Chapter 6 - A Favor

The sadness that was holding Zant-san's heart and the kindness that he holds... While knowing about those two things at the same time, I remembered his older brother's words...

I visited Zant-san's room. 

Zant: You... What is it? 

MC: I... I have a favor to ask of you. Since I don't know anything, I probably don't have the right to ask you this kind of favor. But, will you hear me out? 

After I told him that intermittently, he silently nodded...

Chapter 7 - To That Place...

After hearing my request, Zant-san thought about it for a while. 

Zant: ...

(I knew it... I may have said something that pried into the wounds of his heart. Still...!) 

The moment I tightly gripped the palm of my hand... 

Zant: ...Okay. Since you said that you want me to take you there, I'll do it. To the earth shrine...

Then, his light blue eyes widened. 

Zant: ... 

He looked around the shrine as if he had noticed it for the first time. The hill that is still completely ruined from the time of the incident happening... The rocky surfaces that are showing all over the place that is the strong remainders of the incident that happened. 

Zant: ...I've been looking away and continued distancing myself... Because of that, time has stopped when the incident happened here... 

As Zant-san was putting up with the painful memories, he closed his eyes... 

Last Chapter - The Revived Earth, A Breathing Heart

We tidied up the area around the shrine that was completely in ruins. While we were cooperating with each other, we removed the rubble and sediments...

By the time we've finally tidied up the area, the sun was already setting...

Zant: I ended up making you help. 

MC: It's okay... I'm the one who asked you to do this. But, it sure is pretty dreary. 

As I looked at the hill that was shining red from the sun, I sighed. 

Zant: Before... This was a beautiful place that had all kinds of flowers blooming. 

Zant-san crouched down and touched the ground with the palm of his hand. 

Zant: It has weakened completely and lost it's earth power. It's because it's been neglected for so long. The power of the spirits has become so weak... 

Saddened by the withered earth, he looked down. 

MC: This place is like the courtyard and the vegetable garden, so can't you make the greenery verdant and luxuriant again? 

Zant: ...

As he had his eyes down, Zant-san listened closely to the voice of the earth. Then... 

Zant: ...It doesn't seem to be dead yet, I can hear it's voice a little. With the power that I hold... 

Zant-san got up and took a deep breath.

Zant: I'll try it...!

After saying that clearly, there was a shred of strong determination that he's never shown before on his face. While continuing to breathe calmly, Zant-san chanted some mysterious words with his eyes closed. 

Zant: Earth spirits... The large power that lies within Terramater... Hear my wish as the ruler of the household... Lend me your ears... Please, give the spirits' divine protection to this land once more... 

From within the gaps of Zant-san's hands that were put together, a faint light was pouring out. Then, that golden light was released and strongly brightened up the hill that the sun was shining on...

I closed my eyes from the strong light. Then, when the mild scent of dirt started overflowing the area... 

MC: T-This is...!? 

After I opened my eyes, I became speechless from the scene that suddenly appeared. 

MC: No way... Even though there was nothing earlier. 

The scene that was only filled with sadness, the whole area around the shrine where Zant-san was standing at was... It changed into a magical place that looked like spring has arrived in only that spot as fresh leaves were budding and flowers were blooming.

MC: Pretty... To think that it became such a beautiful place.

Zant: Yeah... 

When he held out his arm that became tanned from the sun, a spring breeze blew from somewhere and swept away the fallen cherry blossoms in the whole area. The view of the sunset's burning red and the golden light was so beautiful that it took my breath away... 

Zant: ...

While looking up at the flower petals that were fluttering in the sky, Zant-san made an expression that looked the most peaceful so far. 

Zant: Even though it's just this area now, I'm sure that the earth in this entire area will regain it's strength by next spring. I promise to invite you to this kingdom again once that happens. 

MC: Zant-san... Yes, I'll be waiting. 

He reached out towards me. From his reserved smile, it seemed like he had regained a little self-confidence. When I held his hand that was reaching out, he hugged me in his robust arms. 

MC: ...

Zant: Ah... Sorry, was that too strong? 

Just as he was about to let go in a panic, I gently wrapped my arms around his back. 

Zant: MC... Thank you. 

This time, Zant-san hugged me gently. 

(I'm sure that this entire hill will be filled with flowers and until then... Zant-san's heart will be put at ease even more than before.) 

When I prayed for that faint wish to the earth, I silently closed my eyes as I was in Zant-san's arms...
