Chapter 1 - Lost His Place
After peace has returned to the Kingdom of Poison... When we've all gathered around for a snack, we had a peaceful time together for the first time in a while. On the other hand...
Cyril: ...
While we were eating sandwiches, Cyril was watching us from afar.
MC: Cyril, how about you come over here too?
Cyril: I refuse to become friends with you.
We spoke to him many times, but he wouldn't look over here. Seeing him all alone in the corner of the room was causing a disturbance in my heart no matter what.
(Even though we'll be heading off to Traumerei after this, Cyril is...)
Since his actions went against Fllayg-san's wishes, he didn't go back to his brothers.
(We have Rufus here, but... I wonder if he doesn't want to say that he wants to come with us himself. Still...)
Cyril: ...
As he was acting like he's okay, there was a dark look on the side of his childlike face.
(I can't just leave him like this.)
I placed a sandwich on a plate and walked over to Cyril.
MC: Would you like some?
Cyril: I don't need it. I don't want to accept food from you.
When Cyril said that coldly, he pushed my hand back, so I placed the plate on the table. Even so, as I stayed there, he looked up at me with a discomforting look.
Cyril: You still need something? How about you go back to where your friends are?
MC: If you'd like, how about you come with us?
Cyril: Eh...?
When his amber-colored eyes widened, it looked like they were emitting a faint light as the sunlight was shining on them. Although...
Cyril: I see, so that's it... Princess, you really are too kind.
He instantly made a sarcastic look and laughed mockingly.
Cyril: I don't need your pity.
When he gave me a sharp glare, he got up and kicked a chair strongly, making it go upside down. Showing his irritation, he roughly opened the door and left...
Chapter 2 - Walking Together
Underneath the clear sky, short blonde hair swayed with the sunlight shining on it. From afar, I knew right away that it was Cyril as he was being irritated.
MC: Cyril, wait!
As I went after him, I called out to his small back.
Cyril: You're so annoying...! Why are you following me around!?
When Cyril turned towards me as he said that at the same time, his voice was sharp like a knife. With an annoyed look in his eyes, he pushed me away mercilessly.
(If I tell Cyril that I'm worried about him, he might say that I'm just pitying him again... But...)
I thought about Cyril's sad expression from the times I caught glimpses of him. That made my heart hurt more than anything else even now.
MC: I want to get to know you more, so I want you to come with us, Cyril.
Cyril: Hmm... Checking on the enemy's true situation. You sure are wicked, Princess.
MC: No. I just want to get to know you, yourself, Cyril.
(What's hidden in your heart...)
Cyril: Huh? You want to know me, I don't get it.
As Cyril's eyes wavered uneasily, I...

- You don't need to force yourself to be strong (☽)
MC: You don't need to force yourself to be strong, but it'd make me happy if you could respond.
Cyril: I see. No matter what you think, I don't want any part of it.
- You can take your time thinking about it (☼)
MC: I must've surprised you when I invited you so suddenly. You can take your time thinking about it.
Cyril: So, you're finally letting me go. Hanging out with you is so annoying.

Cyril: Then, I can go now, right? Don't follow me this time.
As he was about to part from me, I strained my voice to tell him one more thing from behind.
MC: Tonight, I'll be waiting at the Moon Road!
Without turning around, Cyril went into a back alley...
......
By the time the moonlight was shining on the world...
(Cyril isn't coming... Even though it's about time to depart.)
Everyone else has already stepped on the Moon Road, but I was by myself looking around nervously. At that moment...
MC: !
In the corner of my vision, I saw something shine brightly.
Cyril: ...
The earrings on Cyril's ears swayed as they shined with the moonlight reflecting on them.
MC: Cyril... I've been waiting.
Just as I was about to run towards the small light...
Cyril turned away from me very rudely.
Cyril: What's with that face? Smiling so thoughtlessly towards the enemy.
MC: You coming here means that you'll be joining us, right?
Cyril: ...Don't get the wrong idea though. It's not like I'm going just because you invited me. I just pretty much wanted to see Traumerei.
After telling me that, there was a sharp stern look in Cyril's eyes the next moment.
Cyril: We're all scattered around! So, I'm just going to torment the kingdom!
His words that were filled with annoyance pierced through my heart...
(No matter what the reason is... I'm just glad that he came here.)
While keeping at a safe distance, I started walking with Cyril. I hoped that the gap between us would shrink just a little...
Chapter 3 - Rage Triggered
As a refreshing breeze blew, we took a break from traveling. Along the way to Traumerei, we stopped in a town.
MC: Cyril, we'll be staying here for tonight, so...
(Huh, Cyril is...)
When I looked around, he was nowhere to be seen. As my nervousness grew stronger, I started going back on the path that we took in a panic.
......
Within a dark back alley, some strikingly blonde hair caught my eye.
Cyril: ...
Cyril was crouched down in the corner of the alley.
MC: Cyril, are you feeling unwell!? Are you okay!?
Cyril: ! Why are you here... Didn't I tell you that I would be going out earlier?
MC: I was searching for you to bring you back.
Cyril: For me, you say...
As he got up with an odd look, I...

