Seras - Prince of Seitos - Main Story
Chapter 1 - A Long Time Reunion
Kingdom of Auroras, Seitos... As the warm sunlight shined on the small flowers that were blooming in the crevices of the ground... It's been a while since I've been here, so I went to visit Seras-san.
MC: It feels like the town has brightened up more since the last time I came here.
When I smiled from looking at the people, I remembered the sights I saw during my last visit in Seitos... This kingdom has been called the kingdom of electric particles because it collects electricity, so that the guardian deity, Minerva the owl, can make an aurora by releasing those particles, which balances things out.
(But, because of the Magna group...)
The people locked Minerva, the symbol of happiness, in the forest shrine. Since an aurora couldn't be brought out, the electric particles that have gathered in the kingdom made the land and buildings collapse, so everything has crumbled down.
(It didn't just brighten up, the town has become pretty too. Is it because the auroras have returned?)
I looked up at the clear sky.
??: What are ya lookin' at? The sun is still up, so you won't see an aurora.
MC: !
When I heard that, I quickly turned around and... Seras-san was right behind me and was looking up at the sky as well.
(Was he watching me just now...?)
Feeling embarrassed, I looked at Seras-san.
Seras: Such nice weather.
As Seras-san narrowed his eyes behind his glasses, he instantly moved his gaze towards me.
Seras: Long time no see. Ya doin' well?
MC: Yes, what about you?
Seras: I'm da same as usual. It's natural fo' me to be fine all da time. Didn't ya know?
When Seras-san backed away from me, he smiled. As I was unsure on how to respond to those words...
Seras: C'mon, let's head to da castle. The ground is unstable, so watch ya step.
With his back facing me, Seras-san walked ahead.
(Seras-san is a really vague person...)
When I thought of that, I watched Seras-san from behind...
Chapter 2 - An Audience with the Queen
When we arrived at the castle, alongside with Seras-san, we were led to the audience room. The retainers that were on both sides of the room were in waiting as there was a heavy air around.
(What's happening...?)
As we were in front of the empty throne, I shrunk back in fear beside Seras-san.
Seras: Sorry fo' how stiff it is. I've kept hearing about how she wanted to meet ya no matter what. So, bear with it fo' a bit.
MC: Who wants to meet me?
Seras: The queen... My granny.
At that moment, the queen, along with some retainers, appeared as she slowly sat down on the throne. The tense atmosphere made me straighten myself up.
Queen: Welcome.
The queen's eyes that were like Seras-san's narrowed as she gently smiled.
MC: Thank you very much for inviting me.
When I bowed, the queen slowly shook her head.
Queen: We're the ones that should be thanking you. Also, you went through all the trouble into coming to Seitos when we called you over here...
MC: No, it's no problem...
Seras: C'mon, Granny. You're makin' MC stiffen up. Enough already.
Beside me, Seras-san made a troubled smile.
Seras: Well, we really can't thank ya enough. When Magna came to dis kingdom, our views here became divided and so many disputes were happenin'. The monarchy couldn't think of a good plan fo' da kingdom either... As a result, dis prince here went missin'. It was a really bad situation.
When Seras-san looked outside the window, I noticed a regretful look in his eyes.
Seras: I didn't know what to do durin' dat awful time... It was unbearable.
Queen: The kingdom's cornerstone only became worthless and the people were going through a lot of hardship.
Seras: Includin' Minerva...
Queen: Even so, you led the people down the right path, so please let us thank you.
(Your Majesty...)
To calm myself down, I slowly took a deep breath.
MC: I'm glad that I was able to be of help to you. Also, it's good to have met you like this unharmed.
Suddenly, a large hand was on top of my head.
Seras: You're such a good gal.
Seras-san petted my head as he gently smiled. That smile made his expression look more gentler than before... I felt my heart throbbing sweetly.
......
After leaving the throne room, Seras-san led me to a room.
Seras: You just came here, so you must be tired. You can take it easy tomorrow.
