Chapter 5 - Monster Approaching

After I went after the girl, I ended up on the west side of the neighborhood near the castle wall. 

(I'm scared... But, I have to hurry and find that child.) 

There was a heavy atmosphere around the area as armed soldiers were all over the place. 

Prytwen: MC! What are you doing here!? Hurry and get to safety... 

MC: Prytwen-san...!

When I saw him, I felt oddly reassured. 

MC: I'm looking for a little girl that ran over here. If I don't hurry and find her... 

Prytwen: A girl...? Got it, I'll go look for her. So, hurry and get away from here...!

MC: Okay...!

At that moment, a cloud of dust went up along with a crushing sound. 

Monster: ROAAARRR!

A huge monster went through the castle wall and stood in front of us. 

(No way... Something this big...) 

Prytwen: MC, get down...!

As I was lost in thought, Prytwen-san jumped in front of me with his shield, but... 

Monster: ROOOOOAAAARRR...!

When the monster used it's long hair to create a strong wind, it blew us away and made us land in two separate places.

MC: ... 

I managed to get up, but in front of me, the monster roared and approached me. 

Prytwen: MC...!!

The moment I instantly closed my eyes, I heard Prytwen-san yelling out my name... 

Last Chapter - In the Name of the Shield Wielding Prince

The monster in front of me raised it's foot over me.

Prytwen: MC...!!

I closed my eyes, but I felt no impact for some reason... 

MC: ...? 

When I nervously opened my eyes, I saw Prytwen-san resisting the attack with his shield. 

MC: Prytwen-san...!

Despite running over here from afar, Prytwen-san was steadily holding his shield up. 

Monster: ROOOAAAARRR!!

With a roar, the monster knocked Prytwen-san away. 

Prytwen: ...Kuh. 

After he fell to the ground, he got up as he wiped some blood off his mouth. 

Prytwen: Now you've done it... 

The monster menacingly turned towards Prytwen-san and approached him again.

Prytwen: ...Come. 

As Prytwen-san gave the monster a bloodthirsty look, he charged towards it's chest. In such little time, the monster tried to endure the hit from the shield, but it got sent off flying. 

MC: ...!

When the monster fell, I froze from astonishment. 

(It's down...?) 

Prytwen: MC... 

I turned towards Prytwen-san as he was breathing heavily. When I ran over to him, I stopped once I saw how pale he was. 

(Prytwen-san...?) 

Meanwhile, the soldiers suddenly ran in. At that moment, Prytwen-san gave orders to his subordinates and in the end, we were unable to speak to each other... 

After the monster was taken down, I found out that the girl that I was following was okay. Since Prytwen-san's injuries haven't been treated, I went to take care of him afterwards... 

At night, when we got to my room, Prytwen-san showed me his painful injuries. 

MC: This'll probably sting a little... 

As we sat down on the sofa, I looked at his face. When I gently placed a cotton ball with some disinfectants on his injury around his mouth... 

Prytwen: ... 

MC: Ah, sorry. 

Prytwe: No... 

Prytwen-san shook his head a little and became quiet for a bit. 

(...He won't look at me.) 

I felt a stinging pain in my heart as I looked at him hanging his head down. 

(...He's probably mad because I didn't listen after he told me to find safety.)

MC: If I had listened to you, we wouldn't have been in danger... You're mad, right? 

Prytwen: ! No, you're wrong... I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at myself. 

MC: Yourself...? 

Prytwen-san made a frustrated look. 

Prytwen: I... I should've escorted you to a safer spot properly. Because of my poor judgement, you ended up being put in danger. At that time, I shouldn't have stayed away from you... 

MC: You're wrong, it's not your fault... 

Although, he sharply furrowed his brow and bit his lip. The injury that had dried out on his mouth began to turn red again. 

MC: Prytwen-san, your injury... 

When I said that as I reached out to him, he suddenly grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him. 

MC: Eh...? 

As I was surprised at the moment, Prytwen-san placed his lips against mine. 

MC: ......

I was at the mercy of the heated kiss as it continued on and got deeper. The moment I was feeling faint, our lips finally parted from each other and then, he hugged me in his arms. 

Prytwen: You're so important to me... I can't stop these feelings... 

(Prytwen-san...) 

Prytwen: Isn't it strange? It's because I've been like this since we've first met... But... The moment I saw you, I... 

As he sounded like he was in pain, he conveyed his feelings to me wholeheartedly. 

Prytwen: ...I don't want to put you in danger again. I vow in the name of the shield wielding prince. So... I want you to stay by my side... 

His heated voice echoed in my ear... His gallant, strong... and passionate feelings made my heart skip a beat. As a response to those feelings, I gently wrapped my arms around his back...