- I was surprised (☽)
MC: I was surprised when you suddenly disappeared. It made me think that you disliked coming with us...
Cyril: You know, I never liked you from the start. To think that you guys would act that way.
- I was worried (☼)
MC: I got worried from thinking that you could've gotten lost...
Cyril: Don't treat me like a lost child. I'm not a kid after all.

Cyril's nicely shaped brow furrowed and at that moment...
Kitten: ...
I heard a feeble cry near Cyril's feet. A kitten that was white as snow was looking at us with it's cute round black eyes.
MC: Cyril, this kitten...
Cyril: It looks like it was either abandoned or lost. It was curled up here all alone.
As the kitten continued to cry sweetly, Cyril looked down at it heartrendingly.
Cyril: ...It looks like it's been alone for a long time.
When he murmured that, what I saw on the side of his face was the same sad expression that I would see sometimes.
(Cyril...)
As it felt like he was comparing the kitten to himself... I couldn't do anything as I became filled with pain.
MC: Hey, shall we go look for this kitten's owner together?
Cyril: Eh?
MC: I don't know if it'll be it's former owner or a new owner, but... Let's find a home for this kitten. Since we've planned on staying in this town tonight, we have some time...
Cyril: ...
When Cyril suddenly picked up the kitten, he started walking without saying anything.
MC: Where are you going!?
Cyril: Anywhere is fine, right?
As he was stepping out of the back alley, I quickly went after him.

- Can I come too? (☼)
MC: Hey, Cyril... Can I come too?
Cyril: Even if I tell you no, you'll still come along. You don't need to ask every single time.
- Two people are better than one (☽)
MC: I think it'll be easier to search together than by yourself.
Cyril: You're too good, Princess. Trying to deceive me with that sort of thing.

Cyril: It's such a pain, so do what you want.
Even though he said that coldly, it didn't sound like he was refusing me sharply.
(He's searching for an owner because he's worried about it... It'd be nice if that's what he was thinking.)
When I started walking beside Cyril for the first time, I broke into a smile.
MC: The kitten looks hungry, so let's buy some food for it first.
Cyril: I don't need you to tell me that.
His slightly young hand gently petted the kitten's soft back. As the kitten purred in comfort, Cyril's expression softened up.
MC: This kitten sure is cute.
Cyril: Really?
MC: Do you like cats, Cyril?
Cyril: Not really. Also, you sure are asking a lot of questions.
Despite that he was annoyed, he was responding back. Feeling like I've gotten closer to his heart right now, I asked another question.
MC: Then, what do you like, Cyril?
Cyril: Even if you ask that so suddenly, nothing comes to mind.
MC: Anything is fine. For example, Adam seems to like flowers...
Cyril: ...!
When Cyril's expression suddenly froze, his feet stopped. Within his cold eyes, flames of anger were rising.
Cyril: Why... Why are you suddenly asking about Adam-nii!?
MC: Cyril...?
When Cyril instantly went into a furious rage, I trembled greatly...
Chapter 4 - Craved Feelings
-Flashback-
Cyril: Why are you suddenly asking about Adam-nii!?
-Flashback-
When Cyril got angry and irritated, his voice hit my eardrums. Taking in his fierce emotions, I continued speaking.
MC: That's what I heard from him talk about in Trugville... I don't know much about your other brothers, so...
Cyril: I don't believe you...
As his long eyelashes made shadows, they hid his despair filled eyes.
Cyril: You say that you want to get to know me, but you're really lying. No one is interested in me!
MC: That's not true. Why...
Cyril: Everyone only looks at Adam-nii, they never think about me! Adam, Adam, Adam...! It's always about him!
After Cyril shouted that hatefully, the kitten cried uneasily.
Cyril: Ah... You, don't cry like that.
Once Cyril has calmed down, he petted the kitten's head to reassure it.
MC: By everyone, do you mean your brothers?
Cyril: Who else would I be talking about? All I could remember are my brothers... only caring about Adam-nii.
(Even when Cyril was born, Adam's condition was already...)
Because of the painful fate that Adam is burdened with, everyone must've been watching over him continuously. Cyril, who's the youngest, surely must've held a strong loneliness this whole time...
(That explains his behavior at that time.)
-Flashback-
Cyril: Aside from me, Adam-nii is better.
-Flashback-
(Cyril... He wanted attention. Since everyone would worry about Adam.)
The strong feeling that he had towards Adam, it was envy... Once I knew about the loneliness that he was burdened with, I became speechless...
......
After buying some food at a shop, Cyril and I went to a park that had a nice view.
Kitten: Meow.
The heavy depressing atmosphere around us subsided thanks to a cute fellow.
Cyril: Here, eat up.
The moment Cyril opened some canned cat food, the kitten started eating it energetically.
Cyril: You're being too greedy. No one's going to take it away from you, so don't rush.
(Ah, he smiled...)
His smile towards the kitten showed the innocence of his age. His expression that I've never seen before caught my attention.
Cyril: ...What are you looking at?
When Cyril noticed my gaze, he looked at me suspiciously.

