Ronald - Black Butler Collab - Sun End

Chapter 5 - A Disturbing Presence

A few days later... In the deserted town at night, our footsteps were heard...

Ronald: Ah, it's already this late... Also, haven't they been putting me to work too much!?

During his break from his part time work... He sighed tiredly.

MC: The bar has been thriving lately.

(Could it have started... ever since Ronald-san started working?)

Since Ronald-san talks so lively and his customer service was good, especially with the women, the bar's reputation increased that it's been crowded every day.

Ronald: Haa~ ...Even though I said that it's in my principal to never do overtime work.

As he said that, he combed up his disheveled hair.

MC: You must be tired.

Ronald: Of course, I am. I've been moving around so mu-

Just as the streetlights were flickering, they went out.

Ronald: Hm?

MC: ...

(That was kind of strange...)

The moment I felt an ominous presence behind me, I turned around and...

MC: ...!

Something jumped out from within the darkness.

Ronald: This guy...!

It was... A dream eater that appeared in this world with Ronald-san and the others.

(There are still some left over...!?)

Giving us no time to be surprised, the dream eater charged at me.

Ronald: MC!

The sudden situation that we were in made me close my eyes without thinking...

Last Chapter - It's Really Grim Reaper DIE

When a remaining dream eater appeared from the darkness, it charged at me.

Ronald: MC!

Ronald-san jumped in front of me and drove the dream eater away with his weapon, a grim reaper's death scythe. The dream eater faltered for a moment, but it came at us again.

Ronald: This goes beyond overtime work. What a... disaster!

Ronald-san swung the grim reaper's death scythe around and fought back.

MC: Ronald-san! To the right...!

I did my best to help him out by paying attention to his surroundings.

Ronald: Geez, there's seriously no ending to this!

He swung the large grim reaper's death scythe and struck the dream eater. Once we've cooperated into getting rid of the dream eater, silence returned to the area.

Ronald: You okay?

MC: Somewhat.

Wiping the sweat off my forehead, I took a deep breath.

Ronald: Haa...

After sighing deeply, Ronald-san...

Ronald: Regardless of everything, this is the most suitable job for me.

With a bit of a refreshed expression, he held up the grim reaper's death scythe and looked at it.

MC: ...I think so too. Even though you looked nice with the shaker.

Ronald-san smiled.

Ronald: Same goes for you too. I thought that you were just modest, but you fought courageously, not bad~

MC: Thank you.

His smile made me smile as well.

Ronald: Oh, that's a cute smile.

MC: !

(...How embarrassing.)

Ronald: ...

As Ronald-san was looking at me, he suddenly grinned.

MC: Ronald-san?

He took out a notebook from his pocket and quickly went through the pages.

(Come to think of it, that notebook... It has the names of people that are going to die...)

I've heard that grim reapers like Ronald-san harvest souls by going through a list. Just as Ronald-san stopped his hand, he looked at the notebook.

Ronald: Actually, your name... is right here.

MC: Eh...? Which means...

Ronald: ...It is as it seems.

As Ronald-san looked just like a grim reaper with the full moon behind him... He made a cold look.

(I... I'm?)

He closed the notebook and walked towards me calmly.

Ronald: It's too bad. Despite that I wanted to be with you more.

Just as he stopped right in front of me, he held my chin and lifted it up.

Ronald: I've got to get to work.

(Ronald-san's work is...)

MC: U-Um...!?

As he was looking down at me, there was a frighteningly captivating look in his eyes. While I was trembling, Ronald-san looked at me for a while...

Ronald: ...Pfft.

MC: !

Ronald: Haha! I was kidding! There's no way that your name, from this world, would be in there! Also, I'm off duty right now!

MC: You were... kidding...?

As I was taken aback, he narrowed his eyes amusedly and continued speaking.

Ronald: Sorry, sorry. You were just so honest that I wanted to tease you a little.

After letting go of my chin, Ronald-san shrugged his shoulders oddly.

(Despite that... I was serious.)

MC: Ronald-san...!

Just as I pouted, Ronald-san presented a small box in front of me. When he opened the lid...

MC: This is...

Inside it was the brooch that I was looking at in the jewelry shop. The green jewel shined brightly in the moonlight.

Ronald: These are my feelings of gratitude towards you, who did all sorts of things for me, also... Compensation for doing overtime work just now, I guess?

MC: I-I can't accept this!

Ronald: Why not? I want to give it to you, so it's fine, right?

MC: ...Thank you...

(It's really pretty...)

Ronald: Yep, being honest is the best thing.

(Is it really okay for me to accept something so expensive?)

MC: But, won't this make me incomparable to you?

Ronald: In that case, let's go on a date right now! My superiors aren't here, so let's enjoy DIE! Okay!

MC: Um, what about your part time work at the bar...

Ronald-san grinned.

Ronald: I've already turned in my resignation!

MC: Eh! Resignation...

Ronald: Come on. The night's just starting, right?

He pulled my hand and lightly ran towards the town.

(He really is a vague person...)

Despite that thought, I was unable to hold back my excitement. As the town lights were shining brightly, they looked like scattered jewels...
