Creto - Prince of Choco Luna - Moon End

Chapter 5 - Now, the Chocolate Competition

As Creto-kun became depressed from looking at the poster, I decided to speak to him.

MC: Creto-kun, do you want to enter this competition?

Creto: Eh?! Me!? That's impossible!!

MC: But, don't you make chocolate?

Creto: It's a competition with all the best in the kingdom... I can't compete to their level... Also...

MC: ...?

Creto: No, it's nothing.

After Creto-kun said that, he continued to look at the poster.

(It seems like... he really wants to do it.)

At that moment, something on the poster caught my eye.

MC: The requirements for participating... It says that you need a team of two. Hey, Creto-kun. Want to enter it together?

I ended up asking that.

Creto: Huh? Me... and you, together!?

Creto-kun looked at me as he got closer.

MC: If we're making sweets, I can help. Also, I want to see what you're like when you're making chocolate.

Creto: ...

Creto-kun frowned. But, he happily smiled more and looked at me.

Creto: I guess it can't be helped since you want to see.

Thus, we decided to enter the competition...

Last Chapter - Getting Serious from Here On

The next day, we were thinking up ideas for the competition in Creto-kun's room. In his room, there were piles of books and documents all over the place.

(Amazing... They're all about chocolate. Creto-kun, he may not look like it, but he studies hard...)

While admiring him, he held up one of the books from among the documents.

Creto: Since we're participating in the competition, I think we should go with this.

MC: ...Carré*? Is that the name of the chocolate?

T/N: A kind of chocolate square that has layers in it

I read out loud the name on the page that Creto-kun showed me.

Creto: Yeah, it looks simple and is difficult to make, but it'll be worth doing. Although, I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it well...

MC: But, if it's something that you want to do, then it'll be the best choice.

When I nodded with a smile, Creto-kun closed the book with a frustrated look.

Creto: But, if I won't be able to do my best... That'll be uncool.

MC: That's not true, it's not embarrassing to work hard towards your goal.

Creto: Really...?

MC: Really.

Creto-kun stared at me...

Creto: I feel embarrassed to hear that from people I know.

MC: Eh...?

Creto: My dad and grandfather too... Everyone in the Latte household is famed for being top class chocolatiers. Of course, they all won in this competition too.

MC: Is that so...

Creto: I love chocolate, but... I've been more interested in how to be cool that I haven't gotten serious about it until now. I'm not ready as prince and as a chocolatier, but...

Creto-kun looked straight at me.

Creto: I want to compete seriously in this competition for your sake!

There was an unusual serious look in his eyes...

......

A week later, it was the day of the competition. Creto-kun was shaking as he was using his hands with all his strength and then, he strived in making the chocolate enthusiastically.

(Even though the other participants are from Choco Luna's famous shops that I've seen in the main street... You can do it, Creto-kun...!)

While I was helping Creto-kun, I continued to watch him making chocolate with wishful feelings.

.......

Then, a few hours later... We were tottering in the street area as it was becoming dark.

Creto: We did everything that we could...

MC: Yes... But, the judges gave us a special prize for being first time participants, that is amazing enough.

( said that to encourage Creto-kun as he was feeling down. Even so, I was frustrated on the inside.

Creto: The path to becoming a top-class chocolatier isn't that easy... Well, I knew that. The people that were participating today put in more effort than me.

Creto-kun moved his gaze. Suddenly, we were at the same main street that we met in from the start.

MC: ...

At that moment, I shivered from the cold wind blowing.

Creto: Are you cold?

MC: Eh...?

As Creto-kun said that, something soft and warm was wrapped around my neck.

MC: Ah...

Creto: Are you okay? You'll catch a cold.

The red checkered scarf that he usually wears was around my neck. As I looked at his white breath, I felt my cheeks becoming warm.

MC: Creto-kun, I'm okay! You're the one who's going to catch a cold...

Creto: I'm fine...

There was a sweet scent lingering from his big warm scarf.

(This scent is Creto-kun's...)

Creto: Haha, MC, you're all red... But, thanks for putting me in the competition. I'm really frustrated that I didn't win, but... I had fun. I never knew that being serious felt this refreshing...

MC: The chocolate that you made was good. Also... You were cool as you were working hard.

Creto: ...!?

When I told him that honestly, his face suddenly turned red. Seeing him like that made me even warmer...

Creto: ...Were you serious just now?

MC: ...Yes.

We looked at each other as our faces were red and then, we smiled.

Creto: I'll do my best from here on.

When Creto-kun said that, he showed a wonderful smile that I've never seen before...
