Chapter 6 - During the Way Back
The sunlight made a golden light fall through the gaps of the trees. After parting from the townspeople, we continued walking through the grove of trees until we arrived at the castle.
Seras: Somehow, I'm feelin' pretty tired. Sorry for makin' ya uncomfortable.
MC: It's okay. I had fun.
Seras: You sure are charmin'.
With an odd smile, Seras-san placed his hand on top of my head. When he gently petted me, my heart skipped a beat.
MC: You were really cool when you were working with everyone.
Seras: Sayin' somethin' directly like dat... I'm somehow no match for ya.
Feeling a little troubled, Seras-san looked away from me. I can see that Seras-san's cheeks were red because of the afterglow...
Chapter 7 - The Importance Behind Words
As the sunset was turning the forest trees red...
Seras: Dat's right.
Just as Seras-san thought of something, he removed his hand from my head. While feeling the lingering comfort of the weight and warmth from his hand, I looked at Seras-san.
Seras: Sorry if you're feelin' tired, but dere's one place dat I want to go to before headin' back to the castle. Is dat okay?
MC: A place that you want to go to? I'm fine with that, but...
Seras: I see, then I'll go git a horse carriage ready, so wait for a bit.
(A horse carriage? Where are we going?)
Just as we arrived at the front of the castle, Seras-san went to talk to the person at the gate... When he returned after a short while, Seras-san was making his usual smile.
Seras: While they're gettin' it ready, let's talk while waitin'.
MC: Okay.
The lights on the gate door shined within the darkness and created shadows.
Seras: Thanks for earlier.
As Seras-san looked at the sky beside me, he said that softly.
Seras: You were standin' up for me, right?
MC: That's...
-Flashback-
Townsman: It's the truth! How can we trust him when he said that he's doing it for the kingdom now!
MC: Please wait. Seras-san faced Magna by himself to protect everyone from the dream eaters and-
-Flashback-
When I remembered that I was unable to explain clearly at that time... Frustration was spreading throughout my heart.
MC: It was because you were somehow trying to get rid of the source of the dream eaters when you infiltrated Magna. You even saved us as well...
Seras: Isn't da feelin' mutual?
MC: But...
(If I had properly told them since I knew at that time...)
Suddenly, Seras-san placed his hand on my cheek. His fingers gently traced my cheek as if he was checking on something.
Seras: Dere's no need for ya to make dat kind of gloomy look. Sayin' somethin' like I didn't git to explain properly as an excuse is embarrassin'. Even if no one trusts me, I can do somethin' by myself! ...Well, even though I got excited dere, it's da truth.
While looking at me, Seras-san smiled. Instead of the dangerous look his eyes had when we first met... They were now showing a very gentle look.
Seras: When I was infiltratin' them... I saw you guys and reconsidered how important it is to properly communicate with people. Once I've realized dat, somethin' like today would happen. Yes, dat was quite an experience.
When his fingers traced my lips, a sweet shiver ran through my body.
Seras: I've told dis to everyone, but things will get better from now on. Just watch.
MC: Yes...
Once the horse carriage was ready, we heard a horse's footsteps from among the gate. As I watched his fingers leaving me, I felt a reluctance to part from him increasing for some reason...
Last Chapter - Beneath the Aurora
When we got on the horse carriage, we went into the forest.
MC: Where are we going?
Seras: It's a secret... Dat's what I wanna say, but you'll know once we get dere. It's gonna be a little cold, so it's best to put dis on.
Seras-san handed me a coat that he prepared.
MC: Thank you.
(But, just where are we really going...?)
When I thought of that question while putting the heavy coat on...
Seras: Did'ja forget what kinda kingdom dis was?
MC: What kind of kingdom...
Seras: Ya can't see it clearly during da day. Since it's a rare sight, I'm gonna take ya to a place where it looks especially beautiful.
MC: Do you mean, an aurora?
Just as I looked outside the window, Seras-san blocked my vision with his hand.
Seras: It's still early. Just wait for a bit longer.
MC: ...
My body trembled a little when he whispered that in my ear. When I turned towards Seras-san after he slowly removed his hand, he was looking at me with a mischievous smile...
......
Then, after a while... When we got out of the horse carriage, we descended onto a vast snowy field.
MC: Wow...
Ther was a faintly bright aurora spread out in the distant sky above the white snowy field.
Seras: Well then, see ya later.
After sending the horse carriage off, Seras-san entwined his hand with my own.
MC: ...
As I felt my cheeks getting warm, I looked up at him.
Seras: Your feet will slip... Doesn't it feel warmer by doing somethin' like dis?
MC: ...Yes.
When Seras-san pulled my hand, he walked on top of the snowy field that didn't have a single footprint on it.
Seras: Looks like it can be seen clearly today.
MC: Seen?
(I can already see the aurora, but...)
As I was looking at the faint aurora that was spread out in the starry sky, I tilted my head to the side.
Seras: It's pretty enough right now. But, you'll be surprised even more.
(Surprised...)
When Seras-san looked up at the sky, he happily smiled.
Seras: Minerva goes around da sky for da entire day to release a whole lot of electrical particles. Dat should be happenin' soon.
MC: Eh?
Seras: During da time when da sky becomes very dark, dat's when da aurora looks da most beautiful.
Seras-san's white breath dissolved in the starry sky.
Seras: Minerva can do some crazy stuff too.
MC: Yes...
After I softly responded, Seras-san softly held my shoulder.
MC: ...
Seras: It's cold, so let's huddle up.
Seras-san whispered that as he looked at my face. Just as the sudden close distance made my heart throb at that moment...
Seras: Look, da curtain is descendin' from da sky.
When I looked up at the sky, the green aurora gradually turned darker...
Seras: I've wanted to show you dis.
Among the starry sky that was shining brightly, the aurora wavered as it changed colors like blue and purple.
MC: Pretty...
I let out a sigh from how beautiful it was.
Seras: It's thanks to you dat we got to see somethin' so pretty.
MC: Eh...?
When I looked away from the aurora and turned towards Seras-san... I noticed that he was looking at me with a gentle gaze.
Seras: Thank you for protectin' dis beautiful kingdom.
MC: I...
Seras: You don't need to say anythin' else. Just accept it. Dis place where da aurora dat you've brought back looks the most beautiful. I've wanted to take ya here no matter what.
MC: Seras-san...
Seras: I wonder why. Bein' with ya gives me a gentle feelin'.
His fingers that were caressing my cheek went onto my lips.
Seras: I became able to speak out my feelings dat I kept inside. Wasn't dat because ya changed me?
After Seras-san said that, he approached me...
MC: Seras-san...
Just as I felt his warm breath against my forehead, he placed a cold kiss there the next moment.
MC: ...!
On the cheek, then on my eyelids... As he descended kisses onto me one after another, I couldn't tell whose white breath was spreading around us.
Seras: It's strange. I want to stay like dis forever.
Just as we separated, Seras-san closed the distance between us and made my head lean onto his shoulder.
(...Me too.)
While savoring the feeling that was spreading within my heart, I looked up at the night sky. Then...
Seras: Hey. How do ya describe dis feelin'?
Suddenly, Seras-san whispered that question to me.
Seras: Wantin' to be with ya forever. Dat kind of feelin'.
MC: That feeling is...
When I placed myself against Seras-san, I softly whispered it to him. Those words along with my white breath softly dissolved towards the night sky where the aurora was swaying...