- You're so kind (☼)
MC: Cyril, you're so kind.
Cyril: Huh!? Aren't your eyes just really bad...
- You look like you're enjoying yourself (☽)
MC: Cyril, you look like you're enjoying yourself.
Cyril: That's why you were staring at people? Gross.

The moment Cyril's pale cheeks turned red a little...
Cyril: Wah!
The kitten jumped and started licking his cheek.
Cyril: S-Stop it... Haha...
(It'd be nice if I could see him like this more.)
While watching him smile as he played with the kitten, I couldn't help, but think that...
Chapter 5 - All Alone
Along with night approaching, warm lights started showing from the windows of houses. Cyril and I searched around for an owner for the kitten, but we have yet to find one.
MC: There aren't a lot of people in town, so we should head to the inn right now for today.
Cyril: Then, I'll take this guy to my room.
MC: Wait...!
Just as he was about to go in while holding the kitten, I pulled Cyril's arm.
MC: We should try asking the innkeeper if it's okay to bring him inside.
Cyril: There's no need for that. As long as we're quiet.
MC: Inns have rules too...

- Anyway, let's go together (☽)
MC: Anyway, let's go and try talking to him together.
Cyril: Eh, are you seriously saying that? That's so lame though...
- You can't decide that on your own (☼)
MC: You can't decide that on your own.
Cyril: You're too serious. There's nothing wrong with breaking the rules.
///Choices///
MC: For his sake, let's do it properly. Okay?
Once I calmed down Cyril as he was dissatisfied, we went over to the innkeeper.
Although...
Innkeeper: My apologies, but animals aren't allowed.
Cyril: ...Stingy.
Cyril murmured that in a soft inaudible tone.
Innkeeper: Eh?
Cyril: I said...
Before he got all riled up, I quickly got in between them.
MC: Um, is there another place that we can put him in?
Innkeeper: Let's see... In that case, I can lend you the old shed that we don't use.
......
When we opened a window in the shed that was within the grounds of the inn, the slightly dusty air went out. Then, the two of us made a bed for the kitten with a blanket that was in a small box in a corner.
Cyril: This'll be your home for today. It's not that comfy, so bear with it.
When Cyril placed the kitten on top of the blanket, it rubbed it's face against his hand.
Cyril: It can withstand rain and wind and there aren't any dangerous guys here. It's better than being outside.
MC: That's right. You'll be safe as long as you're in here.
Cyril: But, it won't change that fact... that you'll be all alone.
As Cyril petted the kitten, he said that as if he was talking to himself. When it sounded like he was in pain, I felt the loneliness that was hidden in his heart closely.
Cyril: Just like me... He doesn't have anyone either.
It felt like Cyril was comparing himself to the kitten...
MC: But, at least he's not alone now.
I placed my own hand over his hand without thinking.
MC: Until now, he never had anyone by his side... I'm sure that we'll find someone to look after him from now on. Just like how we are looking after him.
Cyril: ...I...
MC: Eh?
Cyril: If we can't find a home for him by the time we depart... I'll... No, never mind.
Shaking off his thoughts, Cyril slowly pushed my hand away. His body warmth that was lightly lingering on my hand felt really lonesome...
