Chapter 4 - The Fortune Teller's Intentions
-Flashback-
Fortune Teller: Head to the eastern oasis.
-Flashback-
The next morning... With Sharon, who believes the fortune teller completely, we headed to the eastern oasis.
Sharon: Hurry! Miss Genie!
(There might not be anything in the eastern oasis. I want him to know that I'm not a genie...)
The cold night has now turned into a scorching hot sunlight.
(So hot...)
Sharon: It'll be okay, Miss Genie.
As I was swaying around, Sharon held me firmly.
With Sharon supporting me, I was somehow able to walk and at that moment...
MC: ...!?
Suddenly, a sandstorm whirled up and trapped me in it.
Sharon: Miss Genie!
The sandstorm separated us.
??: How foolish. Believing me so easily.
Sharon: You!!
Appearing from a sand dune was the fortune teller from yesterday.
Fortune Teller: The power that woke up Prince Sharon... It belonged to someone from the royal family of Traumerei. If you sell her to me, I'll pay you nicely.
Sharon: W-What!? Money!?
Sharon's eyes brightened up.
MC: Sharon!!
Sharon: I was kidding, Miss Genie! I'm coming to save you now!
Fortune Teller: ...Hmph.
When the fortuen teller played the flute, countless snakes appeared from the sand.
Sharon: Kyaaaaah!!
Sharon's scream echoed throughout the desert...
Last Chapter - Onto the Next Legend
Sharon: Gyaaaaah!!
Sharon's scream echoed throughout the desert...
MC: Sharon!
Countless snakes attacked Sharon. Although, they weren't real snakes, it was sand in the form of snakes.
Sharon: E-Enough with the snakes!!
MC: S-Sharon! Look closely! They're not real snakes!
I tried to run over to him, but the sandstorm prevented me from approaching him.
Fortune Teller: Hmph... How pathetic.
MC: ...!
The moment the fortune teller strongly grabbed my arm and was about to take me away...
Sharon: Miss Genie! Dammit! Get out of my way!
When Sharon got away by clearing out the sand snakes with his dagger, he ran over to us.
Fortune Teller: Wha...
Sharon: Miss Genie will get fed up with me if I keep on showing uncool parts of myself.
Sharon cuts the fortune teller's flute into two.
Sharon: Get away from her!
When the fortune teller became surprised and lets go of my arm, Sharon took that opportunity and held me.
Fortune Teller: ...Tsk!
Just as he clicked his tongue vexingly, the fortune teller, along with the sandstorm, disappeared from there.
MC: ...Thank you, Sharon.
Sharon: ...Could it be that you're not a genie?
When he slowly lets go of me, Sharon murmured that.
Sharon: That guy said something about Traumerei...
MC: Yes. That's what I've been trying to tell you from the start...
Sharon: Aa~ah, guess you got to make money the honest way.
Sharon's shoulders dropped in disappointment.
MC: Hey... Why do you need money? Even though you're a prince, you do work.
Sharon: ...I want to make the town more abundant. The desert environment is harsh. We're unable to get supplies unless we do trades. Above all that, I have a big family at my place. Despite being royals, we try our best to feed ourselves. Since I'm the youngest and have the most freedom, I do whatever I can to get rich quickly. If we had money, we could've had an undergrown waterway installed and an indoor heating system arranged. That way, more people could live here easily.
(So, that's why...)
MC: ...I'm sorry that I couldn't be of any help.
Sharon: W-What are you apologizing for? I'm the one who got the wrong idea. There's no such thing as a legend that'll give you money. Sorry for dragging you into all this.
MC: No. I just wanted to do something to help.
Sharon: ...I see, thanks!
When we smiled at each other at that moment...
??: Hey, Sharon!
We saw the caravan group that we've encountered the other day passing by.
Caravan Man: Did you hear? In the west town, a magic carpet was seen flying in the sky. An old legend coming to life, a rare find among all rare finds. Don't you think that it'll make a lot of money if you sell it!?
Sharon: What was that!?
Sharon's eyes brightened up even more.
Caravan Man: We're heading over to that town now, what do you think?
Sharon: Of course!
Sharon placed both of his hands on his waist proudly.
Sharon: We'll be going too! Right!?
MC: Eh!?
Sharon: Didn't you say that you want to help me?
MC: I-I did, but...
Sharon: Then, I'll be in your care!
I couldn't bring myself to refuse when Sharon smiled broadly...
