Chapter 7 - Feelings Changing

To evade his eye, I was currently looking down... 

Gilbert: ...Raise your head. 

Gilbert-san said that to me calmly. 

(He's probably mad.)

I nervously raised my head. Although... 

Gilbert: You... You say such strange things. 

Gilbert-san's eye didn't have that frigid coldness in it. 

Gilbert: Oh, well. I guess I should thank you for this affair. 

As I watched him letting out his hand as if he was going for a handshake, he gently held my hand with it. 

GIlbert: Thank you... 

The moment he showed me a smile, I quickly looked away from it. 

(I wonder why. I'm feeling really happy... My heart feels so warm.) 

As the moonlight shined on Gilbert-san's blue eye, it took my breath away as it shined beautifully... 

Chapter 8 - Distant with You...

Ever since Gilbert-san's life was targeted, there has been some tight security around him. Since it has become difficult to talk to him, the days of me looking at the colorful flowers in the courtyard have increased. 

(I wonder if Gilbert-san is okay. With people always watching him, he has to stay as Gary-san for a while. That's probably tough for him.) 

MC: But, since it's Gilbert-san, he'll probably tell me that there's no need for me to worry. 

Those words just came out of my mouth. Despite his harsh way of speaking, just imagining it made me feel slightly warm.

Gilbert: Thank you...

The moment I sighed. 

Gilbert: What are you doing?

As I looked up at the window from the courtyard, I thought about Gilbert-san. The next moment...

Someone covered my mouth from behind. 

(Who...!? Could it be another assassin after Gilbert-san's life!?) 

MC: Mm...!

With my body trembling in fear, I closed my eyes tight.

Gilbert: Don't raise your voice, it's me. 

(Gilbert-san!?) 

When I turned my head, Gilbert-san was making an amused smile. 

Gilbert: Such a shameful expression. Were you really that scared? 

(I was scared...) 

Gilbert-san gave me a smile. 

Gilbert: Stay quiet. 

His deep whisper echoed sweetly in my ear. As he held me with his cloak hiding me, he dragged me into an empty room... 

Chapter 9 - Just the Two of Us

After moving into a room that no one was using, Gilbert-san took a peek outside the door. I was being held tightly in his arms. 

MC: U-Um...

Gilbert: Quiet. 

When Gilbert-san told me that a second time, I heard voices calling out for him from the door. 

Servant 1: Have you found Gary-sama? 

Servant 2: Actually... I can't find him anywhere. 

Servant 1: Honestly... He still has a pile of work to do. 

MC: ...!

While I was holding my breath, so that they wouldn't find us, I felt Gilbert-san's breath right beside me. As we heard footsteps passing by, I breathed into his hand that was covering my mouth. 

(My heart is racing.)

Gilbert: ...Looks like they finally left. 

After murmuring that, Gilbert-san finally releases me. 

Gilbert: Sorry. I just didn't want anything to find us. 

MC: No... But, is this okay? Everyone is looking for you. 

Gilbert: Well, aren't you a curious one. 

MC: S-Sorry. 

(Gilbert-san's way of speaking never changes.) 

Even though he's always speaking so coldly, I'm happy and smiling for some reason. 

Gilbert: ...I'm getting tired of lying. 

MC: ...

Gilbert: That's why I brought you here. 

MC: Me...? 

Gilbert: ...For some reason, I can be honest in front of you. 

My heart skipped a beat when he said that. 

(So, he can only be honest in front of me?) 

MC: That makes me happy... 

When I suddenly said my thoughts out loud, I placed both of my hands on my mouth... 

Gilbert: ...

Even without looking up, I can tell that Gilbert-san was making a satisfied smile...

Last Chapter - With the Real You...

Gilbert: ...For some reason, I can be honest in front of you. 

MC: That makes me happy...

MC: Ah... 

Feeling embarrassed from what I just said, I hid my face. Although, Gilbert-san wouldn't allow that. 

MC: ...!

His long fingers grabbed my chin and raised it. 

Gilbert: Oh... So, you're happy. 

I couldn't look away as his bright blue eye was looking at me. 

MC: ...Yes. I'm really happy that I give you comfort. It's been a while since we've been together like this. 