Just as Seras-san was walking out, he waved his hand greatly towards me. Seeing his unnaturally cheerful behavior, I...
MC: Where are you going?
I asked that towards Seras-san's back.
Seras: Where, to my room.
As Seras-san made a bit of a confused look...
///Choices///
- I'll go too (☼)
MC: I'll go too.
Seras: Sayin' you'll go too, you're pretty assertive. What'll ya do if ya do come with me?
- Really? (☽)
MC: Really?
Seras: It's really nothin'... Do you doubt me dat much?
///Choices///
As I continued looking at him, Seras-san gave in and deeply sighed.
Seras: You're so sharp.
(He really is up to something.)
Seras: The construction for the da town's restoration is ongoin'. The maintenance process is urgent, so I need to go check it out.
MC: Then, let me help too...
Then, Seras-san furrowed his brow as he made a troubled smile.
Seras: I knew you were gonna say dat. What a blunder.
With a sigh, Seras-san murmured that somewhat troubledly.
......
When we left the castle, we headed to town again.
Seras: Dat area is still unstable, so be careful.
MC: Okay.
As I was walking behind Seras-san, I watched my step carefully.
Seras: Electricity was gathering' around and made the molecule connectivity all weird. When dat happens, I gotta use my time to repair it...
I remembered seeing the cracked ground from when I was going through this kingdom.
Seras: Well, even though it sounds difficult, it doesn't change da fact dat the ground has gone bad.
(How strange. Despite what Seras-san said, it lifted the heavy atmosphere. Is it because of the way he speaks? Come to think of it...)
When I became curious about the way he speaks with that unique dialect... Seras-san turned towards me and looked at my face.
Seras: What, is it about da way dat I speak?
MC: Eh...?
With those piercing eyes looking straight at me, it felt like he could see through my thoughts.
Seras: Ya wanna know? No matter what?
As he was pressing me with questions, I nodded...
Chapter 3 - Seras' Way of Speaking
When the afternoon bell rang in town... The townspeople stopped construction and started taking a break underneath the trees.
Seras: Dis manner of speakin'... It's because of dat fella's influence.
While walking through the main street, Seras-san murmured that seriously.
MC: By that fella?
When Seras-san grinned, he approached my ear. As I felt his warm breath against my ear, the ticklish sensation made my heart noisy.
Seras: I meant Minerva...
MC: Minerva?
When Seras-san looked straight at me, he nodded with a meek expression.
Seras: Since we were good friends, his way of speakin' rubbed off on me. Even so... We haven't been meetin' with each other, so we really drifted apart...
With a hand near the corner of his eye, Seras-san looked up at the sky dramatically.
(I see, it's because they got along so well...)
I felt their friendship wholeheartedly and...
MC: Huh? But, Minerva doesn't have an accent...
As I remembered the times that Minerva had spoken, I tilted my head to the side.
(Am I remembering wrong?)
When I went through my memories and thought about it deeply...
Seras: Crap, he's gonna get me for dis...
I heard Seras-san say that blankly.
MC: Could all of that have been... a lie?
I looked at Seras-san. He smiled without a care.
Seras: Yeah, there is a reason though~ Above all dat, you talked with Minerva. Huh... To think dat he spoke to ya.
Dodging the question, Seras-san looked towards the forest that's in the middle of town.
///Choices///
- Please tell me (☼)
MC: Please don't dodge the question and tell me properly.
Seras: Dat's a scary face you're makin'. You're gonna ruin dat pretty face of yours.
MC: ...!
Seras: Your face is turnin' red.
- Stop asking (☽)
(Could it be something that I shouldn't have asked about?)
When I closed my mouth from that though, Seras-san looked like he knew what I was thinking and placed his hand on my head.
Seras: I was just teasin' ya a little. There's no need to make dat kind of face.
///Choices///
Turning towards me, Seras-san fiddled with the rim of his glasses.
Seras: ...Actually. Minerva has been under da care of an old man. It was because of dat man's influence. Dat's da truth.
