Chapter 7 - Serious Feelings

A few days later... I've been going to town with Foia-san more frequently. 

Foia: Next is the house that's a sorcery book shop in the market. 

MC: Do you think they'll understand? 

Foia: Since I talk seriously, my feelings will get through to them somehow. 

MC: I see... Let's go. 

Then, when we went around to each house of the people that were against the construction of the facility, Foia-san explained passionately about how the Arc Plant can provide better lives.

Once the Arc Plant is complete, we can bestow the blessings of the flame spirits and supplies to the instable area outside the kingdom! Day after day, as Foia-san would go to the protestors frequently, that enthusiasm of his eventually moved the hearts of people that were firmly against it...

Chapter 8 - A Sign of the Dream Approaching

Then... With Foia-san's efforts, he was able to reconcile wtih the people that were against the facility. As a result, the construction work and the adjustments for the trial run proceeded at a surprising speed... 

A few days later... 

We arrived at the Arc Plant that was soon close to completion. 

Foia: The day of this guy to be of help to the townspeople is almost here. 

MC: Yes, somehow... It's exciting. 

Foia: Yeah... 

As Foia-san stood in front of the facility, he looked up at the surface of the high wall. 

Foia: It was decided for the power of the spirits to be the former prince's power entirely. This time for sure, I'll be stabilizing them strongly with my power, so there won't be that much poverty among the household, but... Before I was born, the former prince's body was frail and there were times when he was unable to use the spirits' power well. 

MC: ...

I listened closely to him as he was talking with a deeper tone than usual. 

Foia: I heard that it's because of that the people have gone through a lot of hardships. But, if we get the Arc Plant running for real... No one would have to face such hardships anymore. That's what I think. Without the use of the prince's power, there'll always be equality in the never changing lives of the district and the city. Once that happens, anyone will become abundant... 

Just as he said that, Foia-san looked down as he rubbed his nose with his finger. 

MC: How exciting. Until it's running for real, I would certainly like to witness it as well. 

Foia: Of course, when I was trying to persuade the guys who were against it... You were truly a lifesaver when you were helping me. 

MC: Really...? 

Foia: ...You didn't notice? 

Foia-san only blinked when he said that in surprise. 

MC: ...Yes. Because I think it's amazing how you can do anything by yourself. 

Foia: Haha, I have a dream after all! It's not just this institution, I even want to do something about the medical care that's currently dependent on magic... I think it'd be a good idea if we could bring in science and technology, also... 

Foia-san wouldn't stop talking about his passionate thoughts. They were straightforward, overflowing with vigor and kindness that makes him act for someone so willingly. 

(Looking at him just fills me up with energy. It makes me want to stay by his side more like this...) 

As I was looking straight at him, my heart throbbed as Foia-san talked about his dream... 

Chapter 9 - Perfect Timing

Then, a few days went by while we were anticipating for it to run for real. Each time we would come to check on the facility, expectations would spread within my heart... Then, one night... 

Foia: Hey, MC. 

MC: Foia-san? What are you doing in the middle of the night? 

He spoke to me just as I was about to go back to my room to sleep. 

Foia: Do you want to... go check on the Arc Plant again for a bit? Thanks to the fire in the furnaces, it gives a nice atmosphere in the facility at night too!

Foia-san said that happily. Although, the atmosphere felt somewhat unsettling as he was moving his gaze around. 

(I wonder what's wrong.) 

While thinking that it was strange, I responded to his invitation and headed to the institution... 

Gathered around the Arc Plant, there were a lot of labor workers and people. 

MC: There are a lot more people gathered around than usual. Is something happening now? 

Foia: ... 

When I turned towards Foia-san as he was standing beside me, he looked at the facility with his chest puffed out. Then... 

Foia: ...It'll finally be complete by evening today. 

MC: Eh... So suddenly!? 

Foia: I wanted to surprise you. It'll be running for real once we fire it up, but... Won't you come witness it with me? 

He held his large hand out in front of me. 

MC: ...Yes!

Deeply overwhelmed, I held his robust hand... 

Last Chapter - The Start of Passion

-Flashback-

Foia: ...It'll finally be complete by evening today. It'll be running for real once we fire it up, but... Won't you come witness it with me? 

-Flashback-

When Foia-san took me inside the facility... 

MC: ...!

(Wow...) 

When fire lit up the inside of the furnace, the flame spirits shined a bright red. As it shined like a brilliance of life with the crackling and popping sounds and turned into flames, I became drawn towards the installments of the facility. While that beauty put me into daze for a while... 

Foia: ... 

As Foia-san was watching me, I saw something shine in his eyes. 

MC: ...Foia-san? 

Foia: It's nothing! I'm so happy because I've been working hard for so long up till now. 

Foia-san shook his head to smooth things over. 

MC: ...Congratulations, Foia-san. 

Feeling deeply moved, I told him those single words. Then... 

MC: ...!? 

My vision suddenly went up. In front of me, there was Foia-san's face... 

(He's... holding me up!?)

MC: F-Foia-san!

As the flames were shining on his gallant face, my heart started pounding fast.

Foia: Thank you, MC. For completing this facility... That's what I wanted to say. 

MC: Eh...? 

His words made me remember that time. 

-Flashback-

Foia: Alright, I'm going to make them all understand properly... To make this kingdom easy to live in, I must take action! Then, once I do that...!

(That time...?) 

When I looked at his eyes that the lights were shining on, I thought about his words from that time repeatedly.

MC: ...

Foia: ...

We looked at each other without saying anything for a while. Although, soon after, Foia-san made a lively smile. 

Foia: That's what I wanted to tell you... But, this is just the start!

MC: The start... 

He held my hand tightly. That hand was very warm and big... 

(Since it's him, I somehow feel like I can trust him...) 

Just as I thought of that, Foia-san's hand became stronger. 

Foia: Look, MC. 

MC: Eh? 

When I followed his gaze after he moved it forward... 

MC: ...!

Celebrating the completion of the facility, there were people looking over here with eyes filled with expectations. As Foia-san was looking at those people's faces, the side of his face had the look of a proper prince. The face of a leader of the household that rules over the power of the flame spirits... 

Foia: I'll be turning this into an even better kingdom, so will you watch over it forever? 

MC: Me...? 

As my body was trembling, I couldn't bring out the words right. Although, I was so happy that I nodded to him with a simple smile. 

Foia: Since you told me how the protestors felt, I'm sure that you'll do fine. 

MC: I-I only told you what they thought at that time... 

Foia: That honesty of yours is a good thing! From now on, I'm sure that they'll be times when I'll need you. But, that's not the only reason. I want to be by your side... So, I want you to be beside me from now on!!

MC: ...Okay!!

I greatly nodded towards his strong words. After he lightly sets me down onto the ground, he hugged me tightly next. 

(I could hear Foia-san's heartbeat...) 

Wanting to hear this happy sound forever, I buried my face into his chest. Then, Foia-san hugged me again. 

(So warm...) 

As being in Foia-san's chest was warming me up completely, I was sure that he'll make my heart shine brightly from now on...

When I thought of that, I silently closed my eyes...
