Chapter 1 - The Kingdom of Thieves

Kingdom of Thieves, Rogue, April... In the clear blue sky, soft clouds were floating...

(He told me to wait around here, but...) 

There were various stores standing side by side and the peddlers' lively voices were going all over the place. I came to visit Rogue when Toni-san invited me. 

Toni: MC! You finally came!

MC: Toni-san!

Toni-san ran over to me with a broad smile from among the crowd of people. 

Toni: Let's cut it out with the formalities! You're my benefactor after all. How about addressing me more casually? Try calling me by my name. 

As Toni-san looked at me in the eye, he made a mischievous smile. 

MC: T-Toni. 

Toni: That's it! That'll do!

Toni petted my head and made a satisfied smile. 

(What an innocent person.) 

At that moment...

Townsperson: There he is! It's Prince Toni!

MC: ...!? 

Along with that voice, many men were running towards us fiercely. 

Toni: Crap! Over here!

MC: Eh!? 

When Toni grabbed my hand, he started running at full speed in the opposite direction. 

MC: W-What's happening!? 

Toni: You can tell by looking! I'm being chased!

MC: Chased...!

Toni: It's the Kingdom of Thieves, so it's obvious that I'm going to be chased!

Without giving me a moment to think, the only thing I could do was run at full speed... 

Chapter 2 - The Thief Him

While Toni was pulling my hand, we ran through the town at full speed... 

Toni: We should be safe here. 

Once we've reached the forest that was slightly further away from town, Toni finally stopped his feet. 

(Since we've ran at full speed... It hurts to breathe.) 

Toni: What, you're already down? You're so weak. 

Despite running so much, Toni looked fine as he crossed his arms in front of me.

Toni: You're surprisingly determined.

Toni: This is normal, so you should get into shape more.

MC: B-But... Why were they chasing a prince? 

Toni: Why, didn't you know that this is the Kingdom of Thieves? In my kingdom, we make a living by stealing what's necessary from other kingdoms. The royal family and of course, the townspeople as well. 

(Everyone's a thief!? I've never heard of a kingdom like that...) 

MC: Then, the people that were chasing us earlier were from other kingdoms? 

Toni: Hmm, that was... I spoke too much. 

MC: Eh? 

Toni made a mischievous smile again. 

Toni: We should hurry. 

As I didn't know the reason, Toni tossed something into my mouth as I was about to speak. 

(This is...) 

In my mouth, a subtle sweetness was spreading instantly. 

MC: Candy? 

Toni: Yeah. I've been practicing by stealing candy from those guys' shops when I was a kid. They seemed to have stopped chasing me. Since I'm a regular now. 

(Is that so...) 

Toni: I would fall into holes sometimes though! I didn't know what to do when I fell into one that had swords in it!

When Toni said that with an innocent smile, my mouth went agape. 

Toni: Well, since we've lost our pursuers, let's head to the castle!

MC: ...

(I should be fine as long as nothing happens during my stay in this kingdom...)

Chapter 3 - The Rules of a Thief

After that... With Toni leading the way, we've finally arrived at the vast hall in his castle. The venue had various dishes arranged and people were gathered in big groups. 

Toni: Geez, a thief throwing a party, it's so out of character... Since I've told everyone that you, who woke me up from the ring, would be coming over, they all got so enthusiastic. 

As Toni crossed his arms, he frowned.

MC: Thank you for going through all the trouble into throwing this party. 

Toni: I don't need your thanks.

MC: Sorry. 

Toni: There's no need for you to apologize!

Toni: I know, there's something that I want you to help me with. 

MC: Eh? 

When Toni pulled my hand somewhat forcefully, he started walking towards the hall podium. 

MC: T-Toni? 

Castle Thief 1: Oh! Prince Toni! We've been waiting!

Castle Guard 2: Show us how cool you are!

During the cheers, Toni, who was at the top of the podium, whispered in my ear. 

Toni: Once I give the signal, threw these at me. 

Toni handed me many daggers and lightly patted my shoulder. 

MC: Eh...!? Throw them...!? 

Then, Toni suddenly started to juggle two daggers. As the daggers were dancing in the air, cheers were made.

Toni: MC! Throw them!

MC: Eh...!

Toni: Hurry!

MC: B-But...

Toni: It'll be okay! Trust me!

After saying that, I threw the daggers at Toni with all my strength and... He caught them nimbly and skillfully added them to the daggers that he was tossing around right away. A particularly loud applause was made. 

(Wow... Amazing!) 

When Toni's show ended, he bowed to the audience and ran up to me with a satisfied smile. 

Toni: You did well!

Toni gently petted my head.

MC: Toni, you were amazing!

Toni: Of course I was!

- That was scary (☽)

MC: T-That was scary. 

Toni: But, wasn't it fun? 

MC: Yeah...!

Even after the show, the people in the venue haven't stopped laughing. 

(Everyone's a thief here, right...) 

Toni: We don't steal from the weak. 

MC: ...Eh? 

Toni said that as if he knew what I was thinking. 

Toni: The people are given tough jobs to steal some treasure to give the kingdom's castle some profits. So, they steal what's only needed. Then, we assign those people a job. 

MC: So, there was a rule like that... 

As he showed a toothy grin, Toni smiled proudly. 

Soon after that, I'll be getting a personal experience in being a thief...