As it felt like he was ahead of my thoughts, Seras-san smiled.
Seras: The old man was a veterinarian dat has traveled da world for a long time. Since dat was eye catchin' about him, dis kingdom gave him da role of bein' Minerva's protector.
MC: A person like that...
Sitting down on the rubble, Seras-san looked at the forest again.
(That's where Minerva's shrine is...)
When I sat down next to him, I looked at the forest as well.
SEras: He was an interestin' old man. Since he traveled da world, my way of thinkin' changed somehow... I became hooked and would go listen to his stories. Then, before I knew it, I was talkin' like dis. Thinkin' about it, all sorts of things like da way I talk and think now is because of dat old man. Uwah... Gross!
Seras-san rubbed both of his arms and started laughing.
MC: He must be like a teacher to you, Seras-san.
Seras: !
When I said that, Seras-san suddenly stopped laughing.
(Ah... Could it be that I said something strange?)
Feeling uneasy, I looked at Seras-san's face... When he looked at me, he smiled softly.
MC: !
Just as my heart became noisy, my cheeks became warm.
Seras: A teacher, huh... Yeah. I like da way ya think.
MC: Seras-san...
Even though I didn't want to look away from his smile, I turned my face away in a panic.
MC: I would like to meet him too.
Seras: ...Dat's impossible.
MC: Eh...?
Seras: Da dream eaters put him in a slumber. He's unable to wake up now...
Remembering that time, Seras-san's eyes shook with pain within them...
///Choices///
- Don't say anything (☽)
(I did something rude...)
Overwhelmed with a strong regret, I looked down.
Seras: Don't worry about it. It's just da reality of things.
- I'm sorry (☼)
MC: I'm sorry...
Seras: Ya don't need to apologize.
///Choices///
Seras: Also, worryin' about da past won't change anythin' right now.
MC: Seras-san...
Seras: Minerva and I remember him well, dat's proof da old man's alive.
Seras-san gently petted my head. The warmth of that hand made my chest tighten in pain...
Chapter 4 - The Town's Reconstruction
By the time afternoon break was over... We joined the townspeople into reconstructing the road with large cracks.
Seras: It's pretty messy, so be careful.
After saying that to the construction workers, Seras-san covered the subsidence in the road with soil. As I watched Seras-san, I joined the townspeople in planting the flower seedlings and trees on the roadside.
Townswoman: My apologies for troubling you, Princess.
The woman, who was in charge of planting the trees, bowed to me apologetically.
MC: It's okay, I wanted to do it. It's nice to make everyone happy.
Seras: We ordered those flowers from da Kingdom of Flower Spirits and da Kingdom of Flowers and Greenery*. Aren't they pretty?
T/N: Gerber, Akito, Nepenthes, Lyon and Julius' kingdoms
Listening to our conversation, Seras-san said that from slightly afar.
MC: They are.
(They really are pretty...)
With the seedlings in hand, I looked at the cute yellow flowers.
Children: Seras-sama~!
Hearing those cheerful voices, I turned towards Seras-san... When the children ran over and surrounded Seras-san, they pulled his clothes.
Child 1: Seras-sama, let's play~! Let's continue tag from before!
Seras: I can't play. I'm workin' right now. Can't ya see dat?
Child 2: Not at all!
The children responded in the same manner that Seras-san speaks. When I broke into a smile, I hid my mouth with my arm.
Seras: Don't copy me. Come on, go play over there.
Child 1: Eh~? Then, do an imitation of Minerva and we'll do that!
Seras: Guess it can't be helped... Hoo hoo... I'm Minerva... As if I would do somethin' like that, dummy!
When Seras-san said that, the children laughed and ran off.
Seras: Geez, dis ain't da time to play...
While looking at the children, Seras-san sighed somewhat happily.
(To think that Seras-san acts so differently with children...)

- It's kind of unexpected (☽)
MC: It's kind of unexpected.
