Chapter 7 - A Vague Smile

Once Dacre-san was seized by Lateria-san's subordinates that were undercover... 

Dacre: ...Looks like it's all over.

When Dacre-san looked like he has given up on everything as he was looking down in despair, Lateria-san sighed. 

Lateria: Have Dacre locked up in his room, make sure that there's someone on lookout... 

As he said that heartrendingly, my chest tightened.

Dacre: ...

Just as there was a dark look in Dacre-san's eyes, he made an empty smile.

While Dacre-san was being taken away by Lateria-san's subordinates, that expression of his made me uneasy. 

MC: ...Lateria-san. 

Lateria: Are you okay, MC? I'm so sorry. 

Lateria-san looked at me worriedly.

MC: ...

Chapter 9 - The Imprisoned Nephew

When it became deadly silent in the room again, the turmoil from earlier made me uneasy...

The maids that Lateria-san called over cleaned up the room that had a broken chair and torn up curtains. 

Once we've calmed down after looking at the room that was restored to it's original state... 

Lateria: Now then, let's go check on Dacre. 

MC: Lateria-san...!

Lateria-san made a slightly troubled smile.

MC: Can I come too...?

In his hand, he was holding a small bottle that had a poisonous looking liquid in it.

Lateria: Dacre! What are you...!!

Dacre: ...!

Dacre-san quickly opened the lid of the small bottle and drank up all the liquid in it. 

Lateria: Stop! Dacre!

Lateria-san fiercely ran over to Dacre-san and swatted the small bottle away. 

Dacre: ...!

Most of the contents was scattered on the floor, but since Dacre-san drank a small quantity of it, he was crouching down on the floor as he was suffocating in pain. 

MC: Please call a doctor right away...!

After I told that to the guard at the door, I ran over to Lateria-san as he was looking after Dacre-san. 

Dacre: I'm sorry for showing... such a disgraceful action... Please let me die like this...

Lateria: Don't say something so foolish.

Dacre: Your Highness... I... I... I'm... sorry... 

As Dacre-san was breathing roughly in pain repeatedly, Lateria-san held his hand.

Then, we heard multiple rushed footsteps in the hallway from afar... 

Last Chapter - Instead of Gelato

After that... Since Dacre-san only drank a small amount of poison thanks to Lateria-san, he was given treatment by the doctor as he was lying on the bed. 

Lateria: How's Dacre's condition? 

Doctor: His life isn't in danger. I gave him the antidote, so he'll be feeling better once he vomits it out. 

Lateria: I see...

Lateria: Make sure to watch over Dacre's condition daily and don't take your eyes off him. Aside from the front of the room, have someone looking after him inside too. 

Guard: Yes!

After hearing Lateria-san's command, I finally calmed down...

Lateria-san invited me out to the town of Amarena again.

As I hung my head down in embarrassment, Lateria-san wouldn't allow that and placed both of his hands on my cheeks.

MC: But... It's embarrassing... 

Lateria: You seemed so fragile when you're like this. Even though you looked so heroic during such a critical situation. 

MC: I was heroic...? 

Lateria: Yes, you're a woman that's truly heroic. 

MC: That's the first time someone has said that to me. 

Lateria: I was terrified when you managed to get away from Dacre when he had a dagger on you. 

MC: ...My head was filled with lots of things at that time.

Lateria: That part of you is why I can't help, but be attracted to you... Please, from now on, I want you to be my one and only heroic, sweet princess. 

MC: ...Lateria-san... 

Lateria: If I had you by my side, I can get through any kind of hardship. MC, won't you support me from now on? 

MC: ...Yes... 

When I nodded with my face all red, Lateria-san kissed my lips next. While the gelato in his hand was slowly melting...
