Chapter 5 - Overcoming the Flooding Snow

The wall of snow that has engulfed the trees was about to approach me...

As my voice was shaking, I was unable to say his name well. Pain was coming into my arm after it got grazed earlier.

He raised his other hand towards the avalanche.

The snow that was coming down disappeared into the field of snow.

As Kalt-san seemed bewildered, he gently held me by the waist as if he was handling something fragile.

Then, he hugged me.

After returning to the castle with Kalt-san... As my injury was being treated, Kalt-san was watching. Although, I couldn't understand what he was feeling from his gaze...

Once my arm had healed up, I went to town with a guard accompanying me. 

Child: Miss, let's make a bigger one!

MC: A bigger one? 

Child: Yeah! A really big one!

I began making a snowman with a child. With the guard helping too, we ended up making a huge head and body out of snow. 

MC: All done!

The children all began to dance happily around the snowman. 

(How cute...) 

Child: You too, Miss!

MC: Eh...? 

When they pulled my arm, I ended up joining their dance circle and at that moment... 

MC: ...!

I slipped on some ice. 

MC: Ow...

Guard: Are you okay!? 

The guard helped me up. He carefully cleared off the snow from the hem of my coat. 

MC: Thank you very much. 

Guard: It was no problem. 

When the guard smiled at that moment... I felt someone strongly pulling my arm. 

MC: Eh...? 

I turned around and saw Kalt-san looked at me with a scary face. 

MC: Kalt-san...? 

Guard: Prince Kalt!

(Why is he here...?) 

MC: Are you done with work? 

Kalt: No... 

MC: Eh...?

Kalt: No... 

Kalt-san strongly pulled my hand and started walking. 

MC: Kalt-san...? 

As Kalt-san was pulling me, I looked at him from behind.

Once we arrived at Kalt-san's room, he suddenly hugged me. 

MC: W-What's wrong? 

My heart began to pound rapidly due to the sudden embrace. He touched my cheek with his cold fingers.

When he looked at me with his icelike eyes, I felt myself forgetting to breathe... As it felt like he had casted a spell, I became unable to look away from him. Then...

He placed a soft kiss against my lips.

He caressed my cheek with his beautiful long fingers. When he slowly backed away, he looked at me with his eyes that were clear like crystals. 

Kalt: Did you know...? If you are given a kiss with ice magic... Your heart will freeze... 

MC: Mm...!

When he kissed me again, he bit my lip sweetly. 

Kalt: It'll be nice... If you freeze in this moment... I don't want... your heart... looking at anyone.

During the deep and heavy kiss, I was becoming lightheaded. 

MC: ...Kalt-san...

My hot breath was blending in with his cold breath. 

Kalt: No... No one else, but me... can touch you... If snow does fall upon you... I'll get rid of it... Only I... can freeze... your warmth...

As I was being held in his arms, I felt a freezing pain in my body as a cold wave was being emitting. 

MC: ...It's cold. 

Kalt: I won't... hand you over to anyone...

Even though my body was freezing, there was warmth rising in my heart. 

(Why does my heart feel so warm like this...?) 

MC: Kalt-san... I... 

When I felt his cold fingers on my cheek again, my words froze from coming out. Then... 

Kalt: Stay by my side... for all of eternity...

MC: ...

I closed my eyes as he gave me an ice kiss. 

(My head... is going numb...) 

As I was being held in his cold arms, I searched for the warmth in his heart...
