Chapter 1 - The Suspicious Prince

Kingdom of Rainbows, Oz, August... 

On top of a hill, where the sunlight was shining on, the prince, that had just woken up, rubbed his eyes.

Leonie: Uu... 

MC: Are you okay? What's your name...

Leonie: ...!? 

His shoulders shook as he looked a little confused for a moment and when he took a glance at me, he placed his hands on his hips and puffed out his chest. 

Leonie: I-I'm the lord of Simba that silences crying children... Leonie!

MC: Hello, Leonie. I'm MC. 

When I simply introduced myself, I held my hand out to him. Although, when Leonie looked at my hand, he became stiff. 

MC: ...Leonie? 

Leonie: ...!? 

Just as he looked at my face, he turned red and pale as he idly placed his fingers together in front of his chest. 

(Why won't he look at me?) 

Curious, I looked at his face. 

Leonie: Uwaaah!?

MC: Eh, I'm sorry, did I do something rude to you? 

As I was unable to figure out the distance between Leonie and I when he suddenly jumped away, I softly asked him that. 

Leonie: ...I-It's nothing! But, it's just that you suddenly approached me. Ah, but don't tell anyone about what just happened, okay!? Okay!? ...Got that?

MC: ...? Sure... 

When Leonie told me that as he was looking away with his face all red, I nodded anyway. 

(Is he... a shy person?) 

Despite his flashy looks, his nervous behavior was a little unnatural that it made me tilt my head to the side...

Chapter 2 - The Town of Simba

After awakening Leonie from a slumber at the hill that was tinged with red... As I was curious about his nervous behavior, we headed to the town of Simba. 

Since it was evening, the town was bustling with people that were returning from work and school. 

Leonie: ...Hm? 

At that moment, Leonie closed his eyes as his nose twitched. 

MC: This sweet scent is...? 

Among the row of stalls that were standing side by side at a street corner, we saw a tasty looking crepe stall over there. 

Leonie: ......

When I looked next to me, Leonie was unable to take his eyes off the crepe stall. 

(Is he hungry?) 

MC: Shall we go buy one?

Leonie: Huh!? I-I don't like sweets at all! I silence crying children... 

He said that same thing from when I woke him up and then... 

Townsperson 1: Oh, it's Leonie-sama! Leonie-sama has returned!

Townsperson 2: My, how delightful!

Leonie: Wha!? 

When the townspeople noticed Leonie, he immediately became surrounded. Even so, Leonie's eyes widened and gripped the hem of my blouse when he hid behind me in a panic.

Suddenly, when a dog barked after it ran off from the child that it was with, Leonie backed away greatly.

MC: How nice. It looks like everyone was waiting for your return, Leonie. 

Townsperson 2: Yes, it really is nice! Right, Leonie-sama? 

Townsperson 1: We were really worried since you've been absent for so long.

Chapter 3 - The Castle Rumors

When we entered the bustling town of Simba, Leonie, who had just woken up, became surrounded by people. 

Leonie: ...Dammit... If only I had courage...

Among everyone, I was the only one who heard him murmur that softly... Completely unaware, the people surrounding Leonie started to gossip.

Townsperson 1: Come to think of it, while Leonie-sama was absent, it seems like a ghost has settled down in the castle. 

Leonie: Huh!? A g-g-g-g-ghost!? No way, in my castle... 

His face suddenly turned pale. I...

Leonie: What, are you scared of g-ghosts? 

MC: Leonie, you're okay with them?

Right at that moment, Leonie jumped up and turned around. 

Shopkeeper: Ah, sorry, once of the merchandise fell. 

It looks like the shopkeeper of an antique shop broke a plate. 

Leonie: What the... Don't surprise me like that!

As Leonie wiped the sweat off his forehead, he strongly gripped his chest. 

(He doesn't look okay to me...) 

Just as the sun was about to disappear as it went towards west in the sky, the streetlights on the main street started to light up as it became dim... 

Townsperson 2: Ah, oh, dear, I should be going home soon. 

When the people left one after another, the two of us were the only ones remaining at that spot. Leonie's shoulders trembled as he looked towards the castle. 

Leonie: Dammit... Dammit!! How am I supposed to deal with a ghost... Especially, when I'm not good with ghost stories...

A warm breeze blew through our legs. As Leonie had his head down, he started to put his hands together restlessly. 

Leonie: If only I could find courage... I would've been able to do something like before!

(Find courage? Does he have some kind of condition?)

Leonie: I'm going back now!

My fingers reached out for Leonie's perplexed fingers... When I gently touched that hand as it was damp with sweat, the fear within him was conveyed to me. 

MC: You can do it, Leonie. 

Leonie: Y-Yeah... 

I tightly gripped his hand as our hands were slightly connected. My heartbeat started to become a little bit faster, maybe from fear or... Before it became night, we immediately walked towards the castle... 

Chapter 4 - The Courage That Disappeared

After leaving town, it became night by the time we arrived at the castle. Although, there was still a little bit of sunlight remaining. 

Leonie: I-It's okay, right!? There's nothing there, right? 

MC: Y-Yeah... 

For a while, Leonie wouldn't leave my side. He was strongly holding my hand with both of his... 

(Still, what an ominous castle... Is there anyone here? I wonder if Leonie and I can take care of this place for the night...) 

As my heart was being noisy... I froze when I slowly looked up at the side of Leonie's face beside me. 

Leonie: ...Uu... If I hadn't lost courage... This sort of thing wouldn't have happened...

Chapter 5 - The Eerie Doll Soldier

As the inside of the castle was starting to get dark, I ran towards where that sound came from... 

Leonie: W-Wait! Don't leave me by myself!!

Leonie followed me from behind with a ghastly expression.

MC: Leonie, why did you follow me? 

Leonie: What am I supposed to do!! Y-You'll be sorry for leaving me alone in a place like this! S-So, don't leave me by myself so willingly!

MC: O-Okay... Sorry. 

When he said that so desperately, I nodded. Leonie's complexion was already so pale. 

(Leonie must be really scared...) 

MC: Then, you can stay behind me. 

Leonie: O-Okay! J-J-J-Just don't let go of my hand no matter what!

MC: Okay. 

Leonie held my hand with his big one.

While thinking about it a little, I held his hand tightly. Filled with fear, I placed my hand on the door to the room where the strange sound from earlier was heard. 

When the door squeaked as I opened it... 

Doll Soldier...!!

MC: Eh!? 

As soon as I opened the door, a strange mechanical doll attacked. I...

After evading the attack of the dangerous doll soldier, I turned around and looked for Leonie.

MC: Eh!? W-Wait, Leonie!!

Doll Soldier: ...

As I was left by myself, the eerie doll soldier approached me with a blank look. 

(W-What do I do...!)

When I looked around in a panic, I threw a nearby candlestick at the doll soldier. Just as the doll soldier faltered for a moment... 

MC: Leonie! Don't leave me behind!

I followed after him when I ran into the darkness as well...
