Chapter 1 - Snow Castle

Kingdom of Spirits, Secundati, Niebi, February... One day as powdery snow was fluttering about from the sky... When Kalt-san invited me, I came to visit Niebi, where the Ice Household resides. 

(Pretty...) 

When I looked at the hills, fields and town, they were all white as they were covered in snow. The frost-covered trees along the road shined faintly from the sunlight that was shining through the clouds. 

MC: How pretty.

Kalt: It's cold... So, there are people that could get... hurt... 

MC: Is... that so...? 

(People could get hurt...? Even though it's so pretty, how could they get hurt...) 

While I was thinking and walking... I noticed something move from the corner of my eye.

When I took a closer look at the courtyard, something was running in the snow. For a moment, I saw that it had long ears.

MC: Ah...!

As I was focused on looking into the distance, Kalt-san's fingers touched my hand. I pulled my hand away due to how cold it was. 

Kalt: It's cold... Right... 

As Kalt-san looked at me, his eyes darkened a little sadly. 

MC: I'm sorry... I was just surprised. Even though it was cold, it felt nice. 

Kalt: I see... 

Kalt-san looked down at the palm of his hand. At that moment, I noticed that he was smiling a little... 

Chapter 2 - Among the Fluttering Snow

From the clouds, the transparent morning sunlight was shining down... As I was being escorted by Kalt-san, he took me to the town near the castle.

Kalt: Are you cold...? 

MC: I'm okay. 

Kalt: Don't push yourself. 

I smiled from his kindness as he was being concerned about me. 

MC: I'm okay. I came here with extra layers, so I'm feeling warm right now. 

Kalt: I see... If something happens, tell me...

MC: Thank you. 

Kalt-san and I walked over to check out a shop together. 

Kalt: ...

Kalt-san, who was untalkative, didn't say anything as we went to the places that I wanted to see. Although...

When a snow crystal fell onto the palm of my hand, it slowly melted and disappeared.

Kalt-san looked up at the sky. 

MC: Kalt-san?

I looked away from the crystals and took a glance at him. His clear eyes were quietly staring at the crystals.

My heart skipped a beat. At that moment, a church bell rang throughout town. 

Kalt: Noon... 

He suddenly looked up. 

MC: Ah...

When our eyes met, my cheeks instantly became warm. 

Kalt: Let's return... to the castle. 

Kalt-san's hand lightly spun around towards the sky. The snow that was in his hand quietly disappeared among the snow that was falling from the sky...

Chapter 3 - Snow Rabbit

After returning to the castle and ate lunch, I started to look around inside the castle by myself. 

(It really is such a pretty castle.) 

The icicles that were lined up by the window were shining from the afternoon sunlight. That light sent a seven-colored rainbow into the room.

I remembered the snow rabbit that I saw moving on top of the snow yesterday.

While holding back my rushed feelings, I headed to the courtyard. 

When I arrived at the courtyard, the cold atmosphere turned my breath white.

The white snow shined brightly from the sunlight. Then, I saw something rise up in the snow.

The rabbit looked at me with it's red eyes as it's long ears perked up. 

MC: It really was a rabbit... 

The rabbit hopped on top of the snow. 

MC: How cute. 

As it didn't look like it was going to run, I slowly reached out towards it. Although, the rabbit disappeared as if it had melted. 

MC: Eh, it disappeared...? 

When I looked around in surprise, a cold breeze touched my skin. 

MC: ...? 

Within the wind, a particle of light shined brightly. 

(A light in the wind...?)

When that light shined on the snow, many rabbits appeared from beneath the snow. 

MC: There were this many hiding?

When the rabbits looked around the area, they hopped towards where the light in the wind was coming from. 

(Where are they going?) 

As my heart was beating loudly, I followed the rabbits. 

Then, over there was... 

(Kalt-san...?) 

The rabbits surrounded Kalt-san and looked at him. He lightly raised his hand and the light in the wind flew down over the snow. 

(The rabbits are...!)

Then, more rabbits appeared from beneath the snow again. 

(No... The snow is making the rabbits different. Is this Kalt-san's magic? Come to think of it...)

Butler: Kalt-sama may be a usually quiet person, but he holds a strong power.

(The time when I arrived at this kingdom, the butler told me that...) 

As Kalt-san lightly waved his hand, the rabbits jumped. He looked down at the rabbits gently as they did that. 

MC: Pretty... 

As the sunlight shined on Kalt-san, I said that. 

Kalt: Who's there? 

The moment Kalt-san turned over here... The light in the wind emitted an arrow in his hand. That arrow hit the trunk of the tree that I was hiding at. 

MC: ...!

When I nervously looked at the tree trunk, the bark that was gouged froze.

MC: Ah... I'm sorry... The rabbits were so cute, that I just...

Chapter 4 - Dancing in the Snowy Field

The next day... Kalt-san took me to a snowy field that was a little further away from the castle.

As I looked at the vast carpet of snow, I became excited.

Kalt-san pointed towards the snowy field. When I looked closely at what he was pointing at, I saw long ears from within the snow.

The snow rabbit got up from the white snow and hopped towards us.

Kalt-san crouched down and reached out towards the snow rabbit that came over here.

Like him, I reached out to the rabbit. The sensation of it's fur felt lightly fluffy against my hand.

Kalt: They're real... in this place. Snow rabbits... are only in this kingdom... Not a lot of people know that... because they're highly valuable...

MC: If they're that important, why are you telling me this? 

Kalt: Because you seem... to like them. 

(Even with little words, I could feel Kalt-san's kindness.)

Without noticing us, the poacher aimed his gun at the rabbits. 

Kalt: I won't let him. 

Kalt-san softly chanted some kind of spell and then... A wall of snow suddenly came forth and blocked the bullets. 

Poacher: What the...!? 

Since we got in the poacher's way, he immediately aimed the gun over here. 

MC: ...!

When he fired a bullet without hesitation, Kalt-san used his magic to shoot it down. 

Kalt: ...!

Sweat was forming on Kalt-san's forehead.

Kalt-san widened his eyes when he saw my injury.

Just as I felt a chill... Kalt-san became surrounded by a snowy wind. 

MC: Kalt... -san. 

As his hair fluttered around from the wind, it shined like ice. Then, he aggressively held his arm out towards the poacher. 

Poacher: Uwah!

As if he was giving out an order with his arm, the blizzard warped into some kind of huge snake and attacked the poacher. 

Poacher: Uwaaaah!

The huge snow snake instantly swallowed up the poacher. Although, aside from that, the snow wasn't settling down. 

MC: Kalt-san...!

Overtaken by his power, Kalt-san's surroundings became enveloped by the blizzard. 

Kalt: Uwaah...!

(Is his power... going out of control?) 

When it expanded like a tornado at that moment... 

MC: An earthquake...!

The snowy field beneath my feet greatly shook. Then... 

MC: ...!

By the time I realized it, I became engulfed by the huge wall of snow...
