Chapter 6 - The Perfect Theory

Oswald-san went to his desk for the revival of the magic rainbow... After a few hours had passed, he suddenly hit the desk as he got up. 

MC: What's wrong!? 

Oswald: It's just as you said, I do know the requirements to create a rainbow!

MC: ...!

Oswald: In other words, I don't need to worry about magic! Have you ever made a rainbow? Like from watering the garden... 

MC: Yes, from when I was little. I had fun flooding out the garden, but I got scolded for it.

Chapter 7 - The Engineer That Can Create a Rainbow

The next morning... 

When the soft morning sunlight woke me up, I was in the bed of the guest room. 

(I... I ended up falling asleep in Oswald-san's room...) 

After I got up and rubbed my eyes, I quickly realized something. 

(The plan... I wonder how the rainbow turned out.) 

Once I quickly got dressed, I headed to Oswald-san's room... 

When I got there... The cabinet minister and castle guards came out from the room and were pushing a cart that had some tightly packed luggage on it. 

Minister: Oh, MC-sama, good morning. 

MC: Cabinet Minister, what's all that? 

Minister: I don't know the full details, but it's Oswald-sama's orders. 

There was someone looking at the detailed blueprints about the machine and tools. It was... 

Oswald: Good morning! Did you rest well yesterday? 

MC: Sorry, I ended up falling asleep...

MC: Also, the rainbow...

MC: Yes, I can't wait to see what kind of rainbow you'll make. 

Oswald: Yeah, look forward to it, MC-chan!

At that moment, he lightly kissed my forehead. 

MC: ...Oswald-san!? 

Oswald: It's a morning greeting, a greeting... Well, I alraedy did that though, haha. 

As he smiled teasingly, he patted my back. 

Oswald: Now then, it's time for the big experiment to start, so let's hurry outside!

MC: Okay. 

When Oswald-san pulled my hand and went outside the castle, I became filled with anticipation... 

Last Chapter - The Machine That Can Create a Rainbow

At the place where Oswald-san pushed me to... 

It was a wide area in a richly green forest behind the castle. 

MC: You're going to make a rainbow here?

Oswald: Looks like I have to tell you since you've asked so honestly. This device shoots out mist and when the raindrops gets reflected by the bright atmosphere, it creates a rainbow. 

MC: I see.

After he explained it, I looked up at the huge device. At that moment, a guard shouted. 

Guard: Oswald-sama! All the installations are done. 

Oswald: Okay, then let's hurry and try it out! Once I give the signal, turn on the switch. 

When he raised his hand and shouted at them, he swung his hand down. The next moment... A large amount of mist was emitted into the sky from the forest. 

MC: ...!

Due to the thin sheet of water being sprayed, it was lightly raining in the entire area. 

Oswald: Here, don't you see? Isn't it just perfect timing? 

MC: Eh? 

When I looked up to where he was pointing at... 

MC: A rainbow!

Among the lightly faint rain, I saw seven bright colors. 

MC: Amazing, there's actually a rainbow over the castle, so pretty... 

The people that helped cheered and applauded loudly. 

After seeing that, Oswald-san made a satisfied nod. 

Oswald: Look, this is the results of my work! I can't use magic, but with engineering, I can do this sort of thing.

Oswald: Yeah and also, I was able to do such a large experiment with you in this kingdom... 

He sounded oddly serious as he said that. 

MC: What do you mean? 

Oswald: Hmm... In front of everyone is a little... MC-chan, cna you come over here? 

MC: ...? Okay. 

When I approached him after he signaled me to come towards him...

MC: Oswald-san... 

Oswald: So, won't you at least come to my kingdom to hang out every once in a while? 

With the rainbow behind him, the sunlight shined on his face refreshingly...

MC: Yes...!

My heart skipped a beat when I energetically gave him that answer... 

He wrapped his arms around my waist and gently hugged me. 

MC: ...!? 

I slightly moved from shock, but his arms wouldn't let me go. 

Oswald: The time when you were sleeping... I couldn't help myself. 

MC: Oswald-san... 

While the people were paying attention to the rainbow, Oswald-san gave me a small kiss on the lips... 

MC: ... 

When his wet lips softly met mine, he quietly backs away afterwards... Then, I noticed that the rainbow's colors got brighter.

Oswald: Now then... What should I make next!

As if everything has ended peacefully, Oswald-san pointed at the rainbow with his staff. 

MC: ... 

My cheeks were red from bewilderment because of what I felt earlier, but... 

Due to the misty rain, I only felt the refreshing breeze blowing for some reason...
