Chapter 7 - A Closed Decision

MC: Vega-san... What do you want to do? 

While knowing about the assassination plan of his friend, Vega-san's eyes trembled from what I said as he was in agony. Although, Vega-san hesitantly shook his head and showed a face that looked like he has firmly thought about his decision. 

Vega: I... 

As he was hesitant to speak at the moment, he closed his mouth with an uncertain look.

MC: Vega-san... Altair-san is... 

Once I got my breathing in order, I told Vega-san everything that I heard earlier.

Vega: ...Thank you for telling me. You must've been scared. 

Vega-san placed his hand on my back to reassure me.

Last Chapter - Revealed Feelings

To go after the assassination that's heading to the East Kingdom, Vega-san and I arrived at the bridge that's over the large river. 

Vega: Let's cross over. 

Just as Vega-san said that... 

Servant: Vega-sama...!!

A servant appeared running quickly by horse and cut us off by standing in front of the bridge. 

Vega: ...!

Vega-san and I looked at each other. 

Servant: I've come to give you an urgent message from Deneb-sama. He wanted me to hand it over to you immediately, so I've been searching for you. 

Vega: ...From Deneb?

(Deneb-san...?) 

When Vega-san accepted the letter from the servant, he removed the wax seal and quickly read it's contents. 

Vega: ..."Altair is fine, so don't go overboard. You need to do something about your kingdom first. P.S. I'll treat you to a candy apple in the next star festival."

As soon as Vega-san read that out loud, he crouched down at that spot. 

Vega: Thank goodness...!

When Vega-san sighed deeply, he turned towards me again with a nod and then, he called out to the servant. 

Vega: That must have been troubling. I want you to return to the castle and give Deneb this message, "I understand, thank you". 

Servant: Understood... I'm glad that nothing happened to you, Vega-sama.

With our thoughts at the vicinity of the bridge, Vega-san made a wry smile from the conjuring servant's words. 

Servant: Panos-sama... An investigation on him being the mastermind has been carried out. If he had assassinated the prince, he would have taken advantage of the war that could have happened between both kingdoms and it seems like he had planned to kill the king with his own hands. 

Vega: That can't be... 

When Vega-san widened his eyes in surprise, but composed himself immediately from what the servant said. 

Vega: I'll handle this by taking responsibility for this matter. Gather some evidence to dismiss Panos of his position. I'll be returning soon. 

Servant: Yes...!

Once the servant bowed, he got on the horse and left. 

Vega: ...

As Vega-san made a stern expression, he suddenly lost his strength. 

Vega: ...The one who sent that letter earlier was a friend of mine and Altair's, Prince Deneb from a neighboring kingdom. 

MC: It would seem so...! It's good that nothing happened to Prince Altair.

Vega: ... 

Vega-san chuckled with a smile and then, he looked up at the night sky. 

I followed his gaze and looked up at the sky as well... 

(The stars are pretty today too, just like on the day when I first came to this kingdom...) 

As countless of stars were twinkling repeatedly with a bright pale light, I let out a sigh of relief. 

Vega: Aside from what other people would do, you said that you wanted to come with me and I ended up taking you here. 

With our shoulders aligned together as we were looking up at the stars at the moment, Vega-san whispered to me. 

Vega: Even knowing that Altair is okay now, you feeling the same way as me has brought me joy again. That's what makes you so kind... I, towards you... 

When Vega-san gently wrapped his hands around my waist, he pulled me into his arms. Then, when I slowly became covered in Vega-san's shadow, he placed a kiss on my forehead. 

MC: Vega-san... 

As my heart was going fast, I looked at Vega-san and my eyes met with his beautiful ones at a breathing distance. 

Vega: I'm glad that you were with me, MC. Won't you stay with me from now on? 

I was reflected in his beautiful eyes that could see through everything. 

MC: ... 

That bright appeal made me realize the truth behind the feelings that were budding in my heart. 

MC: Yes... Please let me stay by your side, Vega-san. 

When I said that, Vega-san's cheeks turned red a little. 

Vega: As a prince, I must return soon, but... ...Just for a little while... I want to be with you. Can we continue this more?

Despite the sudden heat in my cheeks, I lightly nodded. 

As Vega-san looked at me lovingly, he placed a sweet gentle kiss on my lips next.
