Chapter 6 - Troubles

The moon was emitting a pale light sadly. That night when we heard the story from the old woman...

Saiga: ...The water in the well is increasing because MC and I have gotten too close lately. 

-Flashback-

I thought about those words many times. 

(If what he said is true, then I don't think that I should be staying here.) 

When I thought of that, I felt how difficult it was going to be to part from Saiga-san.

Saiga: It's okay. You don't need to tell me, I can tell how you're feeling.

Saiga: I want you to tell me more about what kind of person you are.

Saiga: ...The water in the well is increasing because MC and I have gotten too close lately.

As I tightly clenched my hand, I headed over to where Saiga-san was... 

Chapter 7 - Trembling Eyes

(This kingdom's weather is really mysterious...) 

When I looked outside, the moon was out while the rain continued pouring down. After I arrived to where Saiga-san was, I stared at the scene of him sitting at the edge of the window in his room. 

MC: ...

As Saiga-san was looking at the moon, he looked as if he was this world's delicate divine symbol. 

(Pretty...) 

That beauty took my breath away. 

Saiga: ...It's you. 

While he was looking outside, he murmured that with a sigh. 

MC: Y-Yes. 

Saiga: Isn't the moon beautiful during this downpour? Since I have the power to call forth so much rain... I can create this kind of beautiful scene. 

His sorrowful profile made my heart ache. 

Saiga: You too... Do you like beautiful things? 

MC: Eh...? 

My eyes widened from Saiga-san's sudden question. 

Saiga: ...What a strange thing to ask. It's impossible to hate beautiful things. 

Saiga-san laughed self-mockingly with a sad look. 

MC: Saiga-san...? 

As his expression filled my heart with pain, he suddenly approached me...

MC: ... 

Saiga-san held my shoulders with his long hands. 

Saiga: ... 

Without saying anything, Saiga-san just hugged me and looked outside...

MC: ... 

While not being perturbed by anything, Saiga-san's eyes trembled as if they were captivated by the moonlight. 

Saiga: I know what you were going to say to me. 

MC: ...I... 

As I felt warmth from his hands to my shoulders, the words that I was about to say got sucked up by the air. 

(I don't want to part from him...)

Saiga: ...

Saiga-san looked at my face. 

Saiga: I don't want you to leave, so won't you wait until tomorrow? 

MC: ...

When he said that with an unusually serious tone, I gave him a single light nod. 

Saiga: Sorry... 

The moonlight shined on Saiga-san's beautiful appearance. As it looked like he was about to vanish within that light, my heart throbbed greatly... 

Last Chapter - A Decision for the Future

The next day at night... When I accompanied Saiga-san, we arrived in front of the usual well that had an increase in it's water level. 

Saiga: I see. It's clear that a strong spiritual power is dwelling within it. 

MC: What do you mean? 

Saiga: I don't mean to brag, but... Since I'm also the head of Irogu's household, I possess a strong spiritual power. 

MC: Could the spiritual power that's being used is...? 

Saiga-san affirmed my words by smiling silently. 

Saiga: It's a good thing that we talked about this quickly from the start. 

When Saiga-san said that somewhat briefly, I felt a little relieved. 

MC: That's good, so you have a way? 

Saiga: Yes. It's just that... It might scare you. 

After he said that, he softly placed his hand on his chin as he was thinking about something. 

Saiga: Scaring you feels a little harsh... Me doing something like that is shameful and troubling.

I slightly tilted my head to the side as I tried to understand what he meant. Saiga-san made a troubled smile from seeing me do that.

Saiga: Probably until you leave me. 

MC: ...No way!

The moment Saiga-san said that, particles of a divine light immediately began to surround his body.

MC: Saiga-san!

I frantically looked at him to make sure that he was there. 

(Just what is happening?) 

Saiga: ...

When he moved from that spot and stood still, the light's power got a little bit weaker. 

(A big... fox?) 

When I slowly opened my eyes, I saw the form of a large fox with glossy white fur all over his body... That majestic presence and intensity took my breath away. 

(...Saiga-san.) 

Saiga: ...

After Saiga-san turned into his fox form, he did some kind of chant. Then, light sudden came out from the inside of the well. 

Saiga: ...!!

MC: !? 

The intense pillar of light shined as it went up towards the sky. 

(Pretty... It's like an intense Milky Way...) 

Then, after a while... The sudden river of light disappeared... 

Saiga: That'll do it. 

When Saiga-san said that with a changed expression, I quickly ran over to him. 

MC: Saiga-san...!

Saiga: You... Weren't you scared? 

MC: No... It was really amazing. 

The moonlight shined on his well-featured fur and made it even more beautiful. 

MC: Saiga-san... Can I touch you? 

Without thinking, I asked him that question. 

Saiga: Do as you like. 

I slowly reached out towards his neck. 

(He's soft... and warm.) 

As I tried touching him softly, I felt his gaze on me and looked up at his face. 

(Even though his form has changed, I know that he's still Saiga-san.) 

His huge beast eyes were different from before. Even so, within those bright jade eyes is Saiga-san's gentle warmth. 

Saiga: MC... 

Saiga-san's large, long tail lightly wrapped around my waist. 

(Somehow, it feels like he's protecting me...) 

MC: ...This form somehow makes you feel big. 

Saiga: You're the only one who's small. 

MC: T-That's not true.

Saiga: Hahaha, there's no need to get mad. 

Saiga-san held me tightly and cuddled with me by rubbing his snout against my head. 

Saiga: ...You really are interesting. I'm looking forward to spending a hundred years with you from here on. 

(A hundred years...) 

That seemed like a really long time for me and just a short amount to Saiga-san... 

(Even so...) 

I thought about a future filled with happiness from spending time with him from here on. As I leaned in towards his warm body, I slowly closed my eyes...
