Chapter 6 - Helping Out

Just as Nayuta-san's tail touched my arm, it slowly moved away... 

MC: ...

Nayuta: MC? Is there anywhere else that you want to go to? 

When he looked at my face, I suddenly came to my senses. 

MC: Ah, no, I was just in a daze...

Nayuta: That's why I want to make a lot of memories with you. Enough that'll make you remember them even after we part.

Various colorful flowers were swaying from the wind.

Nayuta-san took me to a large vast field of flowers. 

Nayuta: We'll be picking these yellow flowers this time.

The soft lustrous flower petals made it look like a pansy. 

Nayuta: We've raised them from the seeds that we've received from the Kingdom of Flower Spirits* and the Kingdom of Flowers and Greenery*.

MC: There are so many kinds of plants. 

The ongoing carpet of bright flowers made me sigh in admiration. 

Nayuta: It's hard to get the flowers we need from outside the kingdom every time. That's why we grow what we can here. But, as for the ones that we're growing in this kingdom, we have them sent to us. 

MC: You do trades too, Nayuta-san? 

Nayuta: Yeah. I like listening to outsiders' stories. They always come here at random most of the time. 

Nayuta-san rested his chin on his knee and smiled happily. 

(Huh? But, why?) 

That simple question suddenly came to mind. 

MC: Even though there are hot springs, why do you have bath powders? 

Nayuta: Since I use my time taking baths, it gets boring taking the same bath every day without any change. That's why I want to enjoy the bath by changing it's color and scent. 

(To think that's the reason why he made this vast field of flowers. He really does care deeply about the people that come to visit to take a bath.) 

Nayuta: If you put in the medicinal herbs, it'll add in a different effect to the usual hot spring. 

MC: There are so many good things that you can do with it. 

Nayuta: That's right. That's what makes the flowers so soothing. 

After saying that, he picked a yellow flower and sniffed it. I did the same thing as he did and enjoyed the flower's scent. 

(What a nice refreshing scent. It might make the bath feel good with it in it.) 

With the basket that was filled with yellow flowers, Nayuta-san stood up. 

Nayuta: After this, I'll make a special bath powder for you. 

MC: Really? 

Nayuta: Next, let's go here. 

Without answering my question, Nayuta-san started walking lightly. Although, that carefree behavior made me feel at ease...

I was taken to the maintained greenhouse. There were plants with vibrant leaves and various colorful flowers in bloom. 

MC: To think... that there was even a greenhouse. 

As I was surprised while looking around the inside of the greenhouse, Nayuta-san puffed his chest out proudly. 

Nayuta: Isn't it amazing? It's been built to give a little motivation. 

(So many kinds of different plants... Just taking care of them must be a ton of work.) 

Nayuta: You seem to have taken a liking to the hot spring that's effective on lovesickness. I've thought about adding in a bath powder that'll give it a nice scent. 

When he mentioned the word, "lovesickness", his innocent smile made my heart skip a beat. 

MC: What kind of flower are you going to pick this time? 

Nayuta: Let's see... I wanted you to choose a flower that you'd like and that's fitting for love. 

MC: For love...? 

Nayuta: I'm looking forward to it. You can use whatever for a bath powder. 

Nayuta-san grinned. That smile made it feel like a flower of love was blooming within my heart... 

Last Chapter - The Outcome of Lovesickness

As I searched for "a flower that's fitting for love", I continued walking inside the greenhouse...

(All the flowers are really nice, but... Ah, this one.) 

I slowly reached for the beautiful double blossomed rose that had orange petals. When I took a sniff of it, a sweet feeling was spreading within my heart like the time Nayuta-san smiled at me. 

MC: I'll go with this. 

When I showed Nayuta-san the flower that I chose... 

Nayuta: Since you chose that flower, it seems like you have a serious illness. 

MC: Serious illness? 

Nayuta: Lovesickness. 

MC: Eh...

Once I've realized the meaning behind the flower I chose, I gasped. 

Nayuta: But, it might be the right choice. It's a flower that's significant in being effective on lovesickness after all.

Paying no mind to me being flustered, Nayuta-san carefully removed the rose's thorns. As he shook it around in his hand, it emitted a dizzying sweet scent. 

Nayuta: ...

Just as his tail suddenly straightened up... 

Nayuta: Let's hurry and see how effective it is. 

Captivated by his bewitching gaze, I stiffened up. 

MC: Nayuta-san...? 

Nayuta: It wouldn't be bad to go into the bath with lots of rose petals floating in it together with you. Alright, let's go test it out!

MC: P-Please wait!

I felt like I was about to go crazy from the sudden situation. 

MC: By together, you don't mean? You're joking again, right...? 

Then, Nayuta-san suddenly smiled... 

Nayuta: You don't want to? 

His smile took hold of my heart and wouldn't let go.

Nayuta: Let's go. I'll take you to my personal open-air bath.

When he left the greenhouse, the only thing I could do was follow him...

When he returned from the nearby open-air bath, Nayuta-san stood in front of me.

After he said that, he held my hand and made it touch his own collar. 

Nayuta: I'll let you strip me. 

MC: ...!

Enjoying my reaction, he smiled. 

Nayuta: Won't we get along more if we go into the bath together? 

I could feel Nayuta-san's heartbeat from the area of his collar that my hand was touching. 

Nayuta: I wouldn't let you touch me if you weren't someone I really like. You're the first person... to have ever done this to me. 

MC: That's... 

Nayuta: Why would I need to lie? Even though I've been rather kind to you? 

His two tails entangled around my arm affectionately.

Just as Nayuta-san led my hand the next moment...

He slowly made it expose his neck. When his kimono lightly fell, Nayuta-san's skin became revealed... 

MC: ...!

With his chest being more muscular than I've imagined... I was unable to look straight at him and averted my gaze. 

MC: ...I'm sorry. 

When his tails lightly entangled my waist, I looked at Nayuta-san. 

MC: U-Um..? 

Nayuta: Why are you apologizing? I've always wanted to get close to you like this.

Emitting from his body was the scent of a peculiar hot spring and the sweet scent of that rose... 

Nayuta: It's strange. To think that a woman would come into my own heart like this... This is probably what they call lovesickness. 

Slowly... His arms went around my body. As I was held against his chest, I closed my eyes. Then, all I could hear was the sound of hot water pouring into the hot spring... and Nayuta-san's heartbeat...
