Kihel - Prince of Atlas - Moon End

Chapter 6 - The Evening Sun Shining on Feelings

Feeling like I'm being wrapped up, Kihel gently hugged me.

(He's really warm.)

As I tried to understand the tension in my mind, my vision became blurred with tears. The next moment, Kihel brought me back to reality when he whispered those words to me.

-Flashback-

Kihel: MC-chan, don't make that face. We're on a date after all... Okay?

-Flashback-

I did my best to smile as a response to Kihel's feelings that were etched in my heart.

MC: It's like what you said, Kihel. As long as someone's with you, that's enough to give you support.

(Aside from today, I don't know how many times I've been saved by Kihel.)

Ever since the dream eaters have appeared in the Dream World again, my mind has never been cleared up... Even so, having Kihel along with us has strangely lifted a weight off my shoulders a little.

MC: Thank you, Kihel.

Kihel: You're welcome!

When I became charmed by his refreshing voice, I smiled more. Although... As Kihel was looking up at the sunset, his expression turned gloomy.

MC: What's wrong?

Kihel: Ah, nothing. I was just thinking that we should be heading back~, but... Today, I couldn't get you to smile much.

As the bright sun was going down, Kihel placed both of his hands on my cheeks. His warmth and heartrending expression gave me a tightening feeling in my chest...

Chapter 7 - Wanting to Make You Smile

When the sun and the moon switched places, it became night in the world. With the lights shining softly, there was a romantic atmosphere going around town.

Kihel: MC-chan, are you really okay with not going back yet?

MC: Yes, since it looks like that's what you want to do.

(He's been trying to cheer me up after all.)

Kihel: But, you shouldn't push yourself.

MC: It's okay. Also, I did say that I would do anything.

When I showed a bit of a mischievous smile, Kihel responded with a broad smile.

Kihel: Then, it looks like I still have MC-chan all to myself. Alright! Let's spend the rest of the time having fun!

Kihel's cheerful voice echoed throughout the deadly silent streets. Due to the disturbance from the dream eaters, all of the shops everywhere have closed early.

Kihel: Ahaha. It's literally just us. Probably.

MC: Yeah... But, what should we do?

When I tilted my head to the side while thinking, Kihel's lips turned into a wide smile.

Kihel: Leave it to me! I'll take you someplace nice.

MC: Someplace nice?

Kihel: That's still a secret. But, it's a place that you'll like, MC-chan! Probably!

("Probably", he says... Despite that he's showing a lot of confidence.)

Aside from understanding Kihel's catchphrase, I let out a chuckle. The moment I looked up, we gazed at each other deeply.

Kihel: ...

His warm gaze that was looking at me deeply made my heart throb affectionately...

......

The warm nightly breeze gently touched my cheek. The place that Kihel took me to was a spring at the bottom of a mountain.

Kihel: This place is a hot spring too. Isn't it amazing?

MC: It really is... It's pretty.

As the moonlight shined on the clear water surface, it made the blue depths sparkle.

(It looks like Kihel's eye color...)

After looking at it for a while, he looked at my face restlessly.

Kihel: So? Do you like it?

This time, my vision was beautifully filled with Kihel's dark blue eyes. The close distance between us made my heart jump, but I felt calm somehow...

MC: Yes, of course.

Kihel: Alright! It's all thanks to that old man!

MC: Eh?

Kihel: Fufu, the truth is...

Kihel made a triumphant smile with his hands on his waist and his chest puffed out with pride.

Kihel: During the day, when I asked, "is there a place that'll make my girlfriend happy?", I was told to go someplace other than a hot spring.

MC: ! By girlfriend...

Kihel: I thought that we wouldn't have a chance like this. ...Probably?

I became charmed by his mature smile that was different from his usual innocent smile.

(Kihel...)

At that moment, as I was unable to look away, Kihel started to make a serious expression...

Kihel: ...You must be feeling obligated to me. If I did something like this, I wondered what kind of smile you'll make. I wanted to see it... Is what I was thinking.

hen his voice gradually dwindled, I couldn't hear him when it disappeared into the nightly breeze at the end. Kihel lightly hung his head down as if he was trying to hide his cheeks that have turned red a little...

