Chapter 5 - Disappointing Reason

The next day after Lucien-san's servant called for Adiel-kun... Adiel-kun came to the room that I was staying in. 

Adiel: I want to make up for yesterday. So, I'm taking you to the flower field. 

MC: ...! Okay, thank you. 

(Huh...?) 

When I responded energetically, Adiel-kun didn't seem cheerful as usual. 

(Is something wrong?) 

Despite that we arrived at the flower field where a sweet scent is being carried by the wind and butterflies were flying, Adiel-kun seemed to be feeling down. When Adiel-kun sat down, I sat down next to him. 

MC: ...Did something happen? 

When I asked that reservedly, Adiel-kun looked at me with a melancholic look in his eyes. 

Adiel: ...You're amazing. You can see right through me. Yesterday... You know that I got called by Lucien, right? He scolded me about the child that was in the restricted area.

Last Chapter - About the Flower Field

As flowers were happily swaying from the wind blowing... As Adiel-kun was sitting in the flower field with his shoulders down, he was depressed from Lucien-san scolding him. 

Adiel: I wonder if he hates me. If that's the case, then I don't know what I should do... 

MC: ...I don't think so. 

When he said that bitterly, I spoke without thinking. 

Adiel: Eh? 

MC: Just like now, you become happy and sad, that's probably because you worry about Lucien-san...

Adiel: That's... So, that doesn't mean he hates me?

MC: I don't think he hates you. Yet...

As I tried to cheer him up, my cheeks became warm from what I said. 

Adiel: ... 

Adiel-kun looked straight at me.

MC: ...Yes. Because Lucien-san thinks that you'll sacrifice yourself for him someday.

As he made a teary expression, I gently touched his arm.

I stroked Adiel-kun's arm to calm him down. Then, Adiel-kun suddenly got up. 

MC: Adiel-kun? 

Just as I was about to get up quickly, he placed his hand on my head. 

Adiel: Don't move. 

Adiel-kun got behind me and sat down again. 

Adiel: ...Sorry, just let me do this. 

Withour backs against each other, I felt his warm soft wings. As I felt his warmth and heartbeat, my heartbeat became fast as well. 

(Why... so suddenly?) 

While thinking that my fast heartbeat was strange, I tilted my head to the side. 

Adiel: I'll get embarrassed from looking at your face upfront. 

MC: ...? 

Adiel: Thank you... Somehow, I feel refreshingly comfortable. I find you pretty interesting, MC. 

MC: ...!

Adiel: Making me accept my feelings like this, you're the first person to have changed that... MC... You're a special woman to me!

I felt my heart pounding from his heated tone. 

Adiel: I want to introduce you to Lucien. ...I feel like you'll make him smile. 

When he said that slightly reserved, my body warmth went up and I lightly nodded. 

MC: Okay...

Adiel: I-I see. I'm really glad that we're in this position. I don't want to show you my face right now. 

MC: ...Ah. 

When I moved my body and looked at him by reflex, his hand was on the ground as it was clenched tightly. 

Adiel: Didn't I tell you not to? 

MC: ...Okay. 

Feeling myself nod at that moment, I placed my hand on his back and felt his comforting warmth... As the flowers were swaying from the wind, it felt like they were watching us with smiles...
