Chapter 4 - The Fighting Tribe, the Toura Clan
Then, a week later... Lian-san's clan confronted the other clan that robbed this village. Along with the villagers, I was watching Lian-san and the others from the inside of a house.
Lian: So, you guys are the ones that robbed this village's supplies.
Enemy Clan 1: What's with you guys. Robbing is bad for our reputation. We've bargained with them properly.
Lian: I've heard about the unfair bargain. It's too much, so give them back.
Enemy Clan 2: Like we care. More importantly, you guys are in the way. We're going to be turning this village into our base. Get them!!
Then, the battle began...
(T-They're so strong...)
Even though the enemy had an overwhelming number, Lian-san took them down one after another.
Enemy Clan 1: They're the Toura Clan! Dammit!
Then, suddenly, the entire enemy clan was taken down...
Villagers: Hooray! As expected of Lian-sama and the others!!
(What a relief...)
When the villagers went outside, they ran over to Lian-san, but at that moment...
MC: ...!!
One of the fallen enemies aimed an arrow at Lian-san.
Enemy Clan 3: Die!
MC: Lian-san!!
The sharp sound of the arrow being released echoed throughout the area...
Last Chapter - Lian's Smile
Enemy Clan 3: Die!
When the enemy released an arrowed towards Lian-san...
MC: Lian-san!!
Without thinking, I frantically stood in front of Lian-san.
Lian: ...!!
When he held me from behind, I was strongly pulled back and... The arrow struck Lian-san's shoulder.
Lian: ...
MC: Lian-san!!
Enemy Clan 3: Tsk!
The man that shot the arrow immediately fled from there.
Villager Man: Hold it!
Lian: Let him go! It's dangerous!
Lian-san stopped the villager that was about to go after him.
MC: Lian-san! Are you okay!?
Lian: This sort of thing is nothing.
When Lian-san took out the arrow that struck him, his clothes became stained with red.
MC: W-We need to hurry and give you treatment...!
Just as I was about to leave to search for some bandages to stop the bleeding, Lian-san's large hand grabbed my arm.
Lian: ...Were you about to protect me?
MC: It was in the spur of the moment... But, you got hurt in the end.
When I responded shakily, Lian-san placed his hand on my head and gently smiled.
(What a kind looking face...)
Lian: Thank you. Really, don't worry about me. I'm used to this kind of injury. More importantly, is everyone all right?
As he said that, Lian-san started looking around at his clan.
(Even though Lian-san is injured...)
I turned around and left to look for some bandages to stop his bleeding...
That night...
The village held a victory party with the small amount of supplies that they have.
MC: Is your injury all right?
Lian: Yeah, it doesn't hurt anymore thanks to your treatment.
(Is he telling the truth...)
The torchlight shined on Lian-san's handsome face.
Lian: Aside from that, you went too far.
MC: Eh?
Lian: It would've been bad if you got hurt, you could've died.
MC: ...I'm sorry.
Lian: You don't need to apologize. You were just trying to protect me.
Lian-san chuckled with a smile.
MC: Um... Lian-san?
Lian-san patted my head.
Lian: No, sorry. This is the first time that I've made a girl worry. But... You should think more about yourself a little.
His large hand petted my head. That warmth felt strangely reassuring.
MC: Okay...
Lian: The first red star is shining beautifully today as well.
When I looked up, it was emitting a red light in the sky that was entirely filled with stars.
MC: It's the Dawn Goddess, right?
Lian: Yeah... The goddess seems to be more reckless than I thought though.
MC: Eh?
lian-san looked down at me and smiled. Unable to understand the meaning behind those words, I felt the warmth of Lian-san's hand underneath the bright red star...
