Michiru - Prince of Buldrome - Moon End

Chapter 6 - Even Though We Finally Get to Meet

Michiru: That's...!

Michiru-kun ran off with a broad smile.

MC: Michiru-kun...!

After following him from behind, the blue bird quietly landed at the roots of a tree. Although...

Michiru: ...!

The blue bird looked exhausted as if it's life had come to an end.

Michiru: Hey, it's me...! Hey, get up...! Let's go home together...!

Michiru-kun picked up the blue bird and frantically talked to it.

Michiru: Hey, we finally got to see each other again, right!?

He petted the blue bird's wings many times... At that moment... The blue bird softly chirped at Michiru-kun.

Michiru: You're saying... goodbye...?

The light in Michiru-kun's eyes disappeared.

Michiru: No! Don't say something like that! Don't die... Please!

(Michiru-kun...!)

Despite all, the blue bird didn't move again...

Chapter 7 - Like a Sad Storm...

After the blue bird quietly passed away in Michiru-kun's hands... It began to rain.

The rain that was making the ground wet was like the tears in Michiru-kun's heart.

MC: Michiru-kun...

As it was raining, I pulled Michiru-kun's sleeve to get him into the shade of a tree. Although, Michiru-kun was like a rock and wouldn't move.

Michiru: I know... You're hungry, right? Here, I have the treats that you like. Here...

Michiru-kun desperately tried to put the treat in the blue bird's mouth.

MC: Michiru-kun...

(He's not going to eat that anymore...)

Michiru: How could you say something like that!?

MC: ...!

When he pushed my arm away, I ended up falling to the ground. The grass that got wet from the rain made my skirt wet.

Michiru: Ah...

MC: Michiru... -kun...

Michiru: Sorry... I'm sorry...

As the rain instantly got stronger, it dampened our hearts. The rain on Michiru-kun's cheeks looked like tears.

Michiru: I... I didn't find him on time... That's why, he's...

MC: No... That's not true, Michiru-kun. He... He didn't want you to watch him die. That's why... He flew away from you.

Michiru: That can't be...

MC: He probably thought that you would understand because you treasured him more than anything... But, I'm sure that... He was happy that he got to see you in the end... That's what I think.

Even though I stopped my words, I tried to talk to Michiru-kun with all my might.

Michiru: I don't understand...! I can't live in this world without him...! Even though he knew that, just why...

(Michiru-kun...)

Michiru: You... You should've taken me along too...

(That's...)

The rain relentlessly poured on Michiru-kun as he hung his head down with the blue bird in his hands. Michiru-kun gently held the blue bird to his chest to protect him from the cold rain. At that moment...

MC: Kya...!

A bright light from the sky entered my vision. As the raging lightning roared, the ground shook.

(Lightning...?)

I slowly opened my eyes after closing them in surprise. Then...

MC: Michiru-kun!

He fell near a tree, where the lightning fell earlier. Underneath a branch, Michiru-kun collapsed like the blue bird.

MC: Michiru-kun! Michiru-kun!

After moving the branch away, I held Michiru-kun up with shaky hands. Although, Michiru-kun wouldn't open his eyes as his hand was hanging lifelessly.

(What should I do...)

On Michiru-kun's chest, the blue bird was lying on it's side.

MC: No... You can't, Michiru-kun...

I strongly held Michiru-kun close to my chest as he was limp.

MC: Michiru-kun...!

The pouring rain silently drowned out my shouts...

Last Chapter - Even If You Forget Everything

Since then... Thanks to the townspeople's help, the lifeless Michiru-kun was somehow taken to the castle. Then, many days have passed...

(Michiru-kun...)

As the gentle sunlight was shining on Michiru-kun's cheek from the window, his eyes wouldn't open as he continued to sleep.

(What if he doesn't wake up...?)

While Michiru-kun had his eyes closed, it looked as if he was refusing to believe that the blue bird is gone. I gently touched his pale cheek.

(Michiru-kun... Please come back...)

At that moment...

Michiru: Mm...

MC: ...!

His eyes moved and then, they slowly opened.

MC: Michiru-kun...!

(Thank goodness...!)

MC: Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere? How are you feeling?

Feeling happy, I asked a barrage of questions to Michiru-kun. Although...

Michiru: ...Miss... Who are you?

MC: Eh...?

(Michiru-kun... What did you just say?)

As I was bewildered, Michiru-kun tilted his head to the side oddly.

Michiru: Huh...? I...? Where am I...?

MC: Michiru... -kun...?

(Could it be that his memory has...? All because he couldn't accept the blue bird's death...?)

When I thought of that just now, I frantically tried to deny that fact.

(No... If he reads my mind, he'll go into shock again.)

As I quickly shut out those thoughts, Michiru-kun looked at me.

Michiru: What's wrong?

MC: Eh...?

Michiru-kun looked at me blankly.

Michiru: Why do you look so sad?

(Could it be that he didn't read my mind...? Michiru-kun, can you hear my thoughts...?)

I tried to talk to him through my mind, but...

Michiru: Did something sad happen...?

(I knew it...)

I began to realize how large Michiru-kun's sorrow was at that time.

(...Michiru-kun, it was painful, wasn't it...)

Michiru: Miss?

Michiru-kun looked at me with a surprised expression. Then...

Michiru: Don't cry...

Michiru-kun gently touched my cheek. When I felt his fingers that were getting wet from some water drops, I began to realize that my own tears were falling.

MC: ...

Michiru: Somehow, seeing you cry is making me sad... I wonder why... My heart hurts...

Tears were falling from Michiru-kun's cheeks as he said that.

MC: Michiru-kun...

In return, I caressed Michiru-kun's tears with my finger.

(How could you be so kind... Despite that you have forgotten about everything...)

Michiru: Ah, Miss, look.

Michiru-kun noticed something and pointed towards the window.

Michiru: How cute. A blue bird is flying. Every part of it's body is blue like the sky. How pretty.

His happy smile had no suffering and was strangely warm.

(Michiru-kun...)

That smile was giving me pain.

MC: ...It really is.

As my lips were shaking, I forced myself to smile. Although...

Michiru: Miss, do you feel better? Did you stop crying?

When Michiru-kun smiled like a flower in bloom, tears fell from my eyes again.

Michiru: Miss, did I do something? Do you hate me?

As Michiru-kun was worrying about me, he looked at my face.

MC: No...

(It'll be fine...)

-Flashback-

MC: I love you, Michiru-kun... I won't leave you...

Michiru: Will you love me forever?

MC: What are my thoughts saying?

Michiru: They're saying that you love me...

-Flashback-

Suddenly, I remembered the promise from that time.

(That promise and what I said... He forgot about it all...)

My heart became filled with pain.

Michiru: Miss...?

(I'll say it many times...)

MC: ...I love you, Michiru-kun.

Michiru-kun widened his eyes oddly. Then...

Michiru: Geez, you're such a crybaby, Miss...

As if he was trying to comfort me, he gave me a kind smile.

Michiru: But... That made me really happy... Thank you.

When he said that, he gently hugged me as if he was protecting me from the sadness.

MC: I love you...

Sadness was no longer controlling Michiru-kun's heart. From here on, I'll fill it with gentle feelings... With both words and thoughts.

(I love you...)

No matter what, I'll convey those words to Michiru-kun many times...
