Aldebaran - Prince of Pleia - Main Story

Chapter 1 - The Field Working Prince

Kingdom of Stars, Pleia, May...

In a forest, where the warm sunlight was pouring on, along with a strong light, a prince was awakened from a ring.

Aldebaran: Ah~, I've slept well!

The prince lightly jumped up and stretched out his body.

(He seems to be a lively prince.)

At that moment, I saw that the prince was holding something.

(Hm? In his hand is... A hoe?)

Aldebaran: Did you save me?

MC: Yes, that's right.

Aldebaran: I see, thanks! My name is Aldebaran, just call me, Al! Your name is?

MC: It's MC.

Aldebaran: MC... That's a nice name!

MC: T-Thank you...

(I wonder why he's holding a hoe...)

Curious, I stared at Al's hand by reflex...

Aldebaran: Ah, you must be curious! While I was working in the fields, I got attacked due to my carelessness.

Al looked at me with an innocent smile as he spoke.

(...Working in the fields? A prince is?)

Aldebaran: Alright, as thanks for waking me up, I'll take you to my castle! Come on, over here!

MC: Eh!?

Al suddenly pulled my hand and started walking in the forest.

(He's somehow a very cheerful person.)

As the warm sunlight was shining through the gaps of the trees, his innocence made me break into a smile...

Chapter 2 - Innocent Smile

As Al was pulling my hand with the warm sunlight shining on us in the forest, we've arrived at the castle that was surrounded by fields entirely.

Aldebaran: I'm back!

Butler: A-Aldebaran-sama! You're all right!

The butler had a tear in his eye as he ran over here.

Aldebaran: I must've made you worried!

Butler: Yes... Her Majesty was worried as well...

I saw Al's face clouding up for a moment from those words.

Aldebaran: Oh, dear, I'm okay now! That's right! Are my fields all right?

Butler: Yes! While you were absent, I was taking care of them properly.

(Fields...)

Aldebaran: Also, MC saved me! Right!

MC: ...Yes.

Butler: MC-sama, you have my deepest gratitude.

The butler bowed to me politely.

MC: It was nothing, I'm the one who came to the castle so suddenly...

As the butler bowed gratefully, Al suddenly spoke from beside me.

Aldebaran: Okay, let's set up a welcoming party for MC today!

Butler: You must be joking. Her Majesty is unable to set up a party because of her current condition.

Aldebaran: But, think about it. I'm sure that Grandma...

Interrupting Al, the butler deeply sighed.

Butler: You shouldn't, Aldebaran-sama, now's not the time for jokes.

Aldebaran: I'm being serious~! Even Grandma will liven up once she hears about it~!

Butler: Well then, if you'll excuse me. I've got to go get dinner ready.

Ignoring Al's idea, the butler left.

Aldebaran: Uu~u.

(Al?)

With his usual smile, Al tilted his head to the side.

Aldebaran: Guess it can't be helped~! Since we can't have a welcoming party, I'll show you the courtyard!

Al pulled my hand as he looked at me with an innocent smile.

- Is that okay? (☽)

MC: Is that okay?

Aldebaran: About what we've talked about just now? Yeah, it's fine.

Al made a troubled smile.

- Okay (☼)

MC: Okay, please do then.

Aldebaran: Then, let's hurry!

Then, as Al was pulling my hand, we started walking towards the courtyard. The moment Al opened the door that leads outside, the smell of dirt drifted...

Chapter 3 - Al's Feelings

As the sun was slowly starting to set, dusk was beginning to spread in the courtyard.

Aldebaran: Here we are, this is the courtyard~!

MC: ...T-This place is?

From what I can see, the courtyard was surrounded by fields entirely and there were all kinds of vegetables growing.

(Aside from the courtyard, there are fields...)

Aldebaran: The courtyard of an agricultural kingdom has got to be like this.

When Al suddenly crouched down, he started touching the soil while humming.

(Al seems to be really enjoying himself.)

Aldebaran: Since I've been asleep this whole time, coming to the fields after a long time makes me happy.

Seeing Al being so happy made me break into a smile.

Aldebaran: I know! If you'd like, would you like to try watering the plants together?

After saying that, Al handed me a watering can.

MC: Thank you.

When Al told me how much water to use, I carefully watered the leaves that were showing from the ground. As water was pouring out from the watering can, each of the small leaves became vibrantly green.

Aldebaran: You sure have a hardworking attitude.

MC: Eh?

While watching me watering the plants, Al suddenly murmured that.

Aldebaran: Ah, sorry. That's what Grandma tells me a lot.

MC: Your grandmother...?

Aldebaran: Indulging in the luxurious life of a royal wouldn't do any good. She said that you need to understand the pain and pleasures of the kingdom's people by having the same livelihood as them.

(That's very nice thinking.)

-Flashback-

Butler: You must be joking. Her Majesty is unable to set up a party because of her current condition.

-Flashback-

MC: Um... Is your grandmother sick?

Aldebaran: Sorry. You must've been curious after hearing our conversation earlier.

- Was it okay for me to ask? (☽)

MC: Yes... Was it okay for me to ask?

Aldebaran: Yeah. There's no need to worry about it.

- I'm worried (☼)

MC: ...I'm worried.

Aldebaran: Thank you.

Aldebaran: Grandma has been confined to bed for quite a while now. But, I'm sure that she'll get better.

Al gently smiled at me.

MC: ...I see.

After finding out about his grandmother's condition, I looked down at the ground.

Aldebaran: Don't make that face.

MC: Al...

Al gently patted my head with his large hand.

- Smile (☼)

MC: Al... You're right, I'm sure that she'll get better.

Wanting to cheer up Al, I smiled at him.

Aldebaran: Thank you. You're so kind.

- Look down (☽)

Unsure on what to say, I looked down.

Aldebaran: Sorry for making you worried.

Aldebaran: When my parents passed away, she took their place into raising me soon after. She was really strict, but she was lively and brighter than anyone else. I loved how merry she was!

(...Could it be that.)

MC: You brought up the idea of a welcoming party earlier because your grandmother loves enjoyable things. Surely, that was what you were thinking of... Right?

Aldebaran: Because of what's been going on with Grandma, the castle has become gloomy. Since she thinks that it's her fault that all the fun has left the castle, she's been blaming herself. Also, if we could brighten up the castle, Grandma would surely be happy.

While smiling, Al looked down a little.

MC: ...Since it's your grandmother, I'm sure that would happen.

Aldebaran: Thank you, MC.

(I couldn't understand why Al is always smiling. But, he was actually worried... about his grandmother.)

Thinking about Al's feelings, warmth filled up my heart.

Aldebaran: We should return to the castle soon.

MC: Yes...

On our way back to the castle, a smile was still on Al's face...
