Chapter 1 - In the Town of Sorcery

Kingdom of Sorcery, Soltiana, May...

In the perfectly clear sky, the townspeople were flying on brooms.

As I was walking through, I became excited. When a street performer on the road raised his hand, a small firework bloomed in the blue sky.

A tall man looked at my face with a grin. 

Townsman: If you'd like, want to hang out with me? 

MC: I-I need to go to the castle after this. 

Townsman: The castle~? You don't need to go to such a boring place, let's go do something more fun.

??: Sorry, but she has plans with me. 

Along with that bright voice, I felt something strong on my arm and I was pulled away from the man.

When Miya smiled at the girl that had tears in her eyes, he gently petted her head. 

Miya: Leave it to me!

After saying that, Miya nimbly climbed up the tree trunk... As soon as he got to the branch, he reached out towards the kitten. 

Miya: Come on, it's okay now. 

Although... 

Miya: Owowowow... 

The kitten became agitated and scratched Miya's arm. 

Miya: Hey, don't get all violent~ ...Ah!

Just as Miya went after the cat that was evading his arm, he lost his balance. 

MC: M-Miya!!

When the girl received the kitten from Miya, she hugged it dearly.

When the girl smiled happily, she thanked Miya and left. When I looked at Miya's arm, there was the scratch that the kitten made. 

MC: Miya, there's a scratch on your arm! We need to treat it... 

The red linear scratch that was bleeding looked painful.

Those sweet words made me lay down next to Miya softly. 

MC: The moon is beautiful... 

Among the sparkling stars, it felt like the large round moon was washing away everything as it's soft light was shining down. 

Miya: You're right, it really is beautiful... I just want to look at it. 

MC: Do you like the moon, Miya? 

Miya: ...Aside from liking, I think I admire it. 

MC: Admire it? 

Miya: The moon doesn't force itself to shine and can become the main lead at night like this. How nice... Also, compared to me... 

When I heard Miya's voice, I felt pain...

I asked the maid that came to change the bedsheets in the room. 

Maid: If it's Miya-sama, then he should have gone to the forest behind the castle this morning.

Miya: Who are you? 

Robed Man: I have business with Prince Ilia, but unfortunately, he doesn't seem to be in the castle right now. 

(Prince... Ilia? I heard that name many times at the party yesterday... If he's a prince, Miya's brother...?) 

Miya: You have an attachment towards Ilia too? I'm so jealous~

Miya said that to the man teasingly. 

Robed Man: When will Prince Ilia be back? 

Miya: You think that I would kindly tell that to a suspicious guy like you?
