complicated in Chrono-san's castle, we'll reach a dead end if we go beyond the long and narrow hallways and if we go up to the second floor, the stairs will get cut off midway. 

MC: It's like a maze.

MC: !? 

Suddenly, the floor faded away and I went down vertically in a dark hole...

MC: ...!

The moment I let out a shriek...

MC: Chrono-san!?

MC: T-Thank you. Are you okay?

MC: Chrono-san, who's Alice?

Chrono: Alice is the girl that created this kingdom, Wondermare. 

MC: Eh...

Chrono: The girl that suddenly appeared in this land, Alice, all sorts of things took form around her. The forest, the town, the people... Then, the kingdom, Wondermare, was created. 

MC: I see... 

Even though it was unbelievable, I remembered that this kingdom is called the Kingdom of Wonders. 

Chrono: But, Alice suddenly disappeared. 

Chrono-san's ears sadly drooped down. 

Chrono: When Alice disappeared... Wondermare changed. Each of the houesholds respectively chose to accept it. 

MC: ...

Chrono: Well, I can't stand this kind of story. So, let's take a look at this diary. 

Trying to cheer up, Chrono-san smiled. Based on the diary, the Alice that appeared in Wondermare was following a white rabbit, like the ones in Chrono-san's household. 

(Following a white rabbit... Just like in the fairytale.) 

Chrono: ...This is a great discovery. I didn't know that my household witnessed the moment Alice disappeared. 

MC: The moment she disappeared? 

When I repeated that, I noticed an old photo in the diary. 

MC: Ah, the pocket watch in this photo...

Chrono: The power that the clock holds is even bigger than I thought. If it ends up in someone else's hands and misuses it's power, something really bad will happen!

As Chrono-san lets out a cold sweat, his huge body curled up. 

MC: Let's try searching where we started again. 

Chrono: ...Okay!

As Chrono-san's round eyes made an earnest look, he nodded deeply... 

Chapter 4 - Smiles Are the Best

Chrono: The power that the clock holds is even bigger than I thought. If it ends up in someone else's hands and misuses it's power, something really bad will happen!

-Flashback-

Despite that Chrono-san has been completely flustered this whole time, he continued searching for the clock with a serious expression. 

(I want to hurry and find it to give Chrono-san some reassurance.) 

I was keeping a close eye out. After we searched through the inside of the entire castle, we found out that the clock wasn't here... 

Chrono: Let's try going back to the meadow where I woke up in the first place. 

MC: Eh? 

Chrono: I have a feeling that I might've overlooked something... 

His ears perked up as if they were searching for something.

MC: Okay. I believe we would find something there. 

When I said that, I noticed that his expression has eased up...

......

After we went back to the meadow like Chrono-san has suggested, we split up and searched for the clock. Although, no matter how much we looked around, we didn't find the clock. 

Then, the sun was going down towards west in the sky. 

MC: We couldn't find it... 

Chrono: I'm sorry... Because I'm always so careless, I ended up getting you involved. 

Despite his huge body, he looked like a small animal as he frowned. 

MC: No, it's okay. 

Chrono: But, your adorable face looks so tired... Let's go back to the castle one more time. 

As he gently smiled, he held my hand and began to walk. 

(Such a big warm hand... But...) 

He was really down as he was walking that I couldn't find the words to say to him...

When we returned to the castle, Chrono-san took me to his room. Chrono-san's room was overflowing with big treasure chests of various sizes and small toys.

As the sunlight shined on Chrono-san, he curled up again with a sad face.

MC: ...

The two of us sighed at the same time. 

Chrono: MC-san. 

To cheer me up, Chrono-san smiled as our gazes met.

After he said those words, his consideration gave me warmth. When Chrono-san took something out of his pocket, he placed something tiny and wrapped in my hand. 

MC: This is...? 

Chrono: This is my favorite strawberry candy. Sweet things are the best when you're tired after all.

When I accepted the candy that he gave me...

The magical effect of the sweet candy brought smiles back to our faces.

He patted his pocket. As he puffed his chest out with pride, I broke into a smile for some reason.