Seras: Of course it is. I'm an unexpected person. Don't be so mean to me like dis. You're breakin' down my image.
- How cute (☼)
MC: It's kind of cute...
Seras: I heard dat. Was dat supposed to be a compliment?
///Choices///
When I softly murmured that, Seras-san responded loudly.
MC: Seras-san, you...
Seras: I was born with sharp ears!
MC: ...!
As it felt like he was reading my thoughts, his response came over here. Feeling embarrassed, I looked down.
MC: Ah... My hands stopped. Sorry.
Remembering that I was holding a flower seedling, I quickly dug into the ground.
Townswoman: It's okay. Just do it slowly.
As the woman chuckled, she looked at Seras-san.
Townswoman: Seras-sama is always taking the initiative in the reconstruction like this. We're grateful, but... His Highness being here makes us uneasy.
MC: That's...
Townsman: That prince wasn't in the kingdom when we were in our gravest hour. That much is obvious!
At that moment, I was interrupted by an angry voice.
MC: Eh...?
A man that was in reconstruction glared at Seras-san. Those eyes that were filled with anger made me feel uneasy...
Chapter 5 - Dissatisfaction
-Flashback-
Townsman: That prince wasn't in the kingdom when we were in our gravest hour. That much is obvious!
-Flashback-
(That's...)
Townswoman: You, you're saying too much!
The woman quickly ran over to the man that was glaring at Seras-san.
Townsman: It's the truth! How can we trust him when he said that he's doing it for the kingdom now!
MC: Please wait. Seras-san faced Magna by himself to protect everyone from the dream eaters and-
Seras: Somethin' wrong?
Just as I heard Seras-san, I trembled.
///Choices///
- Nothing (☽)
MC: It's nothing.
Seras: It doesn't look like it's nothin'. Didn't I tell ya? I have sharp ears.
- It's my fault (☼)
MC: It's my fault. I kind of made a mistake with the flower seedlings.
Seras: ...Dummy. What does flower seedlings have to do with me, the dream eaters or Magna?
///Choices///
(He heard...)
Seras: What is it? If there's somethin' you want to say, say it.
I was drawn towards Seras-san's smile, but no one said anything and kept their mouths shut. Among the heavy atmosphere, Seras-san picked up one of the flower seedlings.
Seras: Flowers are soothin', but they're of no use if they bring down da mood. ...Looks like I'm da one who's bringin' down da mood.
MC: Seras-san...
Seras-san looked at the townspeople. Noticing all the clamor, other people stopped working and looked at us.
Seras: Everyone, I'm really sorry.
When his usual smile disappeared, Seras-san faced everyone and bowed deeply. Everyone gasped in surprise from the sudden gesture.
Seras: While everyone was sufferin', I was useless as a prince. Dat was really inexcusable of me.
MC: Seras-san...
As Seras-san had his head down, he clenched his fist.
Seras: At dat time, I thought I was useless to da world. I may have made da wrong decision... But, I'm consultin' dis with everyone, so dat I won't be useless. Does anyone have any doubts?
When Seras-san said that wholeheartedly, the townspeople looked at each other.
Seras: I have some things dat I want to say, but can't because of my role as a prince... But, da words dat I'm holdin' back will always be in my heart and won't disappear.
With a hand on his chest, Seras-san closed his eyes.
Seras: It troubles me what da right time it is to speak. But, dat somehow became today.
When Seras-san looked towards me, he smiled a little.
Seras: But, dis is unacceptable. Lookin' at me like dis, you can decide whether or not to forgive me.
Townsman: Your Highness...
Seras: What do you think of dat?
The people looked at Seras-san, one after another.
Townsman: Hmph... ...Then, show us that you can do it properly.
Seras: Of course. Then, let's start construction again. Everyone, good luck.
The man and Seras-san returned to the construction site. Following after, everyone that took a break started constructing again.
(Everyone...)
As the sun was setting, the sky started turning red. The warm orange sunlight gently shined on the smiles on everyone's faces...
