Chapter 6 - Gentle Darkness

When I slowly opened my eyes, I could hear the gentle sound of rain drizzling against the window.

Keith: You're awake. 

When I turned towards that voice, Keith-san was sitting right beside me. 

MC: Keith-san...

(I... passed out.) 

While I was lying in bed, I got up in a panic. 

Keith: Rest. I'll go get you some water right now. 

MC: I'm sorry, I...!

Keith: You have a high fever... It's because you got drenched in the rain yesterday and today. 

MC: I troubled you again...! 

Keith: It's fine. 

Keith-san gently placed his hand over my eyelids.

His gentle voice made my heart throb. Within the gentle darkness, I slowly closed my eyes... 

Chapter 7 - Nursing

The next morning... The sunlight was making the raindrops that remained in the garden shine brightly.

When Keith-san woke up early to prepare my breakfast himself, I blinked in surprise.

I scooped up some of the corn soup in a spoon and put it in my mouth.

When he held out his arm to me, he escorted me out of the castle and stopped at a beautiful horse carriage.

As he gently smiled, Keith-san offered his hand to me from the entrance to the horse carriage.

Keith-san grabbed my wrist with his other hand. 

Keith: I've taken a liking to you. 

MC: Eh... 

Keith: Didn't you want to stay by my side? 

As he was smiling, his fingers caressed my lips. 

Keith: I'll grant your wish. 

When he said that, he picked me up and made me sit sideways on his lap. 

MC: Keith-san... 

Just as I said that in surprise, he placed his elbow against the window frame and looked at me in the eye. 

Keith: ...What? 

His arm was holding me up securely by the waist. Then, he suddenly raised my chin and...

MC: Mm... 

He snatched my lips away as fast as the wind. 

Keith: Do you have any other wishes? 

Even though he asked that, I couldn't think of anything as my heart was being noisy. 

MC: No... 

Keith: I see. 

With a satisfied smile, Keith-san looked outside the window.

I thought of that as I looked at the side of that handsome face. Outside the window, the trees were starting to turn red...
