Chapter 6 - The Reason for Getting Injured

When I visited Leger's rom, I ran up to him while he was sleeping in bed. 

(He's sweating a lot... and he looks like he's in pain.) 

Butler: The injury isn't fatal to his body, but... The doctor said that he received a great shock mentally. 

MC: Just what happened? 

When I became agitated, I drew near the butler without thinking and... 

Leger: ...I'll explain. 

MC: Leger!? 

While breathing roughly, Leger got up from the bed. 

Butler: Leger-sama!

MC: ...Leger, please don't push yourself. 

Leger: Thank you, but I'm okay now. 

Even though he was in pain, he looked straight at me. Before I knew it, I gently touched Leger's body. 

Leger: ...At the meeting, I couldn't really go along with the policies about the topic we were discussing. Roy, who was acting as the speaker, left it alone and waited for my approval after they all came to a conclusion. Then, when Roy and I got into an argument, in the spur of the moment... 

Leger became hesitant to continue his next words. 

MC: Did Roy-san push you...? 

Leger: ...This meeting was Roy's first time as speaker and he worked really hard into preparing for it. Since he was always compared to me, his older brother, when we were kids, it made me think of all sorts of things... Like I may have ruined it all for him... I should've relied on Roy a bit more back there. 

MC: Leger... 

Leger's expression was filled with regret and sadness... 

Chapter 7 - Roy's Troubles

-Flashback-

Leger: This meeting was Roy's first time as speaker and he worked really hard into preparing for it. Since he was always compared to me, his older brother, when we were kids, it made me think of all sorts of things... Like I may have ruined it all for him... I should've relied on Roy a bit more back there. 

-Flashback-

After hearing Leger telling me that painfully, my chest tightened. 

MC: Leger, please rest for a bit... 

Leger: ...Thank you. 

Leger laid down on the bed again. 

MC: ... 

I couldn't do anything, but hold his lifeless hand. 

Butler: Roy-sama is currently in his room feeling down as well. 

MC: ...I see. 

(Roy-san must've been shocked as well...) 

After hearing that, I became filled with helplessness. Then, I started hearing Leger breathing in his sleep. 

(...I want to help Leger.) 

When I slowly let go of Leger's hand, I headed to Roy-san's room...

Once I arrived at Roy-san's room, he was looking up at the red sky in a daze through the window. 

MC: Roy-san... 

Roy: ...

He looked at me once and returned his gaze towards the window soon after. 

MC: ...Pardon the intrusion. 

I sat down in the chair that was placed near the bed. 

MC: Roy-san. Leger is asleep right now. 

Roy: Is it because of the injury he got when I pushed him...? 

Roy-san was looking at the courtyard as usual. 

MC: No, the injury doesn't seem to be fatal. It's becuase he was just shocked. 

Roy: Shocked...?

Roy-san finally looked at me. Those eyes widened from surprisin and uneasiness. 

MC: He was so shocked from being hurt by his treasured brother that it put him to sleep. 

Roy: ...That can't be the reason why that brother of mine has fallen asleep. 

MC: I'm sure that's not the reason. Leger being hated by you. I'm not sure if that's the reason, but he was troubled about that. 

Roy: ...

MC: It was because you were the one that injured him... 

When Roy-san returned his gaze to the window again, he was breathing shallowly repeatedly. 

Roy: I......

Roy-san didn't continue speaking anymore than that. Although, when I saw Roy-san's shoulders were trembling, I realized one thing. 

(Roy-san too... He regretted hurting Leger.) 

MC: I'm sorry... Please excuse me. 

As I wanted Leger and Roy-san to understand each other's feelings somehow, I quietly left the room... 

Last Chapter - Understanding His Feelings

When I returned to Leger's room, his room was covered in a gentle red sunlight like Roy-san's room. 

(Is the butler here...?) 

When I looked at the bed, Leger was making breathing sounds while asleep. Relieved from that peaceful sounding breathing, I sat down in a chair next to the bed. 

(I'll stay here for a bit longer.)

MC: ... 

Butler: Good morning. 

When I slowly opened my eyes, the morning sunlight was shining into the room brightly. 

MC: Did I fall asleep...? 

(Huh...?) 

I was lying on top of the bed that Leger was sleeping in yesterday. 

(W-What happened?) 

MC: Um... Where's Leger? 

Butler: I'll take you to him. Everyone's waiting. 

MC: Everyone? 

As I didn't know what was going on, I followed the butler from behind... 

MC: Eh... 

When I arrived at the hall that the butler led me to, the first thing I saw was Roy-san, surrounded by a large crowd of the royal family. 

(Roy-san? Even the king...? What's going on?) 

Leger: Thank you for staying by my side until morning. 

MC: Leger!

When I turned around, Leger was standing there with a bright smile. 

Leger: I'm sorry for waking up first. 

Leger placed his hand on my head and gently petted me. 

MC: Are you already feeling okay? 

Leger: As you can see, I've regained my strength completely thanks to you. 

MC: That's good... 

Leger: To show my gratitude... I wanted to hold a welcoming party for you, so I've prepared a breakfast party. 

MC: For me... 

Leger: That's right. 

When Leger combed up his hair with a smile, he gently held my hand. 

(Leger...) 

I gently held back that hand. 

King: Now then, let's begin. MC-sama, welcome to our kingdom. 

Along with the king's words, the breakfast party began. 

(Leger... Roy-san.) 

During the breakfast party, I couldn't help, but be curious about the two of them. They didn't exchange words with each other, but the atmosphere around them felt very warm...

After the breakfast party ended, I was walking in the castle hallway beside Leger. 

MC: Thank you, Leger. 

Leger: I'm the one who should be thanking you. 

MC: Eh...? 

Leger: While you were asleep, Roy came to my room. 

MC: Roy-san did!? 

Leger: Yes. You must've gone to Roy's room. 

MC: Yes... I'm sorry for doing something unnecessary. 

Leger: It's okay. Thanks to that, I got to talk to Roy properly. Roy and I planned that breakfast party together. 

MC: Really!? 

Those words filled my heart with a warm feeling. 

(That's good...!) 

Just as I broke into a smile happily... 

MC: ...!

Leger's hand that was holding mine suddenly held my waist. 

Leger: MC, let me show you my gratitude from the bottom of my heart. 

While Leger was holding me, he placed a kiss on the top of my hand. That soft sensation made my heart pound strongly that it became hard for me to breathe. 

MC: Leger... 

Leger: You drove away the dark feelings that were living within me. If I had lost to those feelings... I don't think I would've been able to recover. I can't thank you enough... Thank you so much. 

MC: I... didn't do anything. 

The warmth of his lips that touched my hand made my cheeks red. 

Leger: There's no need to be so modest. Well... That's what I like about you though. 

MC: !!

As I was reflected in Leger's eyes, my face was turning even more red. 

Leger: This time, won't you... accept my feelings? 

He wrapped his long arms around my neck and pulled me towards ihm. 

MC: ... 

Leger: ...Is that all right? 

As I was charmed by his sweet voice and beautiful eyes, I lightly nodded. 

Leger: Thank you... I love you, MC. 

His lips gently touched mine. The warm and gentle kiss filled me with happiness... 

(Me too... Towards Leger...) 

As I entrusted myself to him, I slowly closed my eyes...
