Chapter 5 - Blindfold

As the gentle afternoon breeze made Ira-san's wings sway... When we returned to the castle, we were enjoying afternoon tea at the terrace. 

Ira: The breeze feels nice... 

Ira-san narrowed his eyes peacefully as the breeze hit his face. 

(It really does.)

Just as I slowly closed my eyes at that moment too... 

Ira: MC-san, look out. 

My hand received a strong blow that the extreme pain made me open my eyes. 

Ira: Are you hurt!? Are you okay!? 

MC: I'm okay... 

When I opened my eyes, a large bird flew off with the cookie that it took from my hand. 

(What's a big bird doing in a place like this...?) 

The guards that were in waiting from afar went after the bird in a panic. 

Ira: That bird is an illegal breed. There are guys that come to this kingdom to sell birds from distant kingdoms to people. Birds, they'd be happier to be in nature than being held captive by people... How irresponsible of them. 

Ira-san gently held my hand and checked to see if I didn't have any injuries. 

Ira: ...Ah, you have a scratch here...

MC: Eh? But, it doesn't hurt that much, so I'm fine. 

Ira: ...Guard? Once you go and find the smuggler, won't you bring me a rifle? 

(Ah...!)

Ira: Guard, what's wrong? Do you want to be like that bird that's flying around freely in the sky and get hit by a tranquilizer gun? 

Ira-san was speaking politely.

(He's going to become "the 3rd Ira-sama"!) 

MC: Ira-san... 

(What do I do...) 

Ira: I know, about the tranquilizer gun, it'll help if you put live bullets in it. Now, hurry-

I immediately covered Ira-san's eyes with a blindfold. 

MC: Ira-san... 

I softly said his name in his ear. The cold anger that showing all over Ira-san's body was slowly calming down... 

Last Chapter - Beneath the Blindfold

After some time has passed since I put a blindfold on Ira-san...

Guard: Ira-sama... Ira-sama has never stopped from becoming the 3rd Ira-sama...!

In the silent courtyard, cheers of joy were heard. 

Ira: MC-san... 

After slowly taking the blindfold off, Ira-san turned towards me in amazement. 

Ira: This is the first time... that I've been stopped while I was feeling angry. Why a blindfold though? Are you some kind of wizard? 

(Why, he says... I only did it at the spur of the moment...) 

MC: Uh... It's because you're a straightforward person that doesn't look away from anything... That's what I think. 

Ira: What do you mean? 

When Ira-san tilted his head to the side, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards him. 

MC: Hmm... I think you'll be more mature if you overlook the various things about people. You have all kinds of reasons to do so, like you don't want to cause harm, you don't want to be bothered and you'd rather be busy with other stuff. 

As I was thinking like crazy, Ira-san looked at me with his clear eyes. 

MC: There are so many things I can describe you as, like how you are kind and gentle. Instead of overlooking things, you become angry. That's because you're a truly kind person that can't look away from all sorts of things. 

Ira: Kind...? Me...? 

MC: Yes. So... If you can't bring yourself to do so, I'll put a blindfold on you... That's what I was thinking. Because you get hurt after becoming angry. You blame yourself and regret it afterwards. 

Ira: MC... 

Ira-san looked at me in surprise. Then...

MC: Eh...? 

My vision became blocked by a warm hand.

MC: Ira-san...? Is something wrong? 

Ira: Let's stay like this for a while. 

When he said that in my ear, my heart throbbed greatly. 

Ira: I'm blindfolding you, who can see everything well. Thinking of a person's feelings like that means that you saw the painful stuff too. Also... Right now, you don't know what kind of face I'm making because I don't want you to see it. 

(Is he making an embarrassed face?) 

MC: Um... I want to see it. 

Ira: No. 

Ira-san placed his lips on the back of my neck. 

MC: ...

The very sudden kiss made my heart skip a beat. 

Ira: From now on... Will you blindfold me if it looks like my rage is about to take control over me? 

MC: ...Yes. 

When I responded shakily, I can tell that Ira-san was being bashful. 

Ira: Now... I feel that I'm going to be at peace from now on. There's just one thing that's going to be troubling though.

MC: Something troubling...? 

Ira: Yes. Even when I close my eyes, I see your smile behind my eyelids. I feel that's only going to make the blindfold pointless... What do you think I should do? 

(Ira-san...!)

Just as my heart tightened sweetly, I smiled for some reason. When I removed his hand that he was using to cover my eyes with, I softly hugged him...
