Rosso - Prince of Ancura - Moon End

Chapter 6 - Something to Fear

When the sound of violent rain and thunder was suddenly heard, Rosso-san stopped talking to me. Outside the room, the sailors were running around in a panic.

Rosso: Thunder...

I looked at Rosso-san when I heard him say that as his voice got drowned out...

MC: Rosso-san...? Are you okay!?

Rosso-san trembled with a pale face.

Rosso: Ah, yeah. I'm fine.

MC: But, your complexion...

At that moment...

MC: ...!

Rosso: ...!!

The loud sound of thunder roared and made the ship shake.

Rosso: ...

The usually bright and bold Rosso-san was strongly holding onto a pillar with a pale face.

(Could it be that Rosso-san is afraid of storms...?)

-Flashback-

Rosso: Long ago... There was a stormy night... This ship received some serious damage and I lost my group of friends here.It was a strong storm. I was unable to steer and the ship ended up crashing into a cliff... Most people survived, but I let those guys die...

-Flashback-

Rosso: I'm... okay...

Despite Rosso-san's hoarse voice, it got drowned out by the roaring sound of thunder...

Chapter 7 - Trembling Hand

During the sudden raging thunderstorm, Rosso-san and I were completely pale.

Rosso: ...Still, if I had looked out for everyone... They would have been saved...

As Rosso-san was being hard on himself, he murmured that while trembling.

MC: Please don't push yourself, Rosso-san.

Unable to bear it, I sat right next to Rosso-san.

Rosso: Whether I'm pushing myself or not, I couldn't protect them... How am I supposed to protect anyone else now?

When he said that remorsefully, his hand trembled a bit more as it held onto the pillar.

(Is Rosso-san... afraid of thunder? Or maybe... Is he afraid of losing his friends again?)

MC: Rosso-san, you still need to maintain the ship. I'm here too... So, I'm sure that it'll be fine.

Rosso: ...

I gently placed my hand on top of Rosso-san's as it was trembling.

MC: Just for a bit... Until you calm down... Let's stay like this.

Then, I gently and strongly held his hand with both of mine.

Rosso: MC...

He looked at me with frail eyes. His frightened look and his blood drained lips made my chest tightened.

Rosso: MC...

When he said my name, I smiled gently at him.

MC: Yes, I'm here.

Rosso: Yeah...

Rosso-san lightly casted his eyes down. Right now, there was a severely helpless expression on his face that was usually strong and cheerful.

(Please, let the storm pass at this very moment...)

I didn't move as I continued praying for that...

......

After a while... As if my prayers have been answered, the storm has passed and the ocean was beginning to calm down.

(Thank goodness...)

After I sighed in relief, I loosened my grip around Rosso-san's hand. When Rosso-san looked around him...

Rosso: Sorry...

He muttered those few words.

MC: No... There's no need to apologize.

Rosso: No... No matter what, memories of what happened on that day will come up... Even now, I still flinch from thunder. I'm such a pathetic man...

MC You're not...

While I searched for the words to say, Rosso-san shook his head.

Rosso: Just like the day when I lost my friends, there was a storm just like today's with violent thunder raging... At that time, I was so worked up and thought that it was no big deal... I... I killed them all...

MC: That's not true... Please don't say that.

Before I knew it, I held his hand tightly again and...

MC: ...!

Rosso-san hugged me. As he was holding me tightly, he was murmuring as if he was chanting a spell.

Rosso: Forgive me... Please, forgive me...

My heart felt pain as if it was being crushed by his painful atonement. As I was enduring it, I returned Rosso-san's embrace to protect him. That is when I became worried about the curse that was put on him...

Last Chapter - Together Like This Forever

Rosso-san's past and his heart that was filled with darkness... I was unable to find a way to free him from those things that were devouring him.

(How can I save Rosso-san...?)

No matter how much time has passed, I couldn't find an answer to his troubles and before I knew it, a month has passed since I've been on the ship.

Rosso: Ah, MC, so this is where you were. The nightly breeze is cold. You should head back to your room soon.

While I was looking at the stars from the top of the ship, Rosso-san called out to me.

(Come to think of it, the sun has already gone down for the day...)

I became a little scared of how I didn't notice that time was passing by.

MC: I understand. I'll head back to my room.

Rosso: Yeah, good.

Rosso-san smiled lightly. In such short time... I noticed that Rosso-san's smile has changed.

(When we first met, it was brighter and had a cheerful air around it. Could it be because of that day of the storm...?)

Rosso: MC? What's wrong, you're making a gloomy face.

MC: ...!

When I realized that I was thinking about it, I suddenly looked at him.

Rosso: MC?

MC: N-No. It's nothing.

Rosso: Really? Then, go back to your room now.

As he gently pushed my back and made me walk, I turned to look at the vast ocean and the islands on the other side of the ship once more.

......

A little while later... I didn't feel like leaving the ship. The ship landed at a small island to secure some food provisions and until that's done, the ship will depart.

(Since I have been wearing these clothes for a while now... I would like to go shopping for some new ones at a bigger town.)

When I thought of that, I went to tell Rosso-san my request.

Rosso: MC? What's wrong?

MC: Um, I have a favor...

Rosso: What is it, tell me. Aren't we friends now?

I felt relieved from seeing Rosso-san's bright smile.

MC: Um, actually...

Although... When I told Rosso-san my request, he suddenly made a stern expression.

MC: ...Rosso-san...?

The atmosphere in the room felt cold.

Rosso: If you want to go shopping, I'll do it for you. You said that you wanted some clothes, right?

When my spine trembled from Rosso-san saying that deeply, he slowly walked towards the door and closed it with a key.

(Eh?)

Nothing came to mind as I couldn't understand what he was doing.

MC: Rosso-san...?

Rosso-san quietly went behind me and...

MC: ...!

He hugged me from behind and placed his lips against my ear. I had an indescribable feeling creeping up my back.

Rosso: MC... I don't want you to leave me.

MC: Eh...?

When I turned around to check on him, he placed his lips on my ear and hugged me tightly.

Rosso: You leaving me... I don't want that...

Despite his teary voice just now, I was unable to get away from his strong arms.

Rosso: Besides, you're the only one that I don't want leaving from my side... You won't... disappear, right?

(Rosso-san...!?)

Rosso: Hurry... and say yes.

His faint and painful words continued going into my ear.

MC: I...

While I was hesitant to say it, his arms around me got stronger.

Rosso: Hey... Hurry. Say it, you did at that time...

-Flashback-

Rosso: MC...

MC: Yes, I'm here.

-Flashback-

(That time...)

As if I have been brainwashed, I...

MC: Yes... I won't leave you, Rosso-san.

I gave him a nod.

Rosso: Phew... Kuku... Really? Because there's no need to feel sad now. I've lost a lot of friends, but... With you right now, I don't feel sad anymore...

Rosso-san softly buried his face in the top of my shoulder. On my nape, I felt the warm sensation of his lips... Unable to bear it, I closed my eyes tight.

(Is this all right...? Something like this... is no good, right...?)

When I thought of that, I was unable to resist Rosso-san. Before I knew it... I gently placed my own hand on Rosso-san's as he was hugging me.

Rosso: You're... already mine...

After whispering that to me, he blew into my ear. As I was unsure on what was the right thing to do... I couldn't think of anything at the moment and entrusted my body to Rosso-san...