As it felt like his blue eye has casted a spell, I ended up saying what I felt in my heart. 

Gilbert: ...!

MC: Gil... Gary-san. 

Gilbert: ...It's Gilbert. 

MC: ...Eh? 

Gilbert: When it's just the two of us, you don't have to call me by "Gary". I want you to call me by my real name. 

MC: But... 

Gilbert: Whenever you call me by a different name... It makes me feel pain for some reason. 

Gilbert-san said that as he frowned in pain. 

(I guess it's okay to call him that.) 

I was about to say the name that I've been thinking of this whole time. 

MC: ...Gilbert-san. 

When I said his name, Gilbert-san smiled gently. 

MC: ...!

Just as I thought he was going to praise me... He touched my head and gently petted me. 

Gilbert: You finally said it. 

MC: I have always thought about saying it. 

Gilbert: ...I see. 

He made a bit of a surprised look and then, he smiled softly soon after. 

MC: Being able to see the real you... makes me so happy. 

Gilbert: The real me... Huh. 

Then, suddenly, Gilbert-san picked me up. 

MC: Eh...

When I fell on top of the bed softly... It made a loose squeaking sound as we both got on it. 

MC: Gil-!

He interrupted me by placing a finger on my lips. Then... 

MC: ...!

With his long bangs getting close to touching me, he softly kissed me. 

MC: Gilbert-san... 

When I said that shakily, he looked straight at me. 

Gilbert: Take this off. 

MC: ...Eh? 

While holding my hand, he led it towards the eyepatch that was hiding his golden eye. 

Gilbert: I want you to take it off with your hand. 

MC: But...

Gilbert: Hurry... 

When Gilbert-san whispered me to hurry, I untied his eyepatch. 

After the eyepatch fell softly, his golden eye that looked like sweet, melted honey was revealed as it looked down at me. 

(Pretty...) 

His clear blue eye that is like the moon and his golden eye that is like a shining star. Those two colors are what made Gilbert-san's mysterious looks. 

Gilbert: This is the real Gilbert. 

Gilbert-san held my hand that had the eyepatch in it. 

MC: The real Gilbert-san...

Gilbert: I knew it... I really can be honest in front of you. 

I raised my hand and touched Gilbert-san's cheek. 

(Even though he's not Gary-san and acts as a body double. He's just Gilbert-san right here.) 

Gilbert-san whispers to me. 

Gilbert: I want to cherish you. 

Then, my back was pressed against the bed. When it became silent in the room, the only thing that can be heard were our heartbeats. 

MC: Gilbert-san... 

His hand held my wrist against the embroidered sheets. 

Gilbert: I want to see all of you. 

When I nodded to what he said, I became drawn to his beautiful heterochromia eyes. As he was looking at me, he placed his lips against my eyelids. 

Gilbert: MC... 

As his fingers rolled up my blouse, he gently touched my chest. 

MC: ...

As I was unable to speak, his lips snatched mine away. His fingers gently touched the lower part of my body... 

MC: Gilber-... 

Before I could finish, my mouth was sealed as I was melting away. I felt a sweet numbness going through my entire body.

The faint morning sunlight that was shining onto the world went through the window. As I blinked my eyes repeatedly, I remembered what happened last night. 

(I...) 

Gilbert: Have you woken up? 

As Gilbert-san was sitting near the bedside, he looked at my face. 

MC: Gilbert-san...!

When I covered my face with the bedsheets in embarrassment, he gently narrowed his eyes. With the eyepatch covering one of his beautiful eyes, I couldn't see the bright golden color. 

MC: Ah, the eyepatch... 

Gilbert: What, you seem pretty disappointed. It's your fault for waking up late. 

MC: That's not...!

Before I could finish, Gilbert-san covered my lips with his own. 

Gilbert: ...If it makes you that sad, then you can take it off again tonight. 

MC: Eh...? 

Gilbert: Until then, be a good girl. 

Gilbert-san smirked. Then, he gallantly headed towards the door. 

MC: Take care... Gary-san. 

He looked over his shoulder towards me when I said that. As he went out the door, the morning sunlight shined on his back determinedly...
