Chapter 7 - A Questionable Smile

As the orange sunlight was shining on Joshua-san's hair... Joshua-san's words and the side of his gallant face pulled my heartstrings.

MC: I'll try harder. I already promised that I won't run away. So, please teach me. 

I bowed earnestly. Then, Joshua-san looked straight into my eyes. 

Joshua: ...Then, I'll make a promise too. I'm going to turn you into the best lady. 

MC: The best... lady? 

Joshua: Even though I said that myself, it's probably going to be really annoying. Until I'm fully satisfied, you're not allowed to make any other complaints. Once I see that you have met the requirements, you'll be the best lady.

I watched Joshua-san as he took each of my clothes out one at a time.

When I called out to Joshua-san as he was waiting outside... 

Maid: Ah... MC-sama...!

MC: Eh? 

The maid looked at me in a panic and Joshua-san entered. When he widened his eyes in surprise, I tilted my head to the side. 

Joshua: ...That's a penalty. 

MC: Eh? 

Joshua: You're a lady, so you can't show such a form to a man. 

MC: What kind of form? 

Joshua: That's a negligee. 

MC: Eh...!? 

Joshua: Like in your formal world, it's something that you wear for nighttime. 

With a chuckle, Joshua-san closed the room door with his hands behind him.

As my cheeks were becoming hot, I became unable to look at his face. 

Joshua: Being in a negligee is no different than being naked. 

Joshua-san brought out a coat from the closet and placed it over my shoulders.

MC: Yes. But, not just tea, there are all kinds of different clothes too... Ah, they sell tea utensils too. 

I was feeling happy from talking about my memories as I answered his questions.

Just as I was about to talk about the tea utensils, the cup slipped from my hand and broke after falling onto the floor. 

MC: I'm sorry! Are you hurt? 

Joshua: That's a penalty. 

Joshua-san, who was quiet for the entire time, murmured that.

Joshua-san smiled as he wrapped a handkerchief around my index finger. 

Joshua: That was a joke. There's no way that I would do something like that. 

(W-What a relief.) 

Joshua: Since you didn't say a lot, there wasn't any trouble. In your position, you shouldn't talk so much. 

MC: ...Okay. 

Joshua: Just smiling while working isn't enough. Even if you don't like it, just put up with dressing up like this and smiling elegantly. 

MC: ...

Joshua: ...Your answer? 

MC: But... Wouldn't that make me no different than a doll...? I know what you taught me, but... 

I was hesitantly speaking as Joshua-san looked down at me coldly. 

Joshua: ...What did I teach you earlier? If you talk back to me... You'll really get a punishment. 

Then, suddenly, he pulled me towards him by the back of my neck.

As I was unable to understand what's happening at the moment, he snatched my lips away. Then, Joshua-san's tongue opened my mouth forcefully... 

MC: ... 

I tried to resist, but I couldn't as he held my wrists.

Joshua: All that you have to do is listen to only me. 

MC: Stop...!

When I turned my face away, Joshua-san gave me a cold look. 

MC: I... I never thought about doing something that bad. Also, only listening to you... Doesn't that sound like you're making me your doll? 

After I told him how I felt... I ran off from there.

Joshua: ...Why would she make me mad like this? Does MC enjoy talking to other guys? 

When Joshua murmured that, he went after MC.

As the inside of the castle was turning dark, I ran to my room.

He placed his lips against my hand to stop me from talking. 

Joshua: ...Sorry. So, don't say something like that. Just listen to me right now. About the kiss earlier... I was jealous. You were having so much fun talking to that guy. 

MC: ...

Joshua: Also, the dress that you chose yesterday... That was something I liked.

When I became happy from Joshua-san telling me what he thought, I smiled.

He untied the ribbon around the chest area of my dress.

As I was unable to speak at the moment, he undid the small buttons around my chest.

Those feelings and my heartbeat were contradicting each other. As his fingers lifted the hem of the dress, they went from my leg to my thigh.
