Aldebaran - Prince of Pleia - Sun End

Chapter 4 - A Serious Gaze

The fields were enveloped in the beautiful red sunlight. Meanwhile, Al and I were starting to return to the castle.

Aldebaran: Hm~m.

When Al suddenly stopped walking, he made a troubled smile and stared at me.

MC: What's wrong?

Aldebaran: I was thinking how I could get the servants to listen to me.

MC: What do you mean?

Aldebaran: H~m, how can I put this? It's about the idea of the welcoming party and I was actually serious about it. How can I make them take me seriously...

MC: Hmm...

(First off...)

MC: How about talking about it with a serious expression?

Aldebaran: A serious expression...

MC: Yes. Because you're always making a gentle smile all the time. During the serious moments, you should try looking at people directly in the eye while speaking...

As Al furrowed his brow, he opened and closed his mouth repeatedly.

Aldebaran: Looking at people in the eye directly... with a serious expression... I don't know how i can do it, but I'll try it!

Al made a somewhat refreshed expression and looked at me with a broad smile.

(Saying that soon after... Still. Al's smile is nice.)

Al's smile made me break into a smile. When we started walking back to the castle again, the warm sunlight shined on his back...

Last Chapter - The Bright Sun at Night

By the time Al and I returned to the castle, stars were starting to twinkle in the sky.

Butler: Welcome back. I'll go prepare your dinner.

The butler greeted us with a calm expression.

MC: Thank you very much.

When I took a glance at Al beside me, I saw that his face was stiff with nervousness.

(Al... You can do it!)

Aldebaran: U-Um... About what I mentioned earlier... I really do want to set up a welcoming party.

Al started speaking while looking at the butler directly.

Aldebaran: I want to thank her for saving me from the ring properly...

Butler: Bringing up that idea... A-Aldebaran-sama!?

When the butler saw Al's face, he suddenly began to take a step back.

(...What?)

When I looked at Al, his expression was very sharp and was above from being serious...

Butler: W-What are you so mad about...! My apologies!! Did you really want to set up a welcoming party that badly...!

Aldebaran: Eh? Y-Yeah...? What's wrong...?

Seeing the butler's reaction, Al widened his eyes in bewilderment next.

MC: A-Al, you might've scared him because you were too serious...

When I softly whispered that to him, Al's expression clouded up and he sighed.

Aldebaran: Ah, sorry... But, I'm serious. I don't want to make Grandma any sadder. I want to cheer her up, like how Grandma would always laugh and brighten up the castle back when she was still healthy.

Butler: ...Still, with a party?

Aldebaran: Yes...

When Al nodded seriously, the butler looked straight at him.

Butler: Fine. Let's have a grand party tomorrow.

Aldebaran: Really!?

Butler: It's going to get busy now that it has been decided. So, we need to start getting ready. ...Let's make this a lively party that'll reach Her Majesty's ears.

After the butler bowed, he ran off into the hallway.

Aldebaran: ...What a relief~!

MC: That's good.

The next moment...

MC: A-Al?

Al's slightly cold hand held mine.

Aldebaran: ...It's all thanks to your advice!

MC: I-I didn't do anything...

Al's large and warm hand started to make my heart race.

Aldebaran: I know! Won't you dance with me at tomorrow's party?

MC: Eh?

Al looked straight at me.

(A serious expression...)

When his feelings got through to me... I gripped his hand tightly.

MC: If you're okay with me, then of course.

When I smiled, he blinked repeatedly. Then, he took a deep breath and smiled broadly.

Aldebaran: Thank you.

His smile felt like the sun that was shining on my heart at night...
