Chapter 6 - Run Away, Alice!

-Flashback-

Trumpia Guard 2: By the queen's orders, you will come with us to the castle, Your Highness. 

Trumpia Guard 1: If this girl is the real "Alice", then it is by law that she will be executed!

MC: Executed!? 

Hearts: No way...!

-Flashback-

After I was arrested by the queen's royal guards, I was put under house arrest in a room. The two people standing guard outside the room were constantly keeping a watchful eye on me. 

(What's going to happen to me...) 

I remembered the moment when I was being taken to the castle with Hearts-kun.

Person 1: Execute Alice!

Person 2: Yeah! A disaster will strike if she doesn't disappear!

When I moved my gaze towards the window... I heard something hit the window.

MC: Just now...? 

I approached the window and opened it as it made a slight sound. 

Hearts: Alice, I've come to get you. Let's hurry and escape!

MC: Hearts-kun!? Why...

It's true that it's because of Alice that this kingdom has met a disaster in the past. So, why did the past Alice do that? The Alice right now doesn't have any involvement with that... Despite that... I never thought that the past Alice was a bad person.

Hearts: No one has a reason to execute the current Alice. 

The moment he said that to me, we saw a swaying light from afar.

My shoulders were trembling unwillingly. As Hearts-kun held my shoulder, he gently patted my back at that moment. 

Hearts: It's okay, if they had found us, I would have made sure that you'd escape. I won't let them lay a finger on my Alice. 

MC: Hearts-kun... 

As he looked at me earnestly, there was a red blaze dwelling within those eyes. 

(I wonder why my heart is racing... It's like the time when we escaped before. Could it be that towards Hearts-kun, I...) 

Once I realized that, I felt my heartbeat going faster. 

Hearts: We should go soon, if we go a little further, we'll be in the forest near the border.

Hearts-kun hugged me again as he said that.

When I wrapped my hands around his back, I placed my head against his chest.

His feelings of love towards Alice and not me filled me up with pain. Then...

Hearts: Stay with me forever...

Hearts-kun's eyes looked at me firmly. Then, when he placed a soft kiss against my lips... I waited for him to say my name again...
