Chapter 7 - Unsettling Feelings

The scattered cries of the crows were heard throughout the scarlet dyed town... 

Subaru: ...No, it's nothing. Don't worry about it. 

Despite what he said, Subaru-san looked towards the alley with a stern expression. 

(Is something wrong...?) 

Then, at that moment... 

Townswoman: A bandit! Another bandit has appeared!

Subaru: !

After hearing someone screaming from afar, Subaru-san's body moved by reflex. 

(A bandit... Come to think of it, a townsperson said that there's been an increase of them before...)

As I was still perplexed, he placed his large hand on my shoulder. 

Subaru: Hey, you looked around the town enough, right? Go back to the castle for today.

Chapter 8 - Lowering His Fists

When Subaru-san ran into the darkness, I couldn't see him anymore.

Townswoman: A bandit! Another bandit has appeared!

Subaru: ...Tsk, guess it can't be helped. 

-Flashback-

(Looks like Subaru-san is really going after the bandit.) 

When my feet ended up heading towards the alley due to feeling worried, I gripped my hand. 

-Flashback-

Subaru: If there's another place that you want to go to, we can go tomorrow. So, go back for today, got it? 

-Flashback-

(Since he was worried, I should head straight back from here.) 

Feeling reluctant, I walked towards the castle within the crowd of people. Although, the next moment... 

MC: !? 

A hand pulled me into an alley and took away my freedom. When I cried out in pain from my arms being pinned down, I twisted my face around. 

(What...!?) 

Bandit 1: You're the woman that was with Prince Subaru, right? 

When I looked around as my mouth was covered, there were some rough looking men with vulgar smiles.

As I was being held captive by the men, they took me to a gloomy cave outside of town. When my body coiled up from the mild win, it made the eerie vibe increase unnecessarily. 

(This place is...) 

??: You won't escape!

(That voice just now, Subaru-san?) 

After hearing that shout from the center, I was dragged out into the middle of the quarrel. 

Bandit 1: Don't move. 

Subaru: !

As Subaru-san was in the center of the angry voices, he was surrounded by 10 men. When Subaru-san saw me, the bandit intended for him to lower his raised fists. 

(Subaru-san...!) 

Just as I was about to speak, my body stiffened up from feeling the cold sharp edge of the blade against my neck. 

MC: ...!

Bandit 1: Don't you care about what happens to this woman? 

Subaru: ......You bastard, what are you trying to pull? 

With a boiling rage in his eyes, Subaru-san set his gaze on the man that was holding me. 

Bandit 1: Nothing at all. As you can see, we have your woman as hostage. 

Subaru: Dragging a woman into this, what a cowardly thing to do. 

Bandit 2: Hey, you can do what you like. Come on, try to interfere. 

Subaru: ...Tsk. 

Despite how many opponents he's going to fight, Subaru-san's body is going to end up getting hurt... 

MC: Subaru-san, don't worry about me...!

Subaru: Shut up, just stay quiet for a bit. 

When he said that deeply, it made my shoulders jolt up. What he said made the bandits flinch for a moment too, but they smiled when they saw him lower his fists. 

Bandit 1: Get him!

With that call as a signal, the men threw punches at Subaru-san all at the same time. 

MC: Subaru-san!

While hearing multiple beating sounds, Subaru-san's face and body turned red. Even so, he continued to endure it by clenching his fists as he was getting beat up... 

Chapter 9 - Fists Swinging

The angry shouts and vulgar laughter roughly echoed within the dark cave... 

Subaru: ...Is that all... 

Despite how many times he's been hit, Subaru-san smiled at them with his fists still clenched. 

Bandit 2: Dammit... You bastard!

Subaru: !

When Subaru-san got punched in the cheek, he got blown towards a stone wall. 

MC: Subaru-san!

As I was taking short deep breaths, I looked up at the man that was holding me. With the man being distracted from watching Subaru-san getting beat up, I could escape without him looking. 

(If I do it now... He probably won't notice.) 

Once I took a deep breath, I managed to hold down the rash feelings in my heart. 

(It's all or nothing...!) 

When I made up my mind, I headbutted the man's chin with all my strength. 

Bandit: Ugh! 

After receiving that impact, the man rolled off and I was free. Subaru-san didn't overlook that small moment. 

Subaru: Oraah!

When Subaru-san immediately shortened the distance, he pulled me towards him and punched the man with all his strength. As soon as I was in his arms, I sensed that the man has fallen. 

Subaru: Geez, you overdid it. 

MC: I'm sorry, I was desperate and I did it without thinking... 

Subaru: Haa, don't apologize. Thanks to that, I am free to beat these guys up. 

Subaru-san smiled a little and hid me behind his back. 

Subaru: You bastards... I won't forgive you! Prepare yourselves!!

Once he was back to clenching his fists, his sharp shout was like a thundering roar. With those fists going straight towards the bandits, he raised them greatly... 

Last Chapter - The Gentle Loving Tiger

When the white moon has risen in the sky, it softly shined on the completely silent town... After the bandits were taken down, Subaru-san and I quietly returned to the castle without anyone noticing.

Subaru: I'll go notify the guards properly later, let's go back. 

MC: Eh? But, Subaru-san, wouldn't it be best to... 

Subaru: There's no need to. 

-Flashback-

When we entered through the back gate while avoiding attention, we went through the courtyard without making a sound. The moonlight shined on Subaru-san's injured face. 

MC: Um, is your body all right?

MC: But... 

(He got those injuries because of me being held hostage...) 

Subaru: I said I'm fine. This is normal. 

(Normal? Don't tell me...)

(The time when we met, that disturbing rumor in town and everything, it was really...) 

MC: Subaru-san, have you been protecting the townspeople by yourself this whole time like this? 

Subaru: ... 

Subaru-san kept silent and after a while, he sighed deeply as if it was a bother. 

MC: That's it... Right? 

Subaru: ...Even so, it doesn't change the fact that my fists end up hurting people. You ended up getting involved as well. "Noble", it was such pointless talk from the start. 

Then, Subaru-san looked at the enshrined stone monument in the garden.

MC: So please, don't torture yourself like that. I'll get it through the townspeople. That you're a kind person, Subaru-san... 

When I said that, the fist that I was touching unraveled slowly... 

Just as I was about to continue speaking, he strongly pulled me into his arms and stopped me. 

MC: !

As I was held tightly in his arms, his warm breath touched my hair. 

Subaru: You don't need to do that... I'm fine with just you knowing about that. 

When his slightly trembling voice touched my ear, it made my chest tightened. 

MC: Subaru-san...

When I touched Subaru-san's chest, I can hear his loud heartbeat.

When I moved my hands from his back, I wrapped them around his neck.

Contrary to the sharp canine tooth that he was showing in his mouth, he was looking down at me with a gentle gaze... I accepted the gentle hungry kiss and strongly wished for a future with him...
