Chapter 5 - Final Request

Totori: ...My apologies, MC-san.

-Flashback-

The pain in my heart continued all night. 

The next morning... When I left my room with my luggage, I stood in front of Totori-san's room. 

(Before I leave this kingdom... I want to talk to Totori-san one more time...) 

When I thought of that, I looked at the door before me and... 

MC: ...!

Totori: Ah, MC-san... 

The door opened and Totori-san appeared from the room. 

Totori: Perfect timing. I was thinking about going to town to see you off. 

MC: Um... 

Totori: ...? 

My heart was filled with painful feelings...

MC: Totori-san... Can we spend some time together for just a little while longer? 

I ended up saying that. 

Totori: ...

After it was silent for a bit... 

Totori: I understand. We can spend some time for a bit.

MC: The wind feels nice... 

Totori: Listen carefully. The sound of the tree leaves swaying is pleasant.

Once I understood the reason, I blinked to stop the tears. 

Totori: ...The sun has already gone down... We should return to the castle soon. 

When Totori-san looked away from me, he quietly got up from the bench. 

MC: ...Okay. 

After wiping away the tears, I walked beside him as we headed to the castle...

In the castle hallway, Totori-san and I were walking silently. 

(Now, this really is the last time...) 

I gripped my chest as I was feeling such a suffocating pain and... 

Totori: ...Was it because of me?

Totori-san suddenly said that. 

Totori: The reason why you looked so sad... 

MC: ... 

Losing focus, I could feel my tears about to fall again...

Totori: Yes, so once you learn some more in time, won't you come walk with me in this kingdom again? We can hold hands together like this. 

His manly bony fingers entwined with mine.

Totori: Yes. I promise. 

MC: Totori-san... 

Totori: I'll always wait for you... 

When we made that promise with each other, I left Torial with sadness. 

Every day, I'll be looking forward to coming to this kingdom to see Totori-san again someday...