Last Chapter - The Treasure You Gave Me

While the moon was up in the night sky, it was emitting a mysterious pale light...

-Flashback-

Kihel: ...You must be feeling obligated to me. If I did something like this, I wondered what kind of smile you'll make. I wanted to see it... Is what I was thinking.

-Flashback-

He told me how he was truly feeling with an embarrassed look.

(Kihel...)

Within my heart, there was a ticklish feeling spreading. Although, the next moment, I could feel tears coming out once more...

MC: Kihel... You're really amazing. You're too kind...

(Even though Kihel put himself in such a difficult situation... Everything that he did... He was thinking about me.)

I couldn't bring out the words as his endless warmth was filling up my heart.

Kihel: MC-chan...?

When Kihel gently touched my shoulder, he gave me a worried look. His clear eyes that had no resentment in them trembled as there was only a gentle look in them.

(To just forget about everything with just a smile, I can't do that.)

Although, Kihel's positive words made me really happy...

MC: ...Thank you, Kihel!

Wanting to respond to his feelings, I gave him a wholehearted smile.

Kihel: ! MC-chan...

Kihel's dark blue eyes widened in surprise.

(Was that too sudden...?)

I felt uneasy about surprising him and the next moment... When Kihel smiled this time, it was like a flower suddenly blooming underneath the moonlight.

Kihel: Your smile is really cute!

MC: ! Something like that...

When I felt embarrassed from his straightforward words, I felt my cheeks getting warm.

Kihel: It's obviously something like that.

Kihel chuckled with a smile and looked up at the night sky. As the moon that has risen up in the sky was beginning to wane, it was almost time for it to switch places with the sun.

Kihel: ...It's about time for the prince and princess to go back.

MC: ...Yeah.

While Kihel and I were spending time together, the melancholic feeling was washed away.

Kihel: Such a pretty moon... It shines just like the moon I see in Atlas. Father... Everyone... Even now, underneath this light...

His feelings that he let out rode with the night and were carried towards the starry sky. As I was looking at the side of Kihel's face, the shadows hid his usual cheerfulness...

(No matter how many kind words he says, he's still...)

The unbearable thoughts that were spiraling in my head made it obvious.

MC: I'm sorry...

(If anything, it's because dreams weren't being sent in.)

As I felt a little bit closer to his pain, I touched his arm. Kihel's body suddenly trembled and he moved his gaze from the distant sky to me...

Kihel: Don't make such a sad face.

When he whispered that to me softly, he gently petted my head.

MC: Kihel...

Kihel: Wait... I'm the one who made you do that.

As Kihel made a troubled wry smile, he lightly shrugged his shoulders. When I felt the gentle warmth from the palm of his hand just now, my chest tightened.

MC: Me too... I want to make you smile as well.

(But, I still don't know anything about Atlas... There's nothing I can do.)

With disappointment filling up my heart, I closed my lips tightly.

Kihel: ...How troubling. It looks like I'm weak when you make that kind of face.

As Kihel's smooth fingers were against my cheek, he made a helpless smile.

Kihel: What I really want to say is that I'm feeling uneasy too. I don't know what I'm going to do from here on. If possible, I would like to be with you.

MC: ...!

I felt a sharp pricking pain running through me from that possibility coming at me. As my heart felt like it's about to burst, I desperately tried to endure it...

Kihel: Hey, Princess. Will you hear me out?

I became wrapped up by his gentle voice that couldn't be anymore softer.

Kihel: Even if I end up on the wrong path, these feelings right now... My feelings of what I like about you won't change. Like your warmth and your beautiful smile. You feeling pain for my sake and your kindness... I won't forget them.

The words that Kihel was saying one at a time, I was keeping them in a special place in my heart.

MC: Me too, today... The kindness that you give and your strength, I won't forget them.

(Like if we end up parting ways, we'll be connected like in this moment. I believe in that.)

With those strong feelings, I looked straight at Kihel.

MC: No matter what...

Kihel: Yeah, no matter what.

As the two of us looked at each other deeply, we etched each other's current forms into our memories. Above us, as we were looking at each other, the sky looked like it was splitting as a single shooting star appeared...
